verse 2, greatest thing ive ever heard. verse 1 second and verse 3 3rd. my top 10 are all from lupe songs. ppl you have no idea what lupe just did here. there are about 12 Literary principles in this song. the similes, metaphors, personification, paradigms, imagery, parallelism, juxtapositions, syllepsises, irony, rhyme scheme, and aphorisms are just a few, all found in this song..lol not many eng proffesrs can evn write anthng that has that many principles of literature in it. Borderline Genious.
He said "Truthfully I have trouble with second verses cause the first one be so intimidatin it be bullyin and pickin on it instigatin Pointin out all the second ones limitations" 0.o #KilledIt #BowDown
Adrienne Soto He said he has trouble writing second verses because he doesn't want to clone his first verse and wants to do better, so at about around the 8th bar he finally does then proceeds to write a 3rd. His verses are actually quite simple to understand... Maybe you just weren't trying.
The cool saga will forever be the greatest rap story told ever Lupe is too underrated. I'm really hoping him and Kendrick & Ab-soul do a track together
1 Month late and shit, but for the sake of future viewers. This track is from the FREE mixtape titled "Revenge of the Nerds" and you can download it for FREE via datpiff (google it nigga, it ain't hard).
dis nigha is so smart...its crazy even the shit he puts out on mainstream is still sick....i like that cuz he aint gonna water his shit down jus to make sum money... lupe is in my top 5 no doubt
@THEALLSTARMLB2009 Frankly Lupe's metaphors and lyrics aren't due to his lack of maturation or whatever you're trying to imply, he refuses to dumb down his songs which he already has done quite a bit(and they still go over people's heads). I personally would not want him to make his lyrics easier I love finding the double meanings and hidden context in his songs.
@tahir10bosna I take Judo as well... kicking and punching are involved, it's called 'Atemi-waza', which is when you focus on striking the vital points for instant take down opposed to using grapples.
@ZaviahIV Although i agree with some of your points, his flow isn't the best, but multi-syllabe rhymes are always present with this guy, and all the things he said ARE there, in addition to a lot of wordplay and subtle double-meanings. A lot of rappers utilize those, but almost none do it as well as Lupe. And he is Borderline Genius.
@youngatnaruto -Beautiful -When I'm Gone -Mockingbird -Stan -The Way I Am -Cleanin Out My Closet -Evil Deeds -Cinderella Man -Going Through Changes -Love The Way You Lie -Not Afraid -Space Bound -25 to life -Talking 2 Myself -Till I Collapse ALL those songs and more are some of his best and are about more important things. Not to mention some of his mixtapes. Sooooo many more. Honestly, you are limiting yourself if you deny Eminem.
@FootballBoi815 thts funny cause im playin madden right now and cant keep focus, i keep getting delay of games back to back lol....he IS one of the most underrated hiphop artists EVER and one of the best lyrically wise hands down, he sgoitta be in the top 5-10 atleast
@cisseusa123 Ya bro....But "Glory" is my favorite song EVER. "The truth...is limitless in it's range/ If you, drop a "T" and look at it in reverse, it could hurt" But we can all agree that Lupe deserves ALOT more respect then he currently he has. :)
That's what makes him so tight. Both of those actually fit... if infact you account that lima beans are green, he may have been talking about that. He definitely is mean & vicious...
@youngatnaruto Well thats because Eminem has a humorous side also. Most of his songs about bitches and hoes are either serious or funny all together. I really haven't heard one track by Lupe that is funny like what Eminem does. Not saying thats a bad thing but just saying they are different but equally amazing.
truthfully i have trouble wit second verses cause da first one be so intimidating they be bullying and pickin on it instigating pointing out all its second ones limitations like, u aint nuttin but a imitation like, bit of baking then he gets the chorus and the beat to togther then they all gang up on him and get to hating... Damn He's a fukin genius!
@XxBeelzeBubxX Look I never said anything about Eminem being older so he can't rap I said he matured and started to see life in a different way. I never implyed that he should dumb down his songs or that he will not be a great rapper when he reaches age 38. I think Lupe is one of the best rappers around and I hope he continues to rap for as long as he can.
Love Lupe, amazes me with each listen.Ii wanted to ask all Lupe fans if they'd heard Saul Williams. He's not very well known, but is also a great literary genius like Lupe. Check him out
@therealist91 Well initially I figured it is just wordplay and creativity at it's finest. I thought he was just messing around with words and stuff. Then about about two weeks ago, I saw Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo DiCaprio...
It's about extentions because he says extended earlier in the verse, and black powder is gun powder I believe, although I'm sure Lupe was using it as a metaphor for something else. That's the thing about Lupe's music, you gotta listen to every word and remember what he said to understand the rest of the song, and it's usually left somewhat open for interpretation. He uses alot of double meanings. Lupe's a genius but he's so complex you gotta be in a real analytical mood to even listen to it. 1
@freshprince58 yo, this comment seriously made me smile. You pointed out many attributes from the pen and pad then makes a real MC. Rappers = Metaphors and Simile's. MC's = Lupe.
@PowShredder801 listen to "Gotta Eat" and "Failure". "Failure" is literally a piece of art. Just beautiful. The list just goes on. Even "Lupe The Killa" has tons of wordplay.
If lupe fiasco goes to much over your head that doesnt mean your not intelligent or dumb it jst means your not used to thinkin that hard about what artist say therefore there lyrics are simple compared to Lupe's #Truth
@THEALLSTARMLB2009 I am not talking about Eminem not being able to rap, he's still one of the best rappers alive, I just meant that no matter how much Lupe grows up he is the type of person who flexes his lyrical talents as you may have heard in the Super Lupe Rap where he responds to Soulja Boy. Either way I hope he doesn't retire he is too talented to end his career so early.
Lupe Fiasco, Army of the Pharaohs, Eminem, Royce da 5'9'', Rakim, Jay-Z, Nas, KRS-One, Canibus, The Game. Who the fuck said Hip-Hop was dead?!? And why compare rappers? The more we compare, the more we kill Hip-Hop! Fuck all of the, "vs." videos on UA-cam, and let's celebrate versatility of rap!
dude so deep he makes his own verses fight each other.
verse 2, greatest thing ive ever heard. verse 1 second and verse 3 3rd. my top 10 are all from lupe songs. ppl you have no idea what lupe just did here. there are about 12 Literary principles in this song. the similes, metaphors, personification, paradigms, imagery, parallelism, juxtapositions, syllepsises, irony, rhyme scheme, and aphorisms are just a few, all found in this song..lol not many eng proffesrs can evn write anthng that has that many principles of literature in it.

Huh?!' Stupid! :-)
Adrienne Soto He said he has trouble writing second verses because he doesn't want to clone his first verse and wants to do better, so at about around the 8th bar he finally does then proceeds to write a 3rd. His verses are actually quite simple to understand... Maybe you just weren't trying.

@ZaviahIV Although i agree with some of your points, his flow isn't the best, but multi-syllabe rhymes are always present with this guy, and all the things he said ARE there, in addition to a lot of wordplay and subtle double-meanings.
