- Andy Serkis's performance as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies was impressive, especially during a challenging scene in near-freezing water. Despite the film's warm appearance, the set had snow, requiring hours to clear. Serkis's dedication, acting in such harsh conditions, added authenticity to Gollum's character.
Man Andy Serkis needs to get a lifetime achievment award for his Gollum performance!
Honestly there are a few roles he deserves very high praise for. I thought he was amazing as Caesar as well for instance!
I lost anybrespect I ever had for the Oscars when Andy Serkis was disqualified from the Best Supporting Actor category.
I really hope he will one last time give his 100% as Gollum in the new movie. Man is a living legend.
That would require a loot of dedication and sacrifice and those actors are not getting younger 😂
@@sharpclaw24 Yea, but Andy Serkis looks like he is still in a good enough shape to play Gollum, idk about Viggo Mortensen and Ian McKellen though.
What new movie? More trash?
@@stellviahohenheim Peter Jackson's movies aren't trash they aren't as good as the books but I've never seen a movie that perfectly resembles the books
How can you not LOVE Andy serkis. He's the man
It was worth it because that scene turned out phenomenal
If you have ever been in an ice bath, you understand the pain he had to go through before the numbness set in. Meanwhile, he had to act the whole way through.
My hat is off to Andy.
He also does a killer job voicing all of the characters in his reading of the audiobooks.
Does he read The Lord of the Rings books or did he just read The Hobbit? If he did read LOTR, I'm going to have to buy it at some point! :) I already have his reading of The Hobbit and it was totally awesome! I also have Rob Inglis's reading of both, and they're great, too, in their own way--but Andy really yanks you in hard with his reading of The Hobbit! Inglis's readings of The Hobbit and LOTR will always have a special place in my heart, though, because that's one of the ways I first read them. :)
Everything about the making of this film just shows how amazing the trilogy really is. It feels like a true passion project from everyone involved
Jackson had a couple of guys out of camera near Andy, in case he'd start slide towards the waterfall. Luckily, he didn't.
The more I lean aboutnrgis man and his time as gollum... the more I'm in awe.
THE BEST FILM SERIES OF ALL TIME. BEST WRITTEN SERIES OF ALL TIME.
ALSO THE BEST FANTASY NOVEL SERIES OF ALL TIME.
@@P.Whitestrake goes without saying.
Bro's throwing himself onto real rocks and near a cliff😮....that's called dedication
Visiting Nz I recognised this spot coming down from Mt Ruapehu . I have photos of my family climbing all over place . There’s a drop of a slight waterfall where the guards looking down could shoot Gollum . It was just on the side of the road . 😂
I jumped into a little pool at the bottom of a waterfall once. When i hit the water it was so cold that underwater i gasped from the shock of it and sucked in a bunch of water. And it wasn't even snowing. I could not imagine hitting that icy water 🥶
The only good thing about being that cold is that your skin is too frigid to bleed. You don't bleed until you warm up, hours later.
Imagine if he actually droped down on the waterfall. I bet Jackson would have left it in the movie.
It's a very steep drop, pretty sure he would've died.
Melting the snow, not expecting climate change hits so hard
Is it true Andy serkis has never been nominated for an Oscar?
What are the circumstances that create a movie set where the line
"Oh, it snowed a bit last night"
He has the most un-Gollum voice.
Ngl I kinda hated this scene, Gollum has been fishing with his bare hands for like a thousand years and he’s still struggling? I just don’t buy it. 🤷♀️
Um, if there is a cliff, but you are filming from in front of him, you really shouldn't be afraid of him falling off.
