- In this video, I give a quick overview of "effect size," what it means, some examples - and how it is different from statistical significance with p-values.

Nicely stated. Good review with simple words to use when explaining the results of my research!
Thanks!!! Very helpful and understandable.
very well explained, thank you!
this was so helpful, thank you!
really great explanation!
thank you so much, you saved me
Ty very much
Great job. You helped me
You are welcome!
Thanks! I referenced this video in a statistics class assignment as your examples really made the concept tangible. However, I couldn't find any information about you or your channel partner's names for proper citation! It would be nice to know a little bit more about who the two of you are!
So glad we could help out for your class! We're working on some extra things to help everyone get to know us a little better--thanks for the idea!
Nice explanation, so my estimated beta value should have a practical meaning or significance rather than just being statistically significant, right? Many reviewers always look for statistically significant results. Does effect size estimate will work ?
Both are important. Generally, reviewers will still want to see statistical significance before accepting a claim, but now you also should mention effect size to put that result in context. For example, my study and my friend's study might both show that caffeine disrupts REM sleep with a p-value of 0.03 (a significant result), but if my effect size is trivially small and theirs is large, then my study is not convincing whereas theirs is very convincing.
Thanks.
