The thing I like about the Powerlinx clip is the way it's designed to be universal. It's not like there's a male and female connector, limiting what combinations you can make. The connector is designed rather cleverly to allow any toy to connect to any other toy, which I very much appreciate.
I remember having lots Energon toys when I was pretty young. Only 2 Broke on me was Barricade and The Green tractor (Could never find their extra ones to make the arms and legs)
I have very few from this line but I love the line. I've got prime, Jetfire, towline, and a broken Ironhide for the Autobots but I really want to be more of them.
Is it bad that I only just now noticed that the top pilot section and the crane arm aren't aliened is because the panel that they're one is at a slant?
Thanks for reviewing this; been considering him and Energon Inferno as my classics Grapple and Inferno (the Universe versions being Voyager is a bit big for my liking). ... though now I kind of just want them for the combined form; it's like the only energon combined form that doesn't look stupid.
Theres a remold of this being sold with a possibly unique powerlinx mold in cheap retail store B and M in the UK. Oddly I swear they have added new articulation to him!
I really hope Hasbro does a Selects release of ER Grapple with these colors, they just really hit me so much more than Grapple’s normal G1 color scheme. That and a remolded cab section, the industrial stylings of the cab on Roadblock/Inferno just _SLAPS_
The toy bio actually presented Roadblock as a separate character. However, for the cartoon, they decided to make both Roadblock and Inferno into the same character. It's fitting, since this retool echoes how G1 Grapple was a retool of G1 Inferno as a crane truck.
Well, funny story, Ironhide is typically kicked by someone who is an obvious Plastic Addict subject: *ALL* action figures of Kicker. So get to it, and step up on finding both the Microman and Joe versions of Kicker to toss into the white box of shame. The reason: absurd fragility.
I guess that is what I kind of like about Combiner Wars. Very simple construction and transformations for the most part. I hate transformers that have a ton of panels that need to be put together.
This toy would've been great for a BotCon exclusive Hauler. I know you've talked about your ideas of Cybertron Menasor being remolded into Omega Supreme and the repaints and remolds of the Constructicons before they became Decepticons and, I actually like the idea. It tells the tale of how the Constructicons before they would eventually side with the Decepticons and how Omega Supreme hates them to the point that he wants to get revenge on them. The closest toy I could find in the Unicron Trilogy that was a great representation of Bonecrusher was Armada Scavenger. And, this toy would be a great fit for Hauler as he is a repaint of Grapple. In the story, he would be the only Constructicon that would not join sides with the Decepticons. He would still side with the Autobots. Although, his role in the cartoon series itself is very small and almost nonexistent. It would've been great if we got a full backstory of how Omega Supreme learned to never trust the Constructicons and how Hauler came to be.
I think the reason Ironhide gets so much flaq compared to the rest of the Energon line because 1. He was the most annoying character in the show and was pretty much insufferable and 2. His head didn't even bury itself or anything. It just stayed there and stared ahead. If it had done what Roadblock here did and at least buried its had in its chest I think Ironhide would've gotten a bit less flaq. Or maybe not, idk. He still was pretty irritating in the show...i still have nightmares about his awful voice...
+Chris Fields (Fields Gaming) who's to say its glass? crazy space robots could very well have some crazy transparent alloy just as tough as metal, and it just looks like glass.

That means you could connect two of the same characters
Armada Skywarp is also a pretty heavy remold of the era. You could also maybe could Cybertron Runabout and Buzzsaw as well.
Runabout is a remold of a bad Armada toy.
The Unicron Trilogy Transformers characters need the Masterpiece treatment.
Agreed!
Roadblock's weapon had one more trick. Undocumented, it could split off, so the peg on the crane arm can be used. Weird, but it was doable.

I think those utility boxes are actually fold out stabilizers
I haven't known that Roadblock is his upgraded form until now. Thanks, man!
I'm in the minority who like energon- I find it ambitious
I'm with you.
@@lyokomajor Same
Same. By the way, the head transformation of roadblock reminds me of the one ironhide has. Just saying
It's not the energon toyline that everyone hates it's the cartoon.
And the characters
At a guess, either "potus cephalus" or "cephalus enpotus".
The closest I took to Latin was Bioscientific Terminology.

What about towline
+The Cyan Gimpsickle towline is even more stupid
@@gimpsickle5806 towline top + Ironhide bottom looks cool to me
Basically Energon Grapple.

ghazkul That's probably a knockoff.

Nice vid TJ! Good to see you reviewing more from Energon.
Potus Cranium lol
More like Butthead syndrome if you ask me.
TJ is it just me or did you get a similar vibe of Animated Jetfire/Jetstorm with the combining Roadblock with Inferno here?
Ojunix I got a choryujin vibe from it
In Japan/SuperLink Inferno and Roadblock were separate characters I believe.
It's actually pretty grim-
He combines with his corpse

Any one know what the song that plays when he opens the box in the Armada Hot Shot review called? Seems random but I really am curious
It is criminal only Landmine and Wing Saber were the only Energon characters to appear in Cybertron
14:16 i dub thee... _TWINFERNOh_ wait, that's what doublecross goes by nowadays.
He originally called Inferno Volt in Superlink.
I have a strong love for energon
In the toys only, the show can go burn in hell
Don't burn the show
Burn the show
Burn it in hell
Definitely

I just realized that Kingdom Ractonite’s head pays homage to this character
Can you do Energon Bulkhead.
5:21
I have the same issue on mine. Anyone else?
Inferno, vengeful for what the Decepticons did to him, "GET OVER HERE!"
what's you trick to get them to stand up
Did energon roadblock or armada smokescreen come first?
Armada came first.
I preferred calling the top part the shirt mode. ;) I've got Inferrno on my desk now. Never got Roadblock, unfortunately.
I guess that is what I kind of like about Combiner Wars. Very simple construction and transformations for the most part. I hate transformers that have a ton of panels that need to be put together.
Tjomega
Who was your 100th video review?
Its kinda funny...a crane truck and fire truck and yet identical bot heads...hyoryu and enryu much?

Do energon landmine plz
Potus cephalus is the phrase I think you want
He's like energon Tow Line. Legs become shoulder canons when he transforms to his torso mode.
except roadblock is awesome while towline kinda sucks
@@twilight_phantom2969 Tow-Line Never sucks.

Does Derek Audette still do music?
+OptimusPhillip Last I checked his site was still up but I haven't seen anything new from him in a long time.
Do a random review on Batman or Superman Toy, you know for Friday!
Do you happen to have Tidal Wave?
I think he does
he already reviewed it
What I know is Roadblock was named after a G.I. Joe Character.
Hey omega could you do a cybertron Optimus prime please
CJ GREAT VIDEO MAN u are awesome really u are and are u doing plastic addict still I hope because I love it
so in this PowerLinx Combo, RoadBlock is "touching" his past self. this is just as awkward as Energon Episode 32
What one is that I mean title
+The Cyan Gympsickle "Farewell Inferno"
+Mixey Boy thanks
**NOSTALGIA INTENSIFIES**
Poor inferno.
I never understood the logic of a group of warriors having breakable "glass" chests.
***** Oh! Now it makes perfect sense. lol

Taintbeard except they are regularly shown to have the glass cracked or broken
Chris Fields can someone send my sun a war for Cybertron magatron
I meant TJ sorry
Aka inferno
Awsome!!!
you let the child control the crane 'cause it doesn't have a driver's license, duh :P
That six-head

That would be pretty dope
Not the pants, the leg!
Legs not leg. There's 2 legs.
