- I watched a video that has over 7m views about portable air conditions and why you shouldn't like them. Well, I decided to try one myself and this is my honest review of the Rintuf 12000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. Here is another REALLY popular product I recommend but amzn.to/3W5EM7w but also here is the one in the video if you're interested: amzn.to/4729EZU

I recommend the Black & Decker amzn.to/3W5EM7w and here is the one in the video: amzn.to/4729EZU
I have a single hose In a 1 bedroom apartment. It’s very effective! I run it in the bedroom during the day as it’s not that quiet! At night I turn it off and use a regular fan. I also run a fan in the living room. For even greater effort I use the bedroom fan that directs the cool air out the door towards the living room.
I believe you're not supposed to tilt these sideways or upside down. Next time, just cut the box open, so the unit is always upright. I bought one one time, and that was what the delivery guy said to me, to keep it upright. Glad these things exist. I probably ought to just get another one but I'm looking at a window unit since the portables emit heat into the room itself which it has to manage, and they take up a bit of an area footprint, where as the window unit (since I can install one, I hope!), takes up zero floor space, and keeps most of the AC noise outside since I'm looking at these U shape variable speed inverter AC's.
Delivery guy was right, even in the box says that
What is the room temperature after one and a half hour? You missed the vital information here
LOL! You are correct. I don't have this one, but I have one knock off brand nam that is 5,000 BTUs for a small room-A bedroom and a Black+Decker 14,000 BTU that cools a living room split with a kitchen which is about 400 sqft. Both cools respectively with the Black+Decker exceeding expectations. I gave you a clue to the number one mistake people make when buying portables...BTUs. If you are shopping for a portable(s), be sure to learn how much BTUs you need on a unit to do the job efficiently. They usually state how much square feet they cover on the packaging anyway. If you are looking for super cold, forget that, but in 100 decree whether, these units can cool down a room on average of 60-65, the ideal temperature and much cooler if you are in a brick and mortar building. Just keep in mind that one unit dose not cool an entire home and invest in a big name like LG, Toshiba and Black+Decker. Unheard of names can be cheaper and do the job, but it's best to go for the big names for warranty purposes.
Exactly started off at 80 were did we end at after an hour and a half, fail video.
Ive literally had mine for 12 years and its still going strong...never used the warranty, and never needed any reparing....the rip off HVAC pricks dont want you to know how good these little things are....i spent $275 for mine back in 2012, do the yearly math... These are a GOD send
I agree. These units are great and people shouldn’t criticize until they try.
Single hose units pull a vacuum on the space, pulling in warm outside air from door sills and cracks and gaps. That's why the other rooms are stuffy. Dual hose is the only way.
Hmmm.. didn’t know this. Good to know.
Yes.
Yes Dual Hose.. Whynter ARC-1230WNH, Is What I Own...
gotta get a dual hose version
@@user-xc1uv6dm5k Alas window & dual hose variants aren't commonly available in the UK and getting a split system installed would be far too costly.
So I've had to modify a single hose system into a dual hose. Not actually that hard, just need some foil tape, an adapter, cardboard & insulation.
If you do that and insulate the exhaust pipe it cools pretty damn well, quieter too.
Obviously not as good as a proper system but good enough to handle British Summers.
I have a single hose Shinco for my bedroom as it doesn't get cool enough in my back bedroom. Instead of putting the hose out a window, I put it in the floor so it goes out under the house. The drain plug also goes out under my house. I love mine and wouldn't want to live without it.
Just remember, heat rises. Maybe there is a way you could add some extra ducting in the basement routing the air out the side of your house so you don't have to fight the heat coming back through the floor 🙏
@@divineoracle4809heat doesn't rise.
I purchased two of these for my townhouse - a dual hose for the main floor and single hose upstairs. The single hose one "worked" but when compared to the dual hose one the difference was night and day. The dual hose one is far superior.
This is best household for me, moving it around and no need choose the place to install like the conventional one. For a reason i dont buy it is the gas to replace
you want to keep it as close to window as possible possibly even higher up on some stand, in order for a hose to be as short as possible.. Because the hose can get really hot and you don't want a bigger surface of hot hose heating up the space while you're trying to cool it..
I am looking for something that I don’t need to mess up with the window. Is that possible? The idea it is to get the bed area cooler for sleeping
missed opportunity to have a segment where you are not talking over the AC noise, as the viewer can hear the noise it makes more clearly. You talked over most of it. Still a great video. I'm not buying this model as i live in eu, but its interesting to hear the approx noise an AC makes.
This actually sounds legit, which is rare
I would like to see how the window insert works. It looked like there was only a hose when you were unboxing. Do I need to create a special insert or buy one?
All included
Like it, especially if it's free.
I have a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim mini split... great!
How much Amperes it consume
Hey! do we need the hose+window part if just using for "heat mode" in winter?
Nope, the hose is just for cooling so the hot air goes outside
@@User-je7gf if it blows hot room air outside what air does it cool also wouldn't that lead to negative pressure in room?
@@nightyjammer2532 It blows the extremely hot air outside that is the side product of cooling
And yes it does lead to a negative pressure in the room, but it will still cool because the air it pushes outside is way hotter than the inside or outside air.
There is hot/warm air in the hose thru the window. It radiates heat into the room negating the cool air. Maybe wrapping the hose in insulation would help. I used one once and it always fights itself. Does anyone have any ideas?
Put it right below a window, maybe on a stool in front of the window. Cover the hose with a blanket.
@@user-xc1uv6dm5k all you have to do is make sure air used for cooling the condenser is taken from outside and exhausted there.
Awesome review..
Is this unit loud? Is it suitable placed in a bedroom?
My portable a c unit creates pails and pails of water every couple of hours in our apartment. Not sure why? At least we have very cool apartment but afraid to keep it on when we go out because of water issue.
Check to see if you have it in the dehumidify setting.. if so that’s what is causing it. In cool mode, the water evaporates. Check your manual.
Thanks yes I will check as the unit is Air and a Dehumidifier so I need to find a better balance!
Some ac units need to be drained after so long I have to drain mine once every 2 weeks if I'm running it daily
you probably live in a high humidity area.. my ac is running 24 7 and i have it draining outside the house
it constantly drains water not just drops but a stream.. i live in Alexandria Egypt and humidity is constantly 90%
There is always a dew point temperature where water condenses from the air. Will hit that point a lot faster in more humid climates. Our ac will crank out 10 gallons a day in southeast Missouri
What if my window is connected to the outside of my room , how do I use the hose
Throw your window out
My landlord will not allow ac.He thinks its too much bill.Definitely he’ll come to know when hot air going through hose.
Is thr any other way ??
How can i put that hose so nobody can know about AC.
I connected the exhaust hose to the chimney on my air conditioner, what do you think about that???
We purchased medium size a month ago. Getting a bigger one and med size going into the shop for our dogs to replace the old one out there. I noticed a difference immediately. This is why were making second purchase. Anything to beat the heat and still economize our bill
Can i use a bucket instead of putting the hose outside of the window
The hose is to blow out hot air. A bucket will be useless for that. If you don't blow it out the window, cold air comes out the front, hot air comes out of the back, and it equalizes while wasting energy.
The unit shows FE and I do not know what it means
Okay so where do I find a Aircon unit that works like. A car , 35 degrees c out the Aircon on for 10 mins and the cars like a chilled fridge ? What's the point in paying for an Aircon unit if it's not as good as a fridge haha
Haha man you so fun)i have in my living room big not portable conditioner close to window he cool all big living room about 4 minutes, but if you leave room,it is hot,so you have to understand any conditioner ANY only for 1 room,so you need for 2 rooms 2 conditioners! 3 rooms 3 conditioners)you so funny)
Does this get cold like a normal AC?
Yes
@@user-xc1uv6dm5kwhat the fuckkk is wrong with you?!!!! You're so damn annoying
Next time you might want to tell us what the temperature was before and after thank you
What if you dont have access to windows

What does BTU mean?
British thermal units. It is the amount of work needed to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. One four-inch wooden kitchen match consumed completely generates approximately 1 BTU.
Don't buy a single hose unit. Always buy a dual hose. And wrap insulation around both hoses.
Your lucky it works after turning it up side down. Just Cut the box off the air conditioner.
People forget that these boxes are abused by land, air and sea for thousands of miles and multiple ports of entry in order to be delivered to your door by UPS/Fedex who yet again trample boxes inside their trucks.. smh.. or maybe people don’t forget and they are just clueless.. lol
You gave the footage of your apartment but didn’t give a starting temperature or a temperature after cooling for an hour or so. If it takes an hour to drop one degree, ugh. If it takes and hour but the room temp drops 6-8 degrees, yay. Also, why not give the outside temperature?
I don’t have a way to give a readout.. what I felt is more important anyway.
I bought one of these its loud as hell
a 12k btu cannot handle 400-500sqf (41 normal people units) you would need 4 to 5 of these for hot climate areas.. and maybe 3-4 in regular climate areas.. also it depends very much on ur houses insulation..
these units are pulling hot air from outside and cooling it.? wouldn't it work better to not put it in the window - keep that closed.. and let it circulate the already cold air inside to make it more cold faster..?
Dual Hose Whynter ARC-1230WNH. Is What I Have...
I cant believe they make single hose portable ac's, they suck your cool air through the condenser and outside, so it cools in the immediate area but draws a vacuum in the house so warm outside air coming in the rest of the house. In reality, it can't really work. Get either a window unit or 2 hose portable
I don’t know how these things work but it made my place cooler. As you said it was a free product so I don’t get paid to tell the truth or lie.. I was honest about my experience. I used it for the entire summer and it would have been horrible without it.
So basically it draws room's hot air to outside and cools as well the rooms hot air?, not only outside warm air but also unconditioned hot air from other rooms through doors
What do you mean it can’t work?
We’ve got 3 of them, 1400 ft.² and it absolutely does work especially on 90° days when it would be 100 in here instead it’s about 74.
Speculation… Need, I say more?
I don't trust people who put a k sound on the end of words that end in ing
lol chenglish.
😂😂😂😂 now I get it. 😂😂😂
U got for free?
This thing makes a lot of noise, I find myself having to crank up the TV volume because of the noise it makes.
It’s fairly quiet and accurately described in the brochures. I was never bothered by it.
Can he stop talking for 3 sec, sound really load
Chinglish... 😒
He skipped leg day and neck week.
