Thankyou very much. I couldn’t get it to work until I watched your video. I needed to actually see which insert was placed in the frother. It was important and not shown clearly anywhere else. 👍
Glad it helped
Thankyou! I had the full ring and was wondering why it wasn't frothing!!! I will try this again without both pieces :)
Yes I made that mistake!
To the guy who made this video...Add the juice of a lemon to your kettle, fill with water & boil it. Leave it for an hour & then clean it. I have the same kettle & you’ll thank me later.
Cheers me owd Mukr. Thanks very much indeed for sharing this. The video is very helpful. I'm seriously considering purchasing one.....👌😁
Thanks by the way. I'm going to get this now. Lots of reviewers on John Lewis were saying it wasn't foamy enough but I can see by your video that it is fine. Obviously using Bothe the rings! You saved me some money because I was about to buy the Smeg which is pretty much the same but double the price.
Glad it helped. By the way just use the one ring (with the toothed edge) if you use both then it will not froth and only warm. Also the fat content of the milk has a lot of effect on the frothing but that's true of all frothers.
These do not froth up to well I've been told. Nowhere near as good as the Nespresso 4. What is your view please
@@thetruebrit85 my one froths up soo much that it’s quite annoying, hardly much milk left it’s all froth
Absolutely brilliant! Thankyou so much! Very detailed 👍
pdate. After advice from others, the solution was to use full fat milk, not semi-skimmed like I was using. Now it works like a dream. Loving my Cappuccino every day!!U
Good video. Very straightforward.
I got one after seeing this. Works well and so easy to clean
Thank you this was very helpful 👍❤️
This is great I found the instructions hard to understand
I have one and it works very well frothing and heating and very easy to clean BUT the noise level is quite high and it rattles in certain positions
Very good video, does it heat/froth the milk to a hot(ish) temperature... ie removing milk from the fridge to place it into this for the purposes of frothing milk for a latte, does it ensure the milk is warm enough? Are there any heat/temperature settings on it? I would actually purchase this but only if the milk is going to be warm enough, can’t stand luke warm drinks which is the exact reason why I discarded my Dolce Gusto pod machine and not much point investing in it if I’m then required to microwave my drink after it’s made. Thanks for any advice you can give
Hi Junior J, Was out for a bike ride when I picked up your comment and wanted to test this before replying. I'd say it get's the milk to warm/hot certainly not scalding but I always like to give an accurate answer so I just tested it. First the easy answers NO there is NOT a temperature control. There is a pressure switch to detect if the jug is inserted but I don't think this measures weight so the heat cycle will almost certainly be the same regardless of what is added. Bearing that in mind, after adding milk straight from the fridge up to the MINIMUM level and running a standard warm and froth cycle my electronic thermometer read 64 degrees celcius. I'm guessing that putting more milk in may result in a slightly cooler result. Hope that helps and don't forget the amazon affiliate links (but only if it's a good deal for you :-) ).
DTSquared Gentleman thank you very much for your reply, appreciate that
They do make good foam from full fat milk but unfortunately they don't last long. Second one broke in one year.
Looks Great. Is it working with soya milk or almond milk?
Hi Greg, I don't think we've tried it with soya but I'm sure we tested it out with Almond milk and it frothed pretty well.
How much is the output temperature?
Starting with cold milk from the fridge. On a standard warm and froth cycle I measured the final milk temperature at 64 degrees Celsius.
Hope that helps
Great video. Looking at getting this and was wondering if you had tried it with any non - dairy milks? Preferably oat milk.
Hi Bevan, Well I hadn't tried it with non dairy milk but I've just asked my daughter and she has used it successfully with OATLY (Barrista edition) oat milk. Also I have literally just tried it with Alpro Oat Original and that frothed pretty well also.
Hope that helps
Dave
@@DTSquared That's brilliant to hear, thanks for checking for me! I actually use the barista Oatly with my manual frother so I'll have to order that. Thanks again!
@@bevan619 I will be trying it with Soy milk today so I can let you know.
@@bevan619 I just tried with normal milk it froths amazing, and I have soy milk, not so much of a froth theres a little bit but nothing compared to milk :(
@@leesahennessey7407 That's a shame! I don't use soy myself but still, disappointing for yourself and others. I should be receiving mine Thursday so we'll see how I get on.
Hi there, thanks for reviewing this device. I'm looking for a present for my coffee addicted mum - would you deem the noise level of this thing acceptable?
Hi there, It's not silent but I wouldn't say that it is too noisy either. Certainly quieter than something like a food processor and, whilst I haven't measured the noise level, it is probably quieter than a lot of kettles when boiling. Hope your mum enjoys it, it certainly makes very frothy milk.
Dave
@@DTSquared thank you for the quick response! I'm going to order this week - I'm sure she'll like it :')
DillinjahXx she may need some ear muffs haha....
NO! It's VERY noisy....especially the beep to start and finish the cycle. I just bought it and am quite annoyed
@@izfizz Get some headphones on!
I just got one but the froth is almost nothing at all. Probably send it back if it doesn't get any better.
Try changing the milk first low fat milk never froths well.
Also make sure the spinning bit is the right way up
@@DTSquared Ahh, we use semi-skimmed. I will try regular. Thanks
@@DTSquared The notched disc? It is the same both ways.
@@DTSquared I use full fat milk now and it works great. Many thanks for the tip!
hi, how many time does it take to making a good foam?
I have one, I think mine stop early,
thx
Hi Wolfomid, Sorry for the delay in replying I just wanted to actually time my frother. I just have and the cycle took exactly one and a half minutes.
If your unit is running for the same time and not frothing then it may be worth checking the milk you are using. Lower fat content milk does not froth as well and occasionally you can get a carton of milk that just doesn't want to froth.
Hope that helps.
Dave
P.S. Make sure you have just the frothing ring in and not both the rings (with the smooth outer) as it will only froth with just the spoked ring in.
@@DTSquared Thanks a lot. It's so useful to me.
Is pronounced 'Lavatza'. Edit: Like when you say Pizza. It's a hard Z sound.
Thanks for the correction :-)
No one cares
Think the kettle has never beel cleaned O_O
I tried this and my milk was not frothy at all
It’s a good idea to check the fat content of your milk. Lower fat milk doesn’t froth as well (with any frothed).
I only got one crown
As in the rings that go around the impeller shaft? They snap together so it may look like one at first. If you only have the inner serrated ring then the frother will work but you will not be able to use it to ONLY warm milk. (In other words it will always froth it). If you only have the outer one then it would not work at all. If one is missing then definitely worth going back and asking for a replacement ring.
