    Just found out I'm getting tested in literally a week , so i hope this prepares me , even a little bit, for my appointment!

  • @Rocksaplenty
    @Rocksaplenty 2 дні тому

    I got the 11! With bigger batches I subitize a batch then another one, and if I keep doing areas I can get close enough to the actual count in my daily life! I use this with yard work, various things sitting around, just sorta... For fun. Unfortunately I don't know how many I can do at once before this semi-accidental training. I think my max is probably 11-15 at most. It feels awkward to mention this, but I scored a 163+ on a state DB5 test for IQ, and it's genuinely hard for me to find information on how I can use that to more effectively live for me and others. I have various handicaps which led to the testing. It might also give me blind spots to how other people perceive events, and be a handicap in some aspects. I think content on the subject is sparse, and your style would be awesome to learn from on it! Your scriptwriting is very good. I have a tiny suggestion, if you had a habit of ending a take in the intended pose (or close to it) then matching it, might make the video more... Smooth? I don't think it would need to be exact. As a bonus, you mentioned inattentional blindness, and I feel like for long time viewers it would be an awesome extra factor to add to that video. "Did you notice all the cuts ended in x way?" Take care!

We support neurodiversity affirming therapies like Occupational Therapy (where the focus is on building real life skills) and Speech Therapy (to encourage verbal or nonverbal needs communication) as alternatives to ABA. I’m autistic, iq of 156, started talking at 4 months, could count money at 1 year old, and was singing in church by myself at 2 years old. Always in gifted/honors/AP classes, always top of the class in tests (could never turn in homework), I play 16 instruments, can draw pretty damn well. I taught myself AutoCAD/Revit and now am nearly a fully licensed architect without going to college for it….. Not bragging, this video just makes sense of my life because I can’t get myself to do ANYTHING outside of my special interests. Taxes? Filed late. Blood test? Was supposed to get that done months ago. Car problems? I think my tires hate me 😅

    Wow! Never heard the term “witching hour” before, it has a negative connotation (exorcists refer to the 3am hour as the witching hour because of high demonic activity 😮), so I find it off-putting, thanks for this video. I would go for the other names you suggested, perhaps calling it a “sleepy hour,” or the “low charge zone” would be more appropriate and not as spooky. 😊

    Yes, there are some areas in which autistic people could excel (though in my experience they are mainly academic and /or relatively useless toward living a normal adult life). But as an autistic person, I definitely believe that AT THE END OF THE DAY AUTISM IS A FLAW THAT CAN MAKE YOUR LIFE VERY HARD. From years of experience I can say that, even if you might be intelligent in certain areas, if you're an aspie in the workplace you're TREATED as weird / stupid at best, or are fired at worst.

    As an autostic person, i have been told that i lack empathy and taking an empathy test seemed to confirm that. But i didn't understand how that could be given how strongly i feel the emotions of others. I don't always portray that i understand how others feel since i will admit to being somewhat selfish and being more concerned about my own feelings than i am the feelings of others. It doesn't mean i don't understand how they feel or even commiserate, i just often find myself caring less about how they feel than about the mess of my own emotions at the time. I tend to feel regret about how i made others feel after the fact, just not during the situation as i'm more concerned about my own feelings.

    It seems like it might be more socially acceptable for girls to be seen as quiet or shy (which could be a result of not understanding social situations and/or avoiding speaking to avoid getting in trouble or making a mistake socially). Girls are praised for being quiet and well behaved, and social awkwardness can sometimes be seen as cute or endearing, especially if the person is considered pretty or attractive.

    My chromosomes are xx. But when you look deeper into my genes, my esr1 receptor genes, that should be there given that im xx are...absent. so while the outside of my body looked female i do not have the primary estrogen receptors. That classifies me as endocrine intersex. I didnt learn that until I was in my 30s. Long before knowing that i started identifying as i currently do. Ive continued my transition and have found it overall helpful. Im also autistic, which i suspected but wasnt diagnosed with until in my 30s.

    Intersex conditions are mutually exclusive from gender incongruence. I've found that those with intersex conditions feel that this lack of understanding, dilutes their much less known about challenges. And some of the unnecessary medical procedures they were put through as children. Put some other ways: intersex does not mean you are trans*; trans does not mean you are intersex; most people that are trans are not intersex, but some trans are intersex as well; some intersex people are trans, some intersex people aren't. Replace trans* with your favourite gender incongruent terminology. You get the idea. Anyway, keep learning, great topic.

    Science doesn't "age well" or "age poorly." It just slowly becomes more accurate. Presentism can make people believe that historical figures and events were impeding progress when in fact those figures and events were facilitating progress. If previous generations didn't do the "poorly aged" work there is no reason to believe we could begin the work today and get it right on the first try

    I believe the reason for the evolution of contralateral contole is damage mitigation and protecting the functionality of our dominant sides. Many theories talk about increased depth perception and coordination... However, some animals that utilize ipsilateral controle have even better depth perception and coordination than some animals that use contralateral controle. These theories make no sense to me. Now, let's say I am a right hand dominant hunter...odds are, I will be attacked on my right side, as that will be the side I am using to attack...putting it within a range of being damaged. If my right side of my head gets damaged...that effects the left side of my body, leaving me still in an advantage compared to losing controle of my dominant side. As someone who is right handed...if I want to look behind me, I generally look to the right side...putting that side of my head in danger as being attacked from behind would be more common (sneak attacks or if I'm running away). Additionally, if I'm looking into a small crack, if I'm not thinking first, I'm likely using my right eye... So contralateral controle seems to help mitigate damage and allow those who obtain damage on their dominant side to not lose function on their dominant side.
