    The IC shop complex, later VMV, in Paducah in the far west of my home state of KY is, and to some extent still is, a truly fascinating complex as one of the largest loco shop facilities in the US.
    Congratulations on 8330s successful trial run and you really did a first rate coverage of the event!

    Nice to see two rebuilds,still going strong! One out Cleburne[TX],and the other from Paducah,and an ex-UP,B unit at that! Thank-you for a first generation exotic transformation engine biography! Thank you 😇 😊!

    Great stuff there Christian. Although the subject was the 8330, I must confess I loved seeing the ex-ATSF CF7. These rebuilds took place in the company shops in Cleburne, TX and many are still running strong today on regionals and industrial spurs like grain elevators.

      Yea that CF7 is my favorite in their fleet. Thanks for the comment Bill!

    I would love to see it back in its orange and white ICG scheme.

      Our plans are currently to restore it to an ICG look. We’d utilize not the white scheme, but the dark gray and orange variant.

      @@kotabeaner I don't see any pictures of 8330 in orange and gray, but I was thinking that since a railroad museum in Kentucky refurbished 7738 back to its original orange and white, it would be nice to see one in orange and gray. Be sure you guys use better gray paint than ICG used. It tended to fade quickly. It took a while for that orange and gray to grow on me. Hope to see this unit in operation in the future. I live a couple of hours away. I enjoyed seeing a Paducah rebuild on the Seminole Gulf Murder Mystery Train. Can't wait to see this one. Grew up in ICG territory in Illinois. Always love to see Paducah rebuilds alive and kicking.

      @kotabeaner 8 місяців тому +1

      Right, 8330 never wore the dark gray. We’re thinking of going with it since it arguably looks better, and will hide any future dirt spots a lot better than bare white. There’s also a few museum-themed twists we plan to add to the loco that are more easily utilized with that scheme. We plan on using Imron industrial paint, so I imagine it’ll hold the shine for quite a while.

    You should really check out Hastings Florida we grew red potatoes there as well as regular potatoes for lays potato chips. And seaboard coast line would run from Palatka down to Hastings to get loaded trailers to ship out .

      @@multicolorfilms I loved every second of it...well...almost. We had some really rough days in the late 90's. I'm really proud of what the FRRM has become, Willow and the building in Parrish were just a pipe dream when I started.

      @@multicolorfilms Well, that could fill a book, but when I started in April of 1995, we didn't have much $$$. There were no employees, only all volunteer to cover everything, including track maintenance. I myself spent a few saturdays changing ties my myself. Willow...well...the track ended at the gate...which has moved south quite a bit. All the shop area, field for events ,etc...was all woods and brush, no one ever went back there unless you were crazy. We survived...somehow and then we did a Thoms The Tank Engine event in 2001 and made $$ for the first time. Things started to take off then. I'm hoping to come back next April as it will have been 30 years since I started and I want to see how it changed. Keep making these videos, there are a lot of us not there anymore and we like watching and seeing what has become of the place.
