That engine is a real piece of art when its all together ! What a quality build to go out and put all the hemis on notice ! Great job!
Every engine is. When it's all together 😂
I had no idea Gerald was Damon’s engine builder. I’ve seen Chief take work to Gerald. Damon is hurting feelings at NPK this year. Great work Gerald. Your the man💪
Gerald and Damon are the best team out there, keep going and may the LORD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU ALWAYS BOYS.
Thanks
love this vid and seeing it go from broken pieces to RTR is very satisfying
It is very satisfying thank you man for turning me on to this guy's channel not only is he a very stand-up guy but you can just tell he's good at what he does and he appreciates and loves it
Gerald doing what he does, love the attention to detail and creative ways around a problem. You’re giving away your secrets…but, can’t give away the hand that accomplishes the work! 👍🏽
Attention to details!! 🔥🔥👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸
BUT not all the secrets! 👌🏽
Gerald said “HEMI LOL” Big Block Chevy to the MF front💪🏽
Lucky you were able to get that fixed for him because he's literally running up front right now in the points... You know he's doing well when you got other racers crying that he's got an illegal engine combo because they can't beat him automatically he must be cheating..I knowIf I was cheating I wouldn't let my engine builder post videos about it and I wouldn't talk about it myself , hopefully Jim howe sees this video and feels extra special ..
Thanks
Thank you for shareing how you fix the inevateable damage that happens when you race. It's amazing how long those engines manage to hold togeather when pushed to the limit each race and the skilled surgeons that manage to resrore them to health.
That thing looks as much like jewelry as a menace! Love it
That's impressive! Both the break and the repair. Neat to see a billet block up close.
Gerald your a very smart machinist, always impressed by your work.
Nice work Gerald.
Gerald you're the man!! Great repair!! Go Damon!. Excellent craftsmanship!.
Thank you sharing and passing along some knowledge Gerald!! Great video, keep em coming
Glad this came across my feed I knew Damon was doing well but to see something that’s not a Hemi is amazing 💪🏽💪🏽
I appreciate your content sir ! I really enjoy watching a craftsman of any trade work their magic.
Excellent craftsmanship!
Thanks for the video Gerald. Damon is definitely having a great season so far.
Mr. Brand you are the man.
Thank you for every content you make !. Really love to watch how you repair the motor. Feel like watching Magic ! 😲
Great content, this is what I like to watch!
That was awesome thanks very much Gerald 👍
Gerald you're the man!! Great repair!! Go Damon!
Great work as always! You do amazing stuff!
I've been to Gerald's a few times since I was a kid. My friend's dad Howard Whitson used him to build all his ford engines and several others I know have used him. it's great seeing the amount of knowledge he has that would normally just disappear out of existence one day shared online. totally understand not sharing all the secrets but simple things like ball valves on air tools blew my mind. thanks for sharing a part of your world with us.
Dr.Gerald, im always impress to see you work and engine
Very impressive. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
That is some cool repairs an the removal of the sleeves is the only way to go. Thank you for sharing.
🎉🎉MR BRAND YOUR MOTOR HAS OPENED UP A LOT OF EYES. NPK FINALS MORE THAN ONCE 😮 .I BEEN WATCHING ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS FOR CADDY JACK. 🎉🎉THUMBS UP AND GOD BLESS ALL
Great work. I like the ball valve added to the die grinder hose. I will do that to mine.
Well, I just learned a new way to deburr parts. Thanks!!!
That is really interesting how the sleeves come out like that! Damon seems like he was lucky that all the damage is repairable. I’m can only imagine how much it would be to replace the block along with all the parts. You are a very talented machinist Gerald! Always a great video from you!!👌👌👌
Your a true craftsman Gerald I really enjoyed this video
Nice work!
I cant tell you how happy I am to see a motor built by Gerald doing so good in NPK . Hopefully I can get a motor built by Gerald one day here soon
Awesome engine guy, that’s a piece of art and it’s working great!
Great job!
CSI Brand...😊🏁
I'm a fitter machinist by trade and your workmanship and skills are awesome. Nice stuff
Outstanding Gerald Outstanding, cleaned up nice, i hope Damon gets at least 2 wins this season, i wish i had the money for you too build him another Engine and have spare Rod's, Pistons, he's going to need a freshen up before the end of the season.
...awesome video ! No worries on not sharing proprietary information - a racer & their machinist need to keep that edge on the competition !...
Always look forward for a video from you! Retired, and just watch the performance and all the technical aspects that has changed from back when. You are a master of your craft no doubt! Ronnie East Tennessee
Thanks
Gerald u are by far one hell of a engine genius , thx for taking us along for the ride Damon is lucky to have you in OKC nice and close instead of traveling to a different state
Hey I picked him, he didn’t pick me 😂

❤Ruby❤ Precious Puppy❤ I love seeing Ruby on your videos.
You are awesome Mr. Gerald! Thx for sharing.
You're a very talented man!
Nice repair on the block Gerald.
That was pretty tore up.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Ed.
Thanks
🔥great work, really enjoy your videos and building knowledge 🔥👊🔥🔨⚙️🏍🚜
Nice work
That is a very cool puller you got there.
Three words !!!!
Well Done SIR
Nice work.
Great forensic analysis of the cause of the rod failure. Knowing the exact cause is really important to the racer so he can either change parts or in this case, adjust his maintenance program. I was amazed here that only one rod broke. Kind of unusual that the sister rod next to the failed rod also didn’t fail although it looks like it was on the verge. BTW, those are pretty thin cylinder sleeves there. Interesting method for removing them. Can also see why the engine makes so much power for a BBC. Those heads are amazing.
The video production work is top notch!
Jackie does good work
Amazing the great of condition those bearings are in.
Great video!
I learned so much from you my brother ❤
Thanks
Hey BRE! I'm so fascinated at your work techniques you having so much knowledge on all the machines and the processes to repair this equipment back to specks for these racers very Cool! The tutorials and videos are perfect!🤔😉👍📹💯✔️👋👋👋👋
Thanks
Amazing How well Team Rogue 405 are doing this year with this under dog combination 💪😊🤙
Great video sir!
You are the man Gerald. !!. You build one hell of an engine. Competing with all the super high dollar hemi’s. Kudos to you sir.
DID IT RUN A RACE YET ? LOL
@@kennieb5606yes, he did the initial build. it’s been more rounds in this year of NPK than any other combo out there.
Great video my friend.
Hi Mr. Brand. Good stuff. I learned a lot in this one. Loving it. Wearing my Brand Racing Engines shirt right now
thanks
I Am Really Impressed With This Video And This Engine!
Please Put Some More Videos On This Site!
Damon Seems Very Down To Earth And I Hope He Does Well!
Look Forward To Watching Him Race Again!
I was wondering if you guys could shed a little light on a problem I am having with my 400 SBC engine.I am 75 years old and I am trying to figure out why engine carries next to nothing oil pressure at idle and will go up around 30 lbs at 2200 RPM cruising around 55 MPH! It also will run warm (around 200 to 220) and I Had 2 10 inch fans pushing air and steel blade fan pulling air with a high volume water pump! Engine has been bored .030 , decked and balanced! It runs great and is quiet! I Have a very nice 55 Belair 2 DrHtop I've owned for 52 Years ànd the engine is in this car! I know you guys are busy but this problem is on my Bucket List so any help you can offer will be deeply appreciated! Thanks a bunch guys and put out some more of your great videos!

Love your channel!
I See Why Justin And Jackie Praise you Man i wished i could have had people like you in my life growing up LOVE your Videos I Have Learned SOOOO Much
Thanks
Those MBE heads are the sauce!
Just found your channel and...KILLER! If all you could see in your videos was just the actual work being done, it's dead on where l take my motors. A lot of shops talk the talk but walk, well you know. Marple Racing out of Winchester VA. and if you don't know where it's located, boy howdy, get ready for a fun filled ride. I'm looking forward to more content. Thanks man!
nice work, Mr.G! would be awesome to see an extended version of these types of jobs, if at all possible.
No wonder this combo is winning races what a master class engine builder .
Got Rouge hurtin feelings!
I find this very interesting. Please keep on doing these videos. Some of the stuff you can do is amazing. Later
Thanks
Good video. You really do nice work. Wish you were close to my location I’d use your shop for all my builds.👍
Always a learning experience watching your videos and thank you again for all your help with my sons motor
Everyone in Oklahoma slapping their face...Geralds phone ringing off the hook....well done sir!!!
Awesome work. I wish you would have shown how you found the center of the bore when cutting the groove for the wire ring.
the man!
Gerald and Ruby, y'all rock! Damon is lucky to have you as his engine builder. Peace
P.S. Thanks, Jackie, for the video!
Couldn't do it without their help.😃
I see you build engines for Damon and big chief both very successful drivers you are one hell of engine builder And repair machinist Gerald
Awesome. You might be able to answer a question that I've had and don't think I've seen. Some of those guys and gals run aluminum rods also. Has anyone tried sleeving them where the rod bolts screw in and now that I've seen this video where the rod pins go through? 🤷. I'm here just trying to learn. Them variables on those ecu's are like the line coding for cnc. Gotta make sure those alpha numerics and decimals and zeros and numbers are in the right position. 😁. TY for sharing.
I could watch you troubleshooting engines all day. Hard to do cause a lot of people think it’s always black and white which is far from the case with engines.
No sh**
He is Kicking Azz and taking Names in NPK and Running a BIg Block Chevy.
Great work!! So many videos about broken aluminum rods trashing the engine. Is aluminum that much better than steel H-beam or titanium rods? Or even CF rods? Good work, good luck!
Nice
Those. Main. Bearing s. Tells. Me. Alot. About. This. Repair
Yeah buddy
I’ve been using a die grinder wrong all these years. Never thought of a ball valve 🤦♂️👍
That's surprisingly little damage for such a big 'bang'
Pretty amazing it didn't punch a huge hole in the side of case, billet block must be incredibly strong.
Nice use of Portapower (?) ram much easier (and quieter), what interference fit are you using? (around 0.005"?)
Nice job GB ! Who was the mfg of that billet block ? I definitely enjoyed the vid with a great view! KUDO'S to Damon... he is showing them all how to get it done!
Respectfully, Seth
Talk to Steve Morris about r&r rods this looks familiar 👍
Is this the motor that everybody's whining about because he's kicking their butt
Yes it is
Your videos are awesome. Are those cool ass Brand racing engines t shirts avaliable?
You can get those at Midwest street cars
It definitely shows good oil pressure and set clearances you can run an engine at full nuts with regular rod changes it didn't happen over night took years of combined trial an error.
That's a neat trick on the sleeve sorry Chief that was not your motor
Wow! That damage looked a lot worse to me than you made it seem. So I assume all new rods/ pistons, repaired the crank, maybe a valve or two? Re sleeved a couple and cleaned up the cam area. Could have been much, much worse. The waller on the rods is just normal wear?
Its Crazy to see the difference in workshops between nr 1 and 2 in no prep kings. Noonan has marble floors and rooms are cleaner than a hospital ready for heart surgery.
It's good to see you don't have to spend crazy money to win.
Thanks
Enjoy watching. Have anyone to pass down those things you are unwilling to show? Would be a shame for those goodies to leave with you.
I know this video is old but why is Damon not in npk 7 especially after kicking butt last season? He come along way and is definitely a top competitor.
People promising things and they didn't come through with their promises.
Also Discovery channel not showing season 6 on the air hurt his chances of picking up some sponsors. I did everything I could to help him keep the car going. The motor ended up breaking the crank did Dallas hit the last race.
The way you pulled the sleeve out with the puller, is that method ok to use on most types of sleeved motors, eg: rover v8, thanks for sharing your knowledge
Yes Thanks
