  • Now that the first test pulley is done (still may need to make another one if it runs into problems later, who knows), I am able to work to make new motor mount adapter pieces to get my new 220v single phase motor to attach to the unit instead of the original three phase motor.
I used 1/4-20 machine screws with the slanted heads for the attachments between the adapter plates, the original plate and the motor.
I am glad I had at some point bought a set of counter sink bits to use in steel as that worked great. The only thing that may have been nicer, was if Home depot had thicker bar stock when I bought this piece ages ago, as that would have given me a few more threads to hold the up through fasteners that hold the motor on...they should not go anywhere as it is, but that would have made that operation a bit easier.
Now I just have to take the cutter wheel and shroud off so I can measure for the new belt size I will need...and then maybe, just maybe, I can actually get this thing to turn on and work so I can figure out how to use it.
