Like Jeff Beck with his right hand with Chris Cornell’s voice. But, he’s definitely his own. I’ve been listening to him since 1989. I never tire of his music. Awesome band, too! ❤❤❤❤
Your clearly deaf….. he sound nothing like Chris Cornell and you cant say he’s like jeff beck either. There is no stage performance it’s just an old guy trying to look cool and it doesn’t work.
@@paulolsen6870 I totally get it. I love Cornell and miss his light shining in this dark world immensely. I know that no one will ever come close to his genius as a songwriter, musician nor his vocal abilities. But, at times, yes, Richie’s voice does remind me of Chris’ vocal sound. Audioslave thought enough of Kotzen’s vocals to perform Cochise with him after Chris’ untimely death. It’s a great testament to the talent of both musicians. For example, but discussing another artist, there’s a Jeff Buckley song that tricks my mind into thinking it’s an early Soundgarden demo almost every time it plays in my rotation - the song is Cruel from his work with Gary Lucas (‘91-‘92) on the album Songs to No One. Even the guitar’s intro reminds me of Kim. But, the remainder is all Buckley. Just bits and pieces of songs remind me of other artists, that’s all. Chris helped complete Buckley’s posthumous release, Sketches for my Sweetheart, the Drunk via Jeff’s mother’s request, too. It’s purely Buckley but I can hear Chris in it too. But, maybe that’s because I want to. ❤️
Don't just watch Richie here on you tube, go and buy his music so he can make more $ so he can write more kick ass jams we can listen to.....His live shows are worth every penny....I have no affiliation to Richie or the band. Just a fan that knows talent when I see it and want to spread the word.
How time goes...I still remember buying that "new" album in 1990 ( if my memory serves me well ) called "Fever Dream" by this young guy called Richie Kotzen... He's one of the greatest ones for sure...
Right. I was shocked when I bought the album. I wanted to have his left hand. This is the most cherished album I bought that year with Michael Lee Firkins' debut album.

Enough of the Cornell crap. Sounds nothing like Kotzen.

Man these guys are off the chain (that guitar tone is smokin as a side note).

How old is Kotzen? Dam the guy looks great!
WTF that harmonic at the end, no pick, no whammy bar ???
Looks like he gives the neck a good pull backwards.
He just bends the string behind the nut.
Richie é um dos melhores vocalistas do mundo inteiro!! Fora a guitarrra!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
wtf. how did he do that squeal without a whammy bar?
He didn’t raise it. Don’t need tremolo for that.
@@paulolsen6870 he did raise it. you don't hear the climb in pitch? sounds like a pull up on the trem arm
@@dominicijavier1575sometimes you can push the neck little bit - I do this in my tele.
@@astas666 Natural harmonic and string bending of the open string behind the nut
as far as i know he just presses the strings you can see his performance in morc in the song war paint
I think Richie's volume must be really high , his fingers aren't hitting the strings that hard ..... a soft touch with really loud volume?
Was a fan of his first album Fever Dream. Like Huge Fan. But this stuff is too Stevie Ray Vaughn groove for me : (
This is terrible ….. worst sound I’ve heard in years.
