Not gonna lie, the g1 on taught me the basics about life in music
Can i ask u if the G1on is the same as B1on ? or g1 for guitar and b1 for base only
@@xxheisenburnintell9244 B1 is for bass, but you can put the effects of the G1 on it
The older one is a little bit crunchier. I have the G1on with the pedal. Fun to use.
The G1on (older) is like arcade mode in a racing game. The newer G1x is like simulation mode, much more realistic :)
My advice, pickup Zoom g1four as you can mod the 1 to 5 button into actual foot stomp button specially helpful in stomp mode. You will not regret it.
G1x Four sounds more cleaner and open than G1on, particularly on the Twin Reverb model.
G1X Four - better user interface and sounds more real to me. Both are great though.
The g1on has a more fuzzy tone but the G1X four sounds less boxy and more realistic to me, there both really good though for what they are.
Totally agree, both are good and each have their own sound.
Really good comparison, really well done. Thank you very much.
Both are great pieces of gear but the new one is one step further. Sounds so realistic directly but I dont know how is it through an amp.
Thanks, much appreciated and agreed, both are great.
the older model somehow sounded better??? wtf???
I thought so too.
I agree. And it has more amp models to choose from. Weird.
@@randysutton2120 Not only that. The zoom G1on has the cabinet option included in the amp model so the cab does not require an independent slot and the zoom g1on has 100 editable presets against the 50 presets in the zoom G1 four. Not only that.
The zoom G1on if powered by battery last more hours than the zoom Gfour in according to the technical data on the manual. I use my zoom G1on connected at my powerbank (5V) to avoid ground noises. So my question is why to buy the new model ? In my opinion zoom made a step back with the new model.
@@fabioa.565 I completely agree. I'm honestly a bit confused by the new model. I could understand having less versatility if it sounded much better, but it sounds worse...
Zoom G1xfour has a cabinet sim ,but it requires another slot in effects chain. And you can edit , add ,remove and update effects using zoom Guitar lab application. So the effects you only use will be in the unit. I have this processor
I have a g1on and a g3n I run them in series. I use the g3 as an amp sim just the fender Dlx with cab rev and a limiter and the very end of the chain it takes all the available slots but 1 to use this way. Basically 3 presents with different dynamics. The I use the g1on as a preamp using the the fd dlx or ms1959 at very low gain with no verb into the g3 it gets nice sag. I can run right into a board or logic and is very usable for low or medium gain sounds. I haven’t done anything high but I’m sure setup would chug with right guitarist...
The g1xfour models sound like g1on model but with preEQ. Somehow that makes it sound closer to the original amps. G1on sounds flatter and more fuzzy
Good description of the difference 👍🏻
Listen and compare the especifications , is the same sound quality , but zoom g1 four is better than zoom g1xon in design and controls
nice comparison. G1xon has simple & fast looper function. i can change patch faster & easier to overdub. i hope zoom will give longer looper recording time on their affordable multi effect pedals.
Thanks for the comparison. As you have used both, wich one you prefer for headphone practice? Is there any setting when using it with headphones since the same output is used to amp conexion?
They are both really good but if I was going to buy one now, I would probably lean toward the G1X Four. Mainly because it is newer, still has support for it and new amps/effects are still be released for it, which is always nice to try new sounds. In regards to headphone settings, it has different settings if you are using headphones or going into an amp but out of the box it is set to be used with headphones.
I don’t know your specific use case but if you don’t mind being tethered to the laptop/computer, the Zoom GCE-3 is an interesting device. All the sounds of mostly the current Zoom line up and excellent for headphone practice and recording. Just an alternative suggestion that you might find interesting. Good luck 👍🏻
i was playing on my g1 on today morning amazing sound u can get out of that small box and righ now are only 50 buck used lol lol .less is more.
It is an amazing little unit and is packed with tons of great sounds.
I just looked on Amazon, and the used G1Xon model is already up to $159.99.
Randy Sutton Wow 😯
that's a lot of money. In my country (Italy) the zoom G1xon new costs about 70$ on Amazon. 60$ for the one without the expression pedal (g1ON)
I bought my g1Xon new, a year ago, for 55€ (60 USD). I'm in Spain. It's no longer available now because they discontinued it when g1 four was born (that's why the last units were so cheap). BTW the g1xon is not in the same category as g1 four. The old model was higher end level and originally it was more expensive.
@@glassbox7761 but man, why you think it? I'm curious
g1xfour too muddy like somebody put a blanket on the amp....im back to g1xon
Thanks Chris! Both of these sound great! I agree with your comment below with the nod going to the newer model because of software. Are these also able to be used as an interface with the computer? I don't want much! lol. Looking for that old tweed sound but the Bassman and a few others can be dialed in to a great tone. Thanks again.
Unfortunately, neither of these will also act as an interface to the computer. ☹️
Cual es mejor amigos estoy en aprietos??
G1XFOUR
@@cinemavennus si
Opa!
which crankset has better simulations, Zoom G1 four or Digitech RP 360?
Emanuel David My vote would go to the G1X Four.
G1XON IS A GOOD STUDIO PEDAL YOU CAN PLUG YOUR GUITAR INTO THE G1XON then plug out into your Behringer umc 404 sound card directly and play and record with no amp apps any thing you want as it was your amp in your room then tweak sound in your studio with features of your studio if you wish with tweaking on each patch effect you can make it sound beyond better then g1 x four because it has more sounds to tweak i have both g1xon and zoom g9.2tt they both get used a lot in the studio for different reasons
Thanks for the awesome feedback
Mais comparando as duas por favor 😁
which one i should buy...just for instrumental videos which one will be better?? please suggest
They are both great economical pedal but if I had to select between just these two I probably would lean toward the G1X Four.
As an alternative, I would recommend you look at the Valeton GP-100 and the Nux MG-300. Both are excellent multi-effects and run around $150. Plus these two units allow you to load impulse response, which a great for crafting a patches sound.
@@Tone-Quest Thankyou so much bro
Zoom Effect Manager - 1.1.0 ====> ZOOM G1ON = MS70 = MS50 best soft
what? If i buy a zoom g1on can a turn it into a ms50?
@@arkada y u cant and ms70cdr
all of you just buy the G1 Four and be done with it. Superior mfx unit all together.
I am mid-expert . Which is finally best for semi acoustic and electric??
G1x4
Thanks Chris....is the G1 Four more user friendly ?
I find the G1 Four super easy to use if you use the ZOOM Guitar Lab application or the third party ToneLib-Zoom application. I find configuring the G1 Four on the actual device a little confusing but that may be because I learned how to configure on the G1on first. I think the G1on is super easy to configure on the actual device. Luckily now, you can even configure the G1on with the ToneLib-Zoom application if you too like using the computer to build patches.
Chris Benton thanks.....Two quick questions… Any difference with the looper and drums on the two models… And using the looper can you change effects with overdubs and keep original layers...So you don’t have to use an effects loop… If that makes sense appreciate it
@@sneadmc I would say the drums are on par with each other but the loopers are a little different. The Looper is easy to use on both but on the G1X Four you can record your loop, stop it and move to a different patch but then the loop plays using whatever patch you have moved to. Thus with the G1X Four there isn't a way to layer a loop with different patch sounds.
However the G1on, I was able to record a loop using one patch, stop the loop move to a different patch and then start the loop playing again and it retained the sound the loop was originally recorded in. So for my example with the G1on, I recorded a rhythm guitar using one patch sound, stopped the loop, moved to a new patch and started the loop playing again. The loop rhythm played with the sound of the patch it was recorded with and then I solo'ed using the sound of a different patch. So I like the G1on method of looping a little better.
Chris Benton Chris thanks for all the information and for all your work reviewing these products may have to go back to the G1on....The looper was one thing that interest me… Thanks again
Mark Snead my pleasure, good luck.
What would you say it´s better among gt-1, g1x four, g3xn or rp360xp?
It depends on what you would do with the device. I would recommend the zoom g1on / g1 four in particularly for study at home and if you want bring a little device with you for occasionally gigs and you don't want spend much money. The zoom has the best ratio quality/price in my opinion.
Got both gt1 and g1xon. I say gt1 sound's more organic and g1xon more flexible. G1xon can do more experimental stuff. Up to you to choose.
Jesuschrist the G1ON beat G1Four ass so bad.
I thought so
@@melorogerio nope.
I have been playing acoustic guitar for 4 years .now i wanna play electric guitar. so which one will be better for me. G1xon or G1xfour... Help me please..
I think either one would be fine. The newer one looks a tad bit easier to use IMO, but for just starting out It probably won't make a huge difference either way.
Older= much better, more versatility, less user friendly. Newer= very easy to use, better looking, some say best modeled amps.
Zoon g1on win
no
G1 on wins
sorry to say but no
Which one do you prefer?
Nathan Bartlett I like the amp models and effects in both. I think the G1on has a little more aggression amp models, as in the break up faster but if I had to pick one I would probably go with the the G1X Four because I love the ability to program patches via the amp on the computer and most importantly you can back up patches using the app.
@@Tone-Quest Hi there, First at all, I like your review about Zoom pedals, which helped me to realize what the zoom g1on value is. It´s tiny pedal and so powerful at the same time. Recently I decided to buy Zoom g3n, but I watched a video of yours for upgrading this unit and I didn't buy it. Anyway, I don't know if you find out of this software, that is very interesting and it does that you said in the comment before. That is Tonelib Zoom software. it allows you, save, manage, ... It's really impresive! Check their website and all their software. tonelib.net/zoom-quick-start/
