    Thanks for your video Darren!
The squirrel races you had to endure cracked me up. :-)
I and a buddy, and maybe my brother plan to ride the Magruder Corridor on ATV's next year. I'm looking forward to it!

I live in that area. I haven't heard of a grizzly in 20 years. Plenty of wolves, black bear and lion though

I heard of a ghost town in that area somewhere called Habel City, have you ever heard of it?

I make a trip to Idaho from MN most years and drove across the Magruder the other way, 2014 or 15. Same car camping setup but in a Honda Fit so wheels on the ridge, not in the ruts. I remember those 5 mph stretches zig zagging rocks, and occasionally stopping to get out and move a couple. Got across Lolo doing the same a year earlier, also in September, which is the time of year Lewis & Clark almost died there in the snow.

@@Bitterrootbackroads they've done a lot of improvements to the road but there are still some pretty narrow stretches

The reason the Nez Pierce crossed the rugged mountans instead of a lower easier rout along the salmon river is because the Blackfoot were set up along the Salmon .
    Very violent tribe.
There is alot of cool indian hostory that shows in the mountains. You see alot of the tree notches in the trees the Nez Pierce used to mark their trails as well as directio..
You gota look up a ways now to see them but they can be easily seen.

I'm thinking about going back up there this summer. Hopefully no fires! I'll look for the notching in the trees. Thanks!

Can you tell us about your hitch carrier? Thanks..

Of course! It's a Rigd Ultraswing Hitch Carrier with a Thule T2 Pro bike rack. It's great, sturdy, doesn't rattle and easy to access the rear of the 4Runner. Rigdsupply.com
