    Beautiful finish, I got an Edelbrock head that gotten a terrible weld job done to it :( and I might be stuck dealing with shaping the chamber. So this video should help me out when it comes to that.

    This kind of machinist work has always greatly intrigued me. Tho my life’s journey has unfolded into transportation HVAC repair, I’ve often wondered how I would have fared within the machinists community.

    Nice work. I have done something similar to a cast iron head. Aluminum is a little easier to repair, but still a lot of precision work.
    We have used the 30 degree bowl hog as a top dresser for the seat blend into the chamber. It closely mimics the typical Newen seat extension into the chamber.

    I my drag racing days I seen a pro stock head let go and there was a cyl missing and was welded up I've never seen welding that could fix it but they were amazing stuff

    Brodix repaired my bb3x head after a valve went through a piston. Lots of damage to head. 8 weeks later it's hard to find where it was fixed. Nice work,delived on time as promised.

      Brodix does a nice job. But the only repair their heads which I totally understand.

    I remember 25-30yrs ago you could find hardly anyone that could weld cast! Aluminum heads was pretty pricey back then!

    I love the detail and narrative you provide, thank you! Does your guy who valves & ports the heads also cc them for volume and sign off, so they are compression-matched and competition legal?

      The customer had someone that was going to do the valve job and report and CC the heads he just wanted me to do the repair work.

    That’s amazing work, I did wonder does it hurt anything when u cut in new seats that the aluminum between them cracks out with the new seats in? I wasn’t sure if it mattered or not, I guess I was worried they might crack further down but I’m not sure. I have a set of aluminum brodix heads thAt have 2.02/ 1.6 valves but need repaired so I wasn’t sure if it’s worth fixing.

    Iam always amazed at the level of damage that be repaired these days by a highly skilled engineer.
