    OK, I did it, after months of research, and talking with folks, I have ordered the QuickRStuff Mach 2. I am so excited. I know I have to wait to get it, but why not? I got the ebike I wanted, I"m 70 yrs young, female, so why not enjoy and take the work out of loading my bike. I know it will be worth it. And I'm going to add the ramp too. Life is too short to worry about stuff. Maybe I'll get lucky and I get it sooner rather than later. But is OK. Stay tuned for an update.

    It is so good to have a company that considered all types of riders - including senior citizens and those with health issues. Being able to travel independently and take a heavy bike such as an e-bike on local trails or for distance travel is a game changer and wonderful option. Thanks for your product!

    We received ours two weeks ago, it’s great. One of our ebikes is 72 lbs and the other one is about 50 lbs so we got the ramp also. It takes about 10 minutes to place the rack on our truck and load both bikes. One bike is a fat tire and both bikes ride securely without any additional strapping. We ordered it in the beginning of January and it arrived the middle of march.

    This rack is super nice, price is steep though, I'm not saying it's overpriced, just expensive. I have the Kuat NV 2.0 with a one bike add on, the Thule T2 XT, and the Saris MHS with a single bike tray since I always struggled with bike racks on my Jeep Wrangler with 35 inch tires, including the spare one. None of them really worked, I also have a Yakima fulltilt and no rack (of the ones I have) seemed to work with the spare tire. I should've gotten this one instead, it probably would've cleared the spare tire but who knows, I'm a bit of an impatient guy so the wait time is a bit of a deal breaker for me, as well. I ended up getting a spare tire delete kit for my jeep and they still don't work as intended, I'm still using a Kuat hitch dropper/riser to drop it 2 inches and it still barely clears it. I love my jeep but it definitely has to go now. Not sure why I wrote such a long comment but I had to say it.

    • @Baldhills
      @Baldhills 2 роки тому +1

      I would think if the contact point is not on the lower half of the wheel it would work ok.
      If it’s on the bottom half there will be no downward pressure to capture the bike.
      The design of the rack is to force the bike down and capture it.
      This rack won’t work for my eBike as the rear fenders cover most of the rear tire.
      I really wish it would work. This is a really nice rack, but intended for bikes without fenders.

But looking at your prices just for a two bike rack setup at 920$ US Dollars before tax and shipping costing up to 1000$ dollars after tax i much rather spend the money on a KUAT or 1up rack and save some money.

      The Mach2 is priced to reflect its ease-of-use, which can't be matched thanks to the 100% no-tools design, e-bike capability, & portability.
      With the inventor of the original Quik Rack in our corner, you can expect his latest model, the Mach2, to be the industry standard. It’s lightweight, modular, and can handle 300 lbs. Cal’s racks have stood the test of time and we know some of you are willing to invest in the best.
      We are also 100% American-made, which naturally poses cost challenges, but we remain competitively priced with other 4-bike systems.
      We hope you'll consider investing in the latest & greatest. Please email Sales@QuikRStuff.com with any questions and we'd be happy to aid in your decision.

      @@quikrstuff I wouldn't call it light weight. 28lbs for the single, then another 20 per add on? That gets heavy quick. And lets be honest, who is going to disassemble the rack fully each time it is used?
      Really good presentation and an intriguing engineering exercise. But it seems very impractical. My current rack is heavy, and a pain to store, but it is easy on and off for the most part with just one hitch bolt and a pin for pivoting it out.
      And dang, that thing is fiddly. I just want to load my bike and go, not spend 15 minutes getting my bike rack ready.

    • @quikrstuff
      @quikrstuff  3 роки тому

    • @fergman300
      @fergman300 3 роки тому +3

      I was thinking the same thing....A lightweight removeable tray that drops into the gap of the arms would seem work...without lugging around that large ramp contraption.

    • @mongkeefee5576
      @mongkeefee5576 3 роки тому

      @@fergman300 I see what you're saying, but don't think the lightweight removable tray that you suggest would work actually that well. Even if the rack arms were long enough to reach the ground (which they certainly wouldn't on my truck anyway), the approach angle would be quite steep. Having the longer ramp should allow for a much easier loading process. I think they hit the nail on the head with the current design because the people who would be using the ramp are mostly dealing with very heavy bikes/ebikes and/or some physical limitations on lifting them high onto the rack. Easier loading process seems to be the point. I personally also like the design of how easily it appears to latch on to the end for storage like an add-on.

    Really thinking about getting this rack since we just got two e-bikes. My concern is weight capacity. One of our bikes is 90lb and the other one 70lb. Would that be ok?

    Very neat design. The use of aluminium to keep its strength and yet still be light and easy to carry.
    One observation thou. Usually as a rule you would put the heaviest bike nearest the car but in this demo, it looked like after the fat tyre bike handle bar only just managed to miss the boot lid when opened being in the second position. (5.45)
    As I have an Ebike and predominantly ride alone. This could be a issue.
    Or just that the camera didn't do it justice.
    Anyway, looks great

    • @quikrstuff
      @quikrstuff  3 роки тому

      Hey, Frank. Personally, this is the most secure rack that I have ever owned (Amy B, Sales Rep). I have no fear of it falling off, even when 4-wheeling out in the desert. With my vehicle, and hopefully all of them, the hitch fits into my receiver nicely with no wobble at all. There are two aluminum pads on the hitch, which expand with a twisting handle to reduce wobble, which makes sure that the rack sits well in your hitch. Email us with any more questions at sale@quikrstuff.com

    tried waiting until this came to market but went ahead and got a 1up 2 years ago. unfortunately, the tire spool bolt is seized/oxidized and now i cannot remove it in order to install the fat tire kit. meaning the rack is only ever going to accommodate bikes up to 3" and i have to go back out into the 30 degree weather to reverse the install of the one tray just to bring any bike anywhere. GRRrrrr. meanwhile, i planned on taking my fat bike home (to where it snows all the time) this holiday. i may hear back from 1Up, but not typically in a timely manner and frankly, the custy service has been minimal and likely they will have no answers for me in this dilemma.

    What options are available for an eBike with fenders? Thanks

    • @quikrstuff
      @quikrstuff  3 роки тому

      There are two types of fenders: Plastic and Steel.
      Our suggestions are:
      For plastic, the spool will push down the fender to the tire for a snug fit.
      For steel, you could take foam pads, and cut it to wrap around the spool so that the fender will not get scratched.
      We will be releasing a pad that is matched to the spools and are determining the best material for the job.
      NOTE: Sorry, but we are not responsible for any damage to fenders due to these suggestions and your usage of them.
      As long as the tire spools hug the tires ABOVE the horizontal mid line of the wheel, it is secure. In other words, the contact should be above a line drawn horizontally from the axle (above 90 degrees).

      You just have to be aware of your vehicle's tow rating and tongue weight limitations. You don't want to put +200lbs of ebikes on the rear of your compact car designed for light loads.
