As far as the tightness of the spot goes, it’s actually a very good thing the spot is a bit larger from a tactical perspective. It is important to try and fit a person, potential suspect, bad guy etc, fully within the spot from the top of the head down to the persons feet. You want the full person including extremities to be lit up not just the face for obvious reasons. This is important up close or at a distance so although having a smaller tight spot is super cool, tactically, it is not as functionally important and quite possibly a negative. Also, having the spot be so defined and then drop off isn’t always good either. it’s much better for the spot to smooth into the outer ring beam, again for obvious reasons. Tactically, you want to know what’s going on outside of that spot. Other people, good guys, bad guys, movement, all sorts of things, all of these considerations and others are crucially important, when it goes into making a “tactical“ flashlight. So in addition to a flashlight being super cool, and awesome which I’m just as much of a nerd as anybody else when it comes to flashlights, functionality for its intended use, of course, has to take precedence. 😬👍🏼

That sensor is for accidental turn on while in a bag, pocket, etc. so it doesn’t burn a hole in it or light it on fire. Not for your eyes….

Man, this flashlight addiction is becoming an issue; I swore when last Friday's 1100-meter thrower was delivered I was done, but this would let me give my son my MH25s, this being a very suitable replacement.
I am slightly concerned about the beam color; having the a Warrior Pro and Warrior X (the ones before they upgraded to the 6500k) I might hold off; I don't like the warmer beams; Oh heck, I know I'm going to buy the darn thing, might as well just order it.
    Thanks for the review.

Haha, I know that feeling of "this is the last one!" very well! Yeah, beam color is not off-putting. I don't think you will have a problem with it.

Yeah, I just ordered it; when I got to the Nitecore store and saw I could get it for $84.95 with their 10%, plus another 5% with the Honey app, I just hit buy now.
Truth is, I held off on upgrading my P20i for the P23i because I knew an upgraded MH25 wouldn't be far behind; that took all the willpower I could muster, no way I was going through that again.
      Thanks again.

When it comes to testing this light, I wish just once Charles BridgeTech would say “holy shit “when he gets excited about a light. lol. Anyone who watches Charles BridgeTech knows even when he’s excited he’s pretty contained lol.

The beam color is not green atall, so if you was scared to buy don't be, its the exact same tint as the cyansky k3v2 the hot spot is 99% the same size and tint. The nitcore just has a more perfectly round hot spot the k3 is kinda smudged with artifacts

The additional sensor is not a light sensor, it’s a proximity sensor to keep the light from burning anything up close to it since the heat that come out of the light is crazy hot! I should know….. I burned a hole in my $3000 couch WITH MY P23i and my wife damn near killed me!!! LOL Note to other flash-a-holics, DONT BURN WIFES COUCH!!!

The proximity sensor is to stop the flashlight from burning a hole in a bag or pocket as a safety feature.

I think that light sensor is so it doesn't burn holes in bags or pockets

    • @oldbones9205
      @oldbones9205 11 місяців тому

Correct, Olight had some lawsuits for people getting burned; I believe they had a recall on the Warrior for this reason; I have no doubt that Nitecore incorporated the sensor for the same reason.
I like Olights' build quality but hate their magnetic proprietary charging; my pocket Olights are great (i5R, i5T, and i3Ts), but I'll never buy another with their proprietary charge cord.

I wasn't into flashlights until recently when I saw the imalent ms03 which is really bright and good quality but I don't like the power button it's too easy to accidentally turn it on which happened a couple of times and burned the holster a bit and how the battery needs to be taken out to charge it
Nitecore flashlights are just great I got the MS 12 pro and the MS12 V2 and just ordered this one

    • @ChalliceofLight

I totally hear you. And accidental turn-ons are a big no-no for flashlights, IMO.

Hello friend, first of all, I would like to say that you shot a nice video. I'm thinking of buying this new model MH25 PRO flashlight. What are your experiences with this model? How do you like the new LED? You can check the working time, light output, long-distance illumination, etc. What do you think? Can you recommend? Or should I look for another model?

But, step-less ramping and a silent switch make the other option quite appealing.
