You are absolutely right..................... But I don't think I want to fall, for working for a company. SO THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION TO ASK. Is that our opportunity to educate ourselves and a rapid pace so we can have our own business, instead of working for someone else?
@@aredeemable1 What ever happened to the Trucker's Union? That should be a solution. My past work experience is in Payroll and Payroll Tax. In my opinion there are two options. Strike, which would require a union to coordinate, or revamp how truckers are paid. This would be a great discussion topic to get people's opinions on what would aid trucker's to earn more while also making it so that trucking companies can accurately monitor their employees to be sure they are working to earn the money. Paid by miles rewards work, but what happens to the trucker when a dispatch ignores them, slowing due to holidays, slowing due to time of year, etc. Why should truckers get paid by the market demand? On the other side of that, why wouldn't truckers get paid by the market demand! Like now!
Just got off a consultation call with David, and all I can say is I am thankful for him. I’ve watched almost every video on his channel in the last 2 years and pretty much, my entire trucking business foundation I owe to him and his videos. This year I decided to overcome fear, and start putting things in place to start my own authority at the end of this year. So, I booked a consultation to get some of my final questions answered and get his thoughts on the way I intended to approach things. The value of having someone who is successfully doing something you aspire to do, cannot be overstated. Especially with the way he breaks things down, and is so willing to share his experience. Just being able to have my questions answered, and getting to learn more in-depth about his experience and his methods, has given me the confidence I needed to go for it. Key word, "Living BElOW your means!" Quit buying shit you dont need.
Have 2-3 jobs, pay the lowest rent for your area, always be 100% debt free in consumer/personal side, get used to budgeting every single day, track and know your money and spending habits. Budget for everything....rent, food, gas, condoms, kids field trips, replacement tires on your car, replacement battery..everything..ie. figure out those things that tend to be "emergencies" in the past and start pre paying that money to separate envelopes or accounts. Master the art of "sinking funds". To save 30k is essentially that, a deliberate payment every pay period goes towards it, like a bill. You master that and you can save $300,000 if you want to.

I’m at that point now saving for a truck. I have my own authority and business but still new and learning how to get it really going and off the ground.
to have an active authority you have to have insurance, so your saying your paying 1500$ a month in commercial liability insurance but you don't have a truck? doubt it

How did you learn how to effectively and profitably run a business? I would like to have a business but I have no formal business training.
I learned how to run my trucking company from working as 1099 contractor for owner/operator truckers. You will learn what you to do, and definitely what not to do. I look for guys to train and teach cause another trucker put me in position.
I am having hard time getting insurance, I bought truck as you did but hard to get insurance as I don’t have CDL currently and now in classes for that too.
Please advice what’s best way to get that.

Have you ever thought about leasing on with a carrier? I think they can help you get affordable insurance through them.

I own and inherited a place . Can’t I just go to the bank and get a loan for equipment? I own a mobile home and trailer so I can’t get a mortgage. I gave borrowed $32,000 for a new truck . I have been approved for $150,000 & another bank $200,000 for a home . My credit score is good . I got 20 years driving semi for other companies. No wrecks , no lay outs or failed drug tests . What should I do ?

Learn the industry whichever one you want to do. You can do short doubles and gravel trains and haul aggregate for 8 months out of the year or dry van freight. Flat bed. Anything you want. I’m in the process now and you have to learn and ask every single question you think of to other successful owner operators. Not any owner operator, make sure there smart and successful and take care of there trucks so you get the exact numbers on Maintenance and cost like that. Take a lot of notes. I write down everything in my phone then transfer to my email so I always have it.
