Very nice video! I'll practice on my Darmah. A friend of mine has the Carbmate. On the other hand, I heard that it was not good to disconnect one sparkplug while the engine is running. Might damage the coil. is this correct?
hmm, I can't really say. But I have discussed how I do with this Brook and he has also seen this video without saying anything about it. One thing seem obvious is that I have two separate coils and so it seems unlikely that one would affect the other. As well, it should be expected that a multi-cylinder engine might lose spark on one of them not and then and shouldn't be damaged as a result. But lastly, I've been doing this for a long time (and long periods when I was doing it by ear) and things seem to continue to work fine. I would however suspect that there might be some sort of configuration where it could matter, so don't take my word for it :)
Hey thanks Everett! After all these years, owning the bike still seems unreal at times. Oh, and thanks to you I've now watched junior shagging for the first time in my life! :)
Love your vids so detailed, I watched the first half but would make the point that this should be done with a warm engine, second half you obviously had the bike warm. Lovely bike!
Hi Jeff, thanks for the comment. I need good comments to keep putting them up. I actually recorded the two parts the other way around but then decided it was better to swap them. Definitely get the engine warmed up!
Hi Doug, yes I love those gloves. I wouldn't recommend them for cold weather or commuting as they're too short, but for fun rides they are nice and have the look I like. They're called Alpinestars Oscar Rayburn gloves. I purchased a spare pair a couple of years ago for when I wear these ones out. They were hard to get in black XL a couple of years ago when they stopped making this model. There were plenty in brown though. I see now that they've done a mark 2 version, which looks a little different and has a zipper on the side. I also see they do one called the Mustang which looks pretty good but with velcro instead of the zipper.
heheh well I have to admit the speedo does wobble below 30k or so. It's an NOS cable and is not quite straight. I should get a new inner piece made for it.
Thanks for these vids. They are so well done, and actually very helpful.

Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. You have a gorgeous bike!

Thank you for posting the video, very informative.
A slightly off topic question, but what gloves are those that you have? They look lovely.

And... am surprised at how steady the needles on your Veglias are.
