    Keep the bus, you don’t have to have a place to “go”, just go camp, it’s awesome family time! I’m on my third coach in 17 years, I’m 53 with 5 kids and we love it. In a Foretravel Realm now and I’m just fine with letting her sit for a few months at a time in the winter, so worth it!

    OH keep it. You need to find a purpose for it. I bought a Motorhome fixed it up used it a few times then thought about getting rid of it as I was the only one in the family who liked it.. Then I found a purpose. I golf and joined the Veterans golf Association so I take it to all those events. My pals come we grill out play golf and enjoy the hell out of it. Look the kids are going to leave you soon, My did, keep the bus and find a purpose to use it..
    wish you well..

    Why were your camping fees so high ? $1200? EAA advertises Scholler non electric sites for $50/night and $75/night for electric.
    I'm not a pilot, but I intend to go to Oshkosh one of these years.

    • @CampPrevost
      @CampPrevost  2 роки тому +2

      So they get you by holding and then releasing the electric sites on 6.24. If you book a site on 6.24, you pay $75 a night through 7.31. So it’s a gamble - wait 2 days and a few sites are taken. Wait another 2 day and a few more are taken - but you just saved $300. I watched the site a few times a day and all the sites were taken by 10:30pm the middle of July - so was around 16 days I had to pay for even though I only used 6. I believe you can stay the entire time you book though. As you can see in the video we were still a mile away. Motels were around $600 a night that week too. I love Oshkosh but 3 days is enough if it helps.

    huh!!!!! 33 states and no place to go???? you need to open up and expand your horizons. I've been all over the world and all states and I still find America that needs to be seen and explored. if you can't find something of interest or beautiful here, maybe you should go elsewhere.

    Any tips for bringing a large mh to eaa campground. I am going to airventure this year with my 40ft Monaco. I don't want to get it stuck if there is alot of rain making the camping area muddy. I'm getting there 2 days before it starts hoping to get a decent site.

    • @CampPrevost
      @CampPrevost  Рік тому +2

      It’s a mess at best - in regards to the camping. The electric spot I got in the video doesn’t open online reservations until about a month before the event. And you have to pay for everyday (at $75 a day, can’t remember) from the day you book the site through the end of July. Everyday you wait (you save $75) but risk loosing the site. I think the other spots are first come first serve - and most of them start filling up days to weeks before the event starts. And some of the spots are miles from the entry. Kinda sucks. I ended up paying $1,200 for my spot and was one of the last spots - I waited hoping to book late to get a lower cost. So I booked 16 days - and only used 5…. There are some private grounds around - but think the people in those spots have them reserved 10 years in advance. In regards to the sites - we were lucky and it was dry, very dry. If it rained, it would be a mess at best. It’s farmed land the other 50 weeks of the year. I enjoy Oshkosh - the camping reservations not so much. Good luck!!! If you know a secret let me know.

    • @CampPrevost
      @CampPrevost  Рік тому +1

      It sure is! It used to be TSD and is now open roads. Just being able to see fuel prices is awesome, let alone being able to pay at the semi pumps. Then add on a $.10-$.80 per gallon discount is crazy! And I don’t think there was a cost, just have to link you bank account (which scares some but been fine for 3 years!)

    You said it cost $1400 or $1200 to stay how many days do you have to make reservations and what are their phone numbers thank you KY

    • @CampPrevost
      @CampPrevost  Рік тому

      So I stayed at the Oshkosh campgrounds - the full hook up ones. The way they do it kinda sucks. I can’t remember the daily cost (maybe $30-60 per night). They open it up for reservations like 45 days prior to the last week of July. When they open it up all the sites are available but you have to pay the nightly fee from the date of booking through the end of July. So if it’s $45 a night and you book 45 days out it will cost you $2,025. If you wait a day it will be $45 less but the some of the spots might be gone. I watched it everyday and they started going quick and got it when it cost like $1,200. That’s for the full service at camp scholer - I think you can get a non power site for less

      Its crazy the way they do it. Like 65-80 a day but you have to pay for the days you book it through the end of the month. So if you book it the first day it’s 30 x $80. But wait a day and risk others getting a site. I think I jumped in at 16 days so was almost $1000.

      Ha! There is always someone with more. That’s what keeps the drive to be better though. Life wouldn’t be as fun if everyone had everything. Most of the fun is the trip, not the final destination.
