Ohio state wins by 2 scores minimum and control the game start to finish. Texas defense has struggled in the playoff and the offense has struggled all season
@@jeffreyprice9790 No. You did not watch the game vs. ASU did you? Texas' defense played very well against ASU until the very end of the game after they were worn out. The offense of Texas is more of the issue for Texas.
@@jeffreyprice9790 again you obviously did not see the game. ASU had 3 points and 178 yards at half. Skateboard had 45 yards on 13 carries so less than a 3.5 average per carry. Maybe a little more yards than I would have liked but 3 points is great. Also the Texas offense was not doing anything. ASU had 8 points at the end of the 3rd. Again that is great. Still no offense by Texas since quick scores to start the game. Texas scores again and it is 24-8 with 7 minutes to go in the game. Then there is the big trick play to score and then the next drive Skattebo gets pulled into the end zone by his teammates. No penalty. So again for almost the whole game me ASU drives the ball little but does not score. The defense gets exhausted and ASU starts to score. If Texas has just a couple good offensive drives in the game before the end of the game and I think it is clear that ASU does not come back. You have no clue
Watching your show is the first time I looked up the stats after being told all week how OSU would dominate Texas. I didn’t realize that the offensive stats kind of show Texas as the slightly more potent offense. Quinn has 3200 passing yards to Will’s 3500 but he was also out for 2-3 games and if you add Manning’s 940, Texas has more passing yards. OSU has two 925-yard backs. Texas has a 1020-yard and a 720-yard back. Edge to OSU. The most surprising stat to me was the distribution among receivers. All week I’ve heard about OSU having too many weapons for Texas to contain but it’s mainly three guys: Smith (1225), Egbuka (900) and Tate (610). Scott and Henderson are next with a little over 200 each. Texas is the team with a greater distribution of weapons: Golden (940), Helm (745), Bond (530), Wingo (450), Moore (425), Blue (310), Wisner (270) and Bolden (245). That’s eight guys with significant yardage to OSU’s five. We can go back and forth about SOS but end-of-year SOS rankings have Texas at 11 and OSU at 8 (SOR is 5 and 4, respectively). This is going to be a bit more of a game than advertised.
A few things. Yes it’s gonna be a great game imo. But all those stats mean little when you’re judging this OSU team now. They totally changed the offense in the 3 weeks heading into Tennessee. Changed the run scheme, passing concepts, aggression. It’s totally different. It’s the offense we expected all year.
@@JuckOnBucks I would have agreed with you for most of this week. I've caught quite a few OSU games this year because I have a relative who is an alum and we watch CFB together. They've definitely looked more impressive in the last two games. However, if you look at the numbers - the big change on offense is adding about 50 passing yards to their season average (263.4 season; 319 vs. Oregon; 317 vs. Tennessee). However, the Oregon numbers did not shift from their meeting (326). Tennessee has not been good against the pass all year, so are we overcounting this statistic? The OSU run game basically stayed the same against their season average (169.1 average on the season; 181 vs. Oregon; 156 vs. Tennessee), though their rushing against Oregon did improve from the first meeting (141). All in all - I think they will likely still pull it off because they have momentum - but the smart bet is probably on them not covering the spread.
@analogee6858 I think too much can be put on stats unless you look at them relative to each team and how you do against all other teams against them. Eye test counts for a lot especially this time of year. OSU and UT have similar talent but it's how that talent is meshing with the play calling and meshing together. Should be a good one. Turnovers could be the difference. Definitely an X factor.
Texas played 1 more game then OSU. OSU avg yards per play 6.96, Texas 6.29. That .7 yards per play is big difference! In fact only 2 teams avg more then OSU. Miami and Ole Miss.
This game sets up a lot different than the last two. I don't see Texas playing very much man, we'll probably see a lot of too high zone out of them. So Ohio state will probably have to sustain drives and not be getting those big plays. The buckeyes will have to throw underneath early to set up double moves or play action to get deep. If the buckeyes start the game with a couple 6 to 10 play drives scoring touchdowns and getting a couple three and outs it will go a long way to securing a two score win as that will eat up most of the first half then all they have to do is trade scores.
Horn fan here man, i like your show! I may even subscribe! OH, and FYI, JK Barrett is from La Grange, TX....my niece went to school with him there and says he was a great kid! I hate, for him, that he's struggled with injuries though...
Thanks buddy, I appreciate the story! Never heard a bad thing about him. Salt of the earth type of guy. Best of luck in the Cotton Bowl. I think we’re in for a good one
I’m from Ohio, but graduated from UT. You guys make some really good points. I would add that if Cam Williams and Isiah Bond are both healthy that potentially changes the complexion of this game. Where I disagree is that if UT loses, the fans will view this season as a failure. The expectations were to at least play in the national championship game. And the expectations for Quinn were that he would be a first round draft pick and he hasn’t lived up to that.
It scares me to death how most people are picking the Bucks. The only thing that gives me some hope is after the Tennessee game people were saying the same thing and Oregon fans were saying they loved it because they were going to win and we saw how that turned out. Great show! College football with Sam is the best all around B10 show on UA-cam
Not sleeping on Texas, just believing in those Buckeyes. Sam when he talks reminds me of that kid from the sixth sense, lmfao but I watch his channel too. Also I love the sweatshirt, do you have a link or any deets?
I lived in Lewis Center, OH for about 9 years, in Raleigh now. Had a neighbor who was a huge Penn State fan, alumni. They would always throw a big neighborhood Halloween party.
I don’t think the ceiling of the Texas offense is the problem, I don’t think they’ve reached anywhere close to their ceiling. The difference Ohio States offense has a much higher floor and has been much more consistent in the playoffs
For Sam, the defensive line has had a problem for several years now. Those of us in the peanut gallery have talked about it. Did Larry Johnson lose his fastball or is it the obvious disagreement between him and Jim Knowles. Clearly they worked out their difference with how everything should happen. And they brought Caleb Downs closer to the line of scrimmage almost like a linebacker.
I’ve been saying that we are possibly over confident and that could come back to bite us in a bad way. Teams who feel they have nothing to lose and that everyone is betting against them tend to let it go on the field a little more. I’m pulling for my bucks but would be lying if I said it would be a cakewalk
I disagree with Sam on the oline. If those injuries didn't happen I believe that oline would have been best in the country. Recruiting isn't there yes but can we really talk down on the development tho. I'm open minded on the subject
Horn fan. I am definitely worried about the Buckeyes. OSU is played better than anyone else in the playoffs so far. Texas has struggled in different ways. Texas can definitely win this game. Texas has a great defense. I think the big thing will be if Texas can move the ball and sustain any drives on offense. They did not vs. ASU and that was how ASU came back. Maybe the two most complete teams in CFB and should be a good game especially if both teams are playing well.
The reality is Ohio state isn't that much better than both Tenn and Oregon. If you've ever coached you know that 18-22 year old young people can be hard to predict. If either team comes out flat it will be a long night for them.
OSU is absolutely beatable. The 2005 USC was said to be unbeatable, but we all know what happened. The issue with Texas is the discipline or lack thereof. The penalties are atrocious. The running game is inconsistent, and I don't see it improving against a great defensive team like OSU. Our RBs and TEs are relegated to help the sometimes maligned O-line in max-protection for the non-mobile Quinn Ewers. OSU will go all out in getting to Ewers, and if successful, it's over. Our defense will keep us in the game, but it will not be enough. The willful Howard is too experienced and is a legitimate dual threat. Texas doesn't have a kicker to win if the game is close. Sadly, I got OSU winning this game by two TDs. I hope I'm wrong. It's been a great season. Hook'Em \m/ ~v~
I really would like to disagree on Texas' ceiling. 33 seems more ceiling if you look at weapons and potential. Obviously, they would have to put it all together like OSU has in the last 2 games. They have a talented offense in all spots.
And then there's The New Chip Kelly - Chip the Innovator is back in the house! ua-cam.com/video/vmJVNhtaXco/v-deo.html TX, unlike Tenn & Ore, better be prepared from the get go!
All season I was wondering if/when OSU was gonna wake up and realize they’re superior to every other team in college ball. Sadly for my Horns, they chose the worst time for us. I hope Texas wakes up this week and we at least make it a game.
Less confident about this game than I was for TN and OU. I do believe that OSU has been sandbagging a little bit with the slow pace during the season. I’m expecting Tate to have a good game. This game will come down to UT scripted plays and the middle 8. OSU survives those I like their chances.

Weren't we talking about Tennessee having the deepest and possibly best d line in the country? Look what we did to those boys. I know texas is really talented but like, idk oregon and Tennessee both had awesome d lines as well, and Penn State. Should we be scared of this texas d line considering these things?
I feel a lot like I did back after the Bama game in 2014/15. I was more worried about Bama than Oregon and that is what worried me about 2014 😂. I feel the same this year. Oregon worried me more than any remaining teams and that's unsettling 😂😂😂

I think ohio state makes another statement against texas. We dont need to reinvent the wheel or get too creative texas defense has given up 1000 yards in 2 playoff games. Ohio states defense can win this game for us. Texas isnt very good in the redzone and ohio states defense is the best redzone D. Looking at the numbers i dont think theres anyway ohio state loses this game outside of the coaching staff deciding to call the game like they did michigan which isnt gonna happen.
Because they aren’t a dangerous Texas team. The only legit team they’ve played they lost to twice, and Georgia didn’t even play good those games. Clemson almost made a come back and Arizona St should have beat them. They have only played 2 top 20 defenses. Michigan at #11 and Oklahoma at #19. Lots of talk about Buckeyes not having played a defense like Texas, meanwhile Bucks have played 7 top 20 defenses. In reality a mistake prone Ewers is about to face a defense light years better than anyone Texas has faced. Expect blowout #3 from Buckeye team of destiny.
Blah blah blah heard it all before juck. How come every time we play someone it's for the defacto natty and then all the sudden the next week the new team is dangerous?
Definitely. I don’t much stock in to their single game grades. I watch the film. He isn’t wrong nor are the grades. The run blocking has not been good but it hasn’t had to be with the pass blocking being good enough to facilitate this insane run through the air
If you don't think Ryan Day needs fired, if we don't win the Natty this year, then you're part of the problem and the reason we will always be at a dead end. For a 100% fact, we lose this game against Texas. Everything is lined up for them to win.
No, I think its natural with the ways the Bucks are playing, and with the way the Longhorns have been playing. Just from the eye text no way Texas should win this game .... doesnt mean they cant, but they shouldnt.
OSU fan here. Texas scares me, and most reasonable buckeye fans are not taking this game lightly. IT WILL BE A BATTLE!

You’re right. A loss here and the talk is angry again. Huge fave to win. But not as angry.
Absolutely

Boooom
Im going to the game. I paid $950 for my ticket
cotton bowl? where you sittin?

We are going to have 4 "Nattys" in one season at this rate lol
100%.
Every team that has similar talent and knows how to win close games is dangerous
PFF grades are so overrated.
Everything is lined up for them to win.
you are delusional

No, I think its natural with the ways the Bucks are playing, and with the way the Longhorns have been playing. Just from the eye text no way Texas should win this game .... doesnt mean they cant, but they shouldnt.
