I'm sad that crunchyroll is so adverse to unionization that they're throwing away such significant talent over such a simple request, I hope they reconsider and I wish you the best of luck with whatever comes next
It's sad that many are adverse to unions in america. As a union member, do I think unions 100% work? Yes, I do. Do I think there are shitty unions that DON'T work? Yes, I do. There are jobs that are impossible to unionize just because of how unions SHOULD work effectively. Unions work most effectively with contracted labor, Welders, Carpenters, Voice Actors, ect. who move from job to job, company to company, role to role. In the case of many unions grocery stores, railways, teachers, ect. I think these unions are harder to get anything done and in most cases become horrifically corrupt under themselves, because you arent contracted workers selling your skills to anyone but 1 company. Thus they can do whatever the hell they want to you and you can't fight back or just move onto the next job. The fact that Crunchyroll is Anti-union is incredibly sad, especially after buying Funimation, they've realized they have a monopoly on this. Which is funny by the way, because Crunchyroll used to steal subbed anime from more talented individuals and then copyright strike their piracy acting as if it was theres. NEVER, let Crunchyroll live that down.
This is sad to hear, I really hope you get to reprise the role. You gave Mob such a great voice for the dub. It's really annoying to see so many companies back away from anything tied to unions.

It is only when you join a union, contrary to popular beliefs, that conversations dry up. Because most of the unions way of negotiating is "our way or the highway" and also by the very nature of the new administrative overhead, more money will be needed. I detest companies that take advantage of their employees but time and time again unions mostly screw stuff up even more. Similarly to minimum wage laws. How are they treating him like Garbage? He literally said they wanted to pay him a generous contract, possibly more than he would have gotten with the union. They didn't fire him, he's refusing the role just because Crunchyroll isn't willing to "have a talk" about a union contract. A union contract that would require Crunchyroll fire all non-union workers and make them refuse to hire any non-union workers in the future. This is not the kind of situation where a union is needed, it's the kind of situation that gives them a bad name.
I'm beyond upset at this.... I will say it and this will be an unpopular opinion, I feel like your dub was better than the subs. The whole dub for this show in general was amazing, but there was one moment that really stood out to me. Season 2 episode one. The part where Mob is picking up the paper scraps in tears. It still brings tears to my eyes hearing that subtle voice trembling as Mob is in tears saying how he has feelings and it reminds him of what's important in his heart. The acting you did in that part felt way more emotional than the original voice acting did.

Mob's dub voice was my main reason for watching. The whole dub cast for Mob Psycho thus far has been phenomenal, whether you get the opportunity to reprise or not, thank you for all your hard work.

@@gaaraofthedesert6566 So is your mom's head game.
I'm sorry to hear Kyle, ofcourse I hope that a conversation will happen and that you will still be able to voice Mob for season 3.
But if that's not the case, we will always be able to enjoy your amazing performance in the first two seasons. For me you will always be the voice of Mob.
I really hope there's enough backlash to get them to fold. This is so upsetting. I won't lie that I teared up. I was particularly looking forward to the dub because I was so excited to hear your performance for the final arc of the series. This crushed my heart.
The Funimation controversy didn’t make them fold. I don’t think this will either but man would it be great if it did
We latin americans basically bullied a company into giving us the right Dragon Ball dub, you can do the same.
you did so well as mob that whenever i talk about superb eng voice acting, you are always my first mention
I hope things turn out well
Mob is just not the same without you playing him...I just got done watching the first episode of mob 3 dub and WOW it will never be the same...I hope nothing but the best for you and your career
You will always be our Shigeo Kageyama!! I read the news today, and I was heartbroken. It is really brave and nice to hear from you in person. They say one closed door can lead to a thousand opened ones, hopefully this will lead you to a better oppertunity :)

I started watching the show this week and started seasons 3 today and was shocked to hear mob's different voice…and now I know why…so sad to hear that you were such an amazing voice for him and it would not be the same without you…
Goddamnit, your voice for him was so good, and I was so looking forward to hearing you do some particular scenes in season 3! Nah, this can't stand.
I can't imagine someone doing a better job at dubbing mob because I absolutely loved your performance, so I really hope you will be able to reprise the role but even more so I greatly understand and respect your position! Glad I could hear this from you
Mob is one of my most precious comfort characters and part of that is due to your beautiful performance, I really can't imagine anyone else's voice for him
Mob's voice just isn't the same in the new season, really sorry they did this to you
Dang, you're THE english Mob. I personally feel it weird not to have your Mob voice on the most important final confrontation on this saga finale. The other guy tried his best, but it still feels like its not the same voice we been warming up since the start. Makes me just switch over to sub when i actually watched dub all the way from season 1, anyway thanks for voicing Mob for the first two seasons. The show is a masterpiece
I’m not a dub guy, but I have to say the English dub for mob psycho was very well done, you and Chris nioshi gave really great performances. Best of luck, I hope you find more successes in the future.
We all need to support Kyle right now. Everyone needs to be commenting and sharing for the algorithm. 💪🏽
Keep fighting the good fight man, know that you did your best for the people you work with, much love ❤️
PLEASE keep trying to set up that sit down we all want you and the cast to finish the series that you started together 🤞
One of my favorite shows with a damn near perfect English dub cast
The new voice is so different I’m not sure I can keep watching it now
Your work as Mob was (hopefully can be is again) amazing and I’m so sad to hear about this. I’m glad your making this decision though and I hate crunchyroll for this. I hope this situation can be turned out for the better
honestly I hope this causes crunchyroll a lot of backlash. unions are great for any industry and when companies aren't willing to comply with them it's honestly quite a red flag.
impressed by how well-put and easy to follow his explanation was
That’s sad but understandable. I will continue to support you and your work. I hope things can work out.
Isn't the third season technically the final season? Like, they were almost DONE. You deserve SO much better than this treatment.
After watching the first episode in dub it just doesn’t feel the same without you :( I’ll miss you
This is incredibly sad to hear but you deserve to be unionized. You’ll still be our Mob no matter what happens.
I watch the show subbed but this is really sad. Stay strong Kyle!
I’m so sad about this. I know this is old news but i watched the new episodes that came out and it’s simply not the same without you and many others!!!
Hey man, sticking to your values no matter what. Mad respect.
Ur room gives me life I’m so glad ur a nerd. Seeing ppl be successful in a field that they enjoy is so wholesome
You are a perfect voice for Mob, I hope you somehow get back into it
So sorry to hear what happened. I wish you nothing but the best for the future .
I've never given money to Crunchy, and I'm never gonna start. Solidarity forever.
I’m so sorry all of this happened. Mob Psycho is my favorite show and Mob is a character I heavily relate to and your voice talent brought his character to life so well. I hope crunchyroll and other companies get their act together and think of their employees.
Glad I stumbled onto this video, actually wild they said no to just meeting a representative... that is pretty nuts... sorry to hear it, I dont need to watch season 3 via them, idk if that helps or not, but that sucks.good luck man
Man thank you for all years of entertainment and amazing work and your amazing you stood for your fallow VA and you should celebrated.
Thank you for speaking out to us, Kyle. Crunchyroll is disgusting for treating you like garbage. I'll support you to the end.
Bro, your VA as shiego was literally the best thing ever. I'm actually so sad rn.
I’m so sad to hear this! I loved your work with Mob!! Thank you so much for all your hard work and I really hope they will reconsider!!
Thank you for the courage to try to better the lives of your fellow VAs
Your smart for your decision, and it takes a lot to tell this to the fans. I hope it works out. Mob is a show I like to switch back and forth on with the dub/sub. It's all so quality, and I'm sad to hear that you might not return.
Mob means so much to me as a character. You will always be my mob ❤️
Devastated to hear- but good on you for standing by your principles. Good luck!
Based Kyle, keep fighting the good fight.
He was right. Mob is different and will never be the same.
Solidarity! Union work has always been lacking in dubbing and this sucks to hear that they won't be stepping up for any negotiation here
:( I don't really know you but I absolutely LOVE your voice as mob when I watched the series. I don't think I'll get over it, you're just that suited for him. This sucks a lot but thank you for the work you're doing to relieve this. I wish you best of luck.
They can’t listen to a simple request, then they don’t get my money. No different than when Hulu threatened to replace John DiMaggio.
You're the whole reason I started watching Mob. I had got a Jojo autograph during Covid and you slipped a little freebie in because it understandably took a while. It was a picture of Mob so I said why not let's check it. Fell in love immediately! They really are losing out on this :( wishing you well
Really sad to hear this is their chosen route. I hope your decision to speak up will make a positive change in the industry, I'm really glad you're sharing this!
I’m so sorry to hear this. Mp100 is one of the shows that I actually enjoyed the English bud more than sub. You’ve all done an amazing job, every cast fit the character so well. 😢
Man, this is terrible news. I usually watch Mob Psycho in sub, but I always enjoyed your work as Shigeo.
I wish CR had made a different decision. I’m hoping for the best for you, Kyle.
Here from Ludwigs video to show some support. I couldn't imagine how hard this must be after literally being the voice of a character and having to let that go. Lots of love
This man must return....this show is so close to being a master piece.if the change out one of the best VA in the cast on the last season it will go down I history as one of the biggest fuck-ups in anime history
At least for the english dub. We can at least have high hopes that the japanese dub team could finish it in a high note.
Still, this is a shame, since the phenomenal english dub justifies a rewatch.
Yeah there will always be the sub, they will guarantee it'll go out on a high note but it's just so unfortunate the dub couldn't finish what it started
@@moondrip2163 as much as like the sub , the dub is just that good. I can’t look at the sub the same anymore. For me I’m jumping straight to the manga if this doesn’t get fixed.
@@ARC1300 And miss out on BONES' labor of love in this anime? Come on now. Its rare for incredibly well-animated and well-directed shows to have this much passion and heart behind it. The manga, while good (I read it myself already), just won't deliver the same experience the anime did and will.
@@ARC1300 I feel like this is completely subjective and highly dependent on whichever version you watched first. I love the sub and both reigan and mobs voice actors absolutely kill it. Now when I try to watch the dub it just doesnt feel the same, and feels way less expressive and genuine. It's really just personal preference.
Granted if they canceled the sub today I'd still watch the dub version because the shows just that good right
Thank you for informing us. Not only did I greatly enjoy your portrayal, but I also greatly support your right to a union. I'll keep paying attention to how the situation develops, I hope for the best for you!
This is exactly what happened with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The actors wanted the show to go Union, Saban refused and replaced them.
So sad to see this happen. I hope you do get your role back or atleast something just as good. It's a pain to see crunchyroll act like such a child. And if the union stuff doesn't work out, hopefully people will vote with their wallets to show what we want. Best of luck my dude.
honestly, your voice is a big part of what got me into MP100. I've been a fan of yours since I got into automata and fire emblem echoes around the same time and hearing your voice acting is always a treat! I started up MP100 a few months ago without knowing you were involved and was so charmed by your performance that it really elevated the show for me
Awe that is sad. You're such a good voice for mob and such a sweet guy too :c
Yeah watched the first episode of season 3 dub, it's just not the same. You were definitely the voice of Mob. Not to mention all the other replacements as well. At this point I'm just going to cancel the crunchyroll subscription and sail the seven seas again.
Dude your an incredible voice actor you and your fellow talented artists deserve more respect than this
Sorry to hear this mate, I hope it works out for you in the end
thank you sir for your candor and transparency about this issue! i wish you and the other Edub anime talent all the best!!! i hope Crunchy-Funi-Aniplex-SONY listens to you guys and at least sits down with you all and STARTS talking about SAG contracts!
Thank you for basically being willing to take one for the team. I’m glad that the conversation of keeping acting roles in anime within union representation is being had. It’s long overdue and I’m glad that you are telling Crunchyroll to have the damn convo already. Thank you so much I hope to see you on Mob psycho 3!
Thank you for your work and I hope you find another spot that will take care of you!
That's pretty sad to hear. Sorry they treated you like that. And im glad that your standing up for yourself.
Who else can do that chill voice lol hire this man back under any circumstance
I love all your voices Kyle one love brother.
Thanks for the update. Your fans will still stand by you no matter the outcome
Hello Kyle!
Since I know you're humble enough to read the comments, I just want to tell you,
Your voice-acting of 9S in NieR: Automata is the single best voice-acting I've seen in all of gaming.
Not an opinion exclusive to mine. It's just *_that_* great.
The great memories I have of that game will follow me for the rest of my life, which is greatly thanks to your outstanding work as 9S.
For that, I am grateful, and wish you the best! ; D
Your offer is more than fair. Sad I might not hear you in season 3. I'm a dub only fan for that show.
I don't watch the dub but kudos to you for sticking to your guns and fighting for what you believe in.
I’m glad your sticking up for what you believe in, I also believe that unionization is suuuuper important, especially in the United States, and I’ve think we’ve seen that these last couple of years… or more. Still sucks we may not hear you voice mob though.😞
This man is so reasonable, I can't see why crunchyroll wouldn't listen
I tend to watch anime subbed more often than not now days but I loved you as Mob in both seasons, really disheartening to hear about this, you all deserve better.
As a fan of the show I'm finding it hard to think of a solution to fight back against crunchy roll, other than pirating the episodes myself and not support the platform.
We are pro Union
You have a lot of integrity to do this when so many would let it slide, thank you for standing up for so many
Upset that your one of a kind talent is in jeopardy for Mob Psycho 100 and really admire your push for a discussion between Crunchyroll and the union as well of course your openness with your fans. All the best.
Hey man, thanks for taking a mature approach to this announcement. Really appreciate your work and look forward to hearing you in other properties.
I literally just watched the dub a week ago and it was phenomenal! I've been a fan of Kyle's work since NieR: Automata. It's unfortunate to hear the news but maybe it'll turn around before the dub goes into full production. I remember Takagi San had similar issues with the Funi dub and Netflix dub a few years ago.
The series with new voices will be good no doubt JJK's dub is amazing but it just won't be the same without Kyle and with the possibility Chris not returning it just won't hit the same after hearing them for 24 episodes.
I watched the dub first and it was amazing, you made Mob feel real and it will not be the same without you.
One of my favorite series with an incredible dub to it as well. I'll be informing Crunchyroll that without a meeting I will be canceling my premium membership.
Thank you so much for your work as Mob. It was spectacular. I hope you still get reprised.
