    Thanks Drew. We bought the VelociRAX when you showed the rack in your e-bike shootout 2 years ago. WE LOVE IT. I have have been riding mountain bikes since 1983. The wall rack is great. A year ago, my wife wife bought the Tilt & Pivot Garage Bike Rack for inside the garage when we have the rack on our 4Runner. The design and construction is solid. You can even buy touch-up paint and spare straps. We also have the security cable.
    The VeociRax was the first purchase we made after seeing Loam Wolf UA-cam programs. We have also bought some highlighted bikes from your program.
    Thanks for the great suggestions to make our riding even more fun and safe.

      Thank you very much Chris! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and we're very happy to hear that you've been pleased with our recommendations! We don't give them out easily, and know that people have to drop some serious coin on products, so we do our best. Thanks again.

    I’ve watched a bunch of videos trying to figure out whether this rack can withstand moderate off-roading. Thank you for including that! I think I’ve finally made a decision on a vertical bike rack.

    You can also lower the rack to the loading/unloading position and hang your bike from the saddle (on the front wheel holder) and use this rack as a bike stand. Try it out!

    Love the design but one NSMB author noted that some people who started using wheel supported racks have forks that have developed premature wear and bushing play. Suspension fork bushing weren’t designed for these types of loads, and potential buyers should consider this before purchasing this style of rack. The evidence in anecdotal, but it’s enough for me not to purchase one.

      Bushings/bearings are cheap and bikes are designed to take loads like this but with a 200lb monkey riding it ;-)

      Wait, aren’t the bushings designed to handle these loads? These are the same loads a bike sees when riding.

    Thanks looks like a great rack! Does anyone have advice or comments regarding 10 inch vs 12 inch vs 15 inch spacing between bikes for some of their different configurations?

    I wish there was a single-bike version for a motorbike.... my local park is just 8 km away and on a 690 full enduro I could comfortably carry a normal bike, or even a 24 kg e-bike.... easier parking and it's more fun to ride to ride :O
    It wouldn't even need the fold-down feature, just the T-shape with the hanger thing and a flat mount for a rear rack ... I guess I will have to prototype one from wood, then take it to a welder :O
    Also, if they just sold the wheel mount and a T shape, You could easily put this on the top of a pickup truck (mount it on roll-bar position, ... sometimes the tailgate carry method freaks me out, someone rear ends me and my bikes are @#$!@$%...

      There is an electric one out of Canada. I use a Switch Hauler for my sons 50 and 65cc on my SUV. I highly recommend the Switch Hauler as the suspension has zero stress and there is tons of clearance when going off road.

    How does this compare to a lolorack style? Is there less bike movement, less wear on the bike parts etc?

    Any commentary on this vs Lolo.? Why should I chose one over the other?
    ..living in oregon, I am leaning toward buying local, but people seem to love these as well. Thoughts?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  Рік тому +1

      Both are good racks and have pros/cons. We love Joe and the Lolo crew. One thing to note is that if you ride ebikes, lifting them onto the Lolo is a bit more difficult than rolling it "into" the Vrax tray. Also, if you have a Shimano eBike, the display unit on the screen can be problematic with how the Lolo hangs the bikes. The Lolo has a smaller footprint, sits closer to vehicle and is a lot less material and is also Made in USA with USA materials. So that's a big plus for us too.
      Hope that helps!

    Does the 412 rub at all? My buddy who has the 7 (which is 10” spacing) to get the 5x so they don’t rub? I’d rather buy the 412 if rubbing is no issue with the 12” spacing?

    • @TheLoamWolf

      We don’t have any rubbing issues that come to mind. There may be a particular combo, but if it happened it hasn’t been many times or recently enough to note it. I think you’re good!

    Do you think that the weight of the bike might warp the wheel over time? Especially when your car goes over bumps on the road surface. ?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  10 місяців тому

      No that wouldn’t be an issue.

    I'm considering this rack for my 04 Sprinter and I am concerned about the distance from the tire hoop to the rear window. In the video it looks like there is plenty of room between the tire hoop and window on the van. Do you know roughly what the distance is b/t the hoop and and the rear window?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  Рік тому +1

      Want to say it's about 7 or so inches. There is enough room for us to crack open the back door to fit an arm in to grab things out of the van.

    Not sure why this company can’t make a more burly rack. At 230# max weight it’s pretty wimpy IMO. 3 e bikes and 3 analog MTB I’m at close to 250# for my family’s bikes. the North Shore rack has a 300# Rating but is not suitable for non MTB. Come on VelociRAX! Even their 7 bike rack has the same weight limit of 230.

  • @noyjr9492
