Hey y'all! I just wanted to let y'all know that I will most likely not be responding to comments/questions while on vacation. We have a lot of fun things going on, so we are busier than usual! Please do not take offense if your questions go unanswered, I mean nothing bad by it! I just want to make sure I am fully focused on this family vacation. Jaquie, if you look at all the things you DID do during your first day at Disney, of which we likely did not see all of it, you did GREAT! When I went 8+ years ago, we stayed in one of Animal Kingdom's hotels and I rented a scooter. It was the best decision I made as far as that holiday went. My daughter was 10yo at the time which was perfect cuz she could walk a lot, but if she did get tired she hopped onto my lap and we cruised together. The best part was if I started to feel crappy and needed to get horizontal (spine/spinal cord injury), we just made our way back to the hotel, rested and went back out. You will LOVE having the hotel to do that with.
One tip I can offer regarding that is we started at the furthest distance away from the hotel early on and made our way back closer to our hotel each day. It worked great because when I was tired, etc. but wanted to get back to the hotel, it wasn't as long of a trip to do so, or to go back out when I had rested.

I’ve been in pretty poor health this year (hopefully that will change once I get a diagnosis) but it’s really nice to see that that doesn’t mean I can’t do things like Disneyland, even if it means pacing myself more than I used to. Thanks for the encouragement!

jory728 They are blessed, I agree. My husband has become miserable & mean the worse my chronic illness becomes. It’s hard. I enjoy these videos because Jacqui is so positive & inspiring and Judd reminds me that there are kind & thoughtful people out there in the world, and my support situation doesn’t always have to stay this way.
Parties actually give me anxiety. I hate crowded areas like malls, I hate really bright lights, so I just hate parties. Especially Christmas parties, But I kinda get used to the bright lights so it’s not as much as a trigger anymore
Same here... it sucks so bad. I'm sorry you have to deal with it too. You just need to do it on your terms, I found that helps.

Yay for supportive partners who encourage you to make the right decisions for your health, one of the things you said to Judd is what I often say to my bf when I have flare up "will you hate me if we go home?" & it really struck home for me because that feeling of burden to others is really common in those of us with chronic illnesses & can lead to making a decision that is not best for your health to try to keep going. It's important to have a partner that is understanding of your limits & support you to take care of yourself
You two have such a wonderful relationship! Really nice to see how Jaq tries to persevere and keep pushing and trying to make everything as fun and exciting and positive, while
Judd also knows how much you can handle and is there to remind you to slow down and go easy on yourself for things you can’t control. Love it!
Sorry you had to end your night early but Judd was right, don't overdo it on the first night where you won't be able to enjoy the rest of your trip.
We are moving this week and I was on my feet too long yesterday doing some last minute packing and could hardly get out of bed this morning. Now I get to finish the kitchen today. Ugh! Guys will be putting up some fencing across the backyard so the dogs can go out and play at the new house. Have had to walk them on a leash for the last few years here so a yard for them is going to be fun. I will be really hurting by the time we get everything loaded and unloaded, then I'll stay in bed for a few days, lol.

Please pace yourself and take breaks. If its a task you can do sitting do it.

I remember seeing my mom after a day of demolishing our house (flooded due to Hurricane Harvey). She was in so much pain she couldn't speak...keep going with your house, no matter the pain! Wish you luck! ✊

Thanks for taking us to the party! My parents and me are in Disney withdrawls so this was fun to see! Went to the Christmas party 2 years ago.. so Magical! Chronic illness of any kind can be such a scrooge, Judd handled it so awesome !
I have a friend who is a part of the holiday parade, with the princesses. He partner dances in front of the princess float.

I appreciate how you confront the problem of your limits and decide not to push it. I was at a college open house (I'll be transferring there in the fall) today and one of my less frequent, but more painful symptoms of my chronic illness reared its head. I had to make the decision to go home early, as well. As disappointing as it is when things like this happen, I know I can't push myself. I still feel sad when it affects something I look forward to and it helps to know I'm not alone in this problem. 💕💕💕

You did so well on your first day, so don't feel bad. You got to experience lots of fun things and treats. And Judd is right, don't want to overdo it right away, that way you can enjoy yourself longer.

I have a few random things I want to say basically because it’s 4am and I SHOULD sleep but I can’t.
1) when you were all bundled up you looked so adorable, I wanted to jump through the screen and give you a hug.
2)I’m glad you had fun on day one of your vacation.
3) of course I have to say how awesome my girl Harlow looked.
4) you guys are awesome everything you do everything you are is awesome Judd is funny, Harlow is adorable and so smart and Jaquie. Is all three and much more. My heart goes out to you . You are so brave and so strong and I’m proud of you, getting up each day and dealing with something that you can’t control nore prodict you are a true hero and a inspiration and I just want to say thank you.

I am glad I saw this posted. I'm really struggling with this atm. I have autism and fibro, plus I'm a mum of an almost 6 yr old. I often have to leave early or can do what I want to do. You're Judd is right and I needed to hear that the best choice is often the hardest.

Ice cream is best when it’s cold outside. You can enjoy it more when your not trying to eat it faster then it melts.
My sister gets frustrated with herself when we go and a few hours later her body is sore. She told me she feels like she’s letting me down. I have to remind her that vacations are for memories not competitions. Our last vacation to Disneyland we spent a full day in our hotel pre-Disney. We ordered a couple movies that we had been wanting to see. Ordered room service. And just talked and took naps between movies. At first she just wanted to go straight to the park. Even though she was so sore even sitting in her wheelchair was painful. She said I normally can why can’t I today. I told her you normally don’t sit in a car for 8 hours. So your body isn’t on normal tired it’s on 8 hours of sitting in a car tired. But it took me saying truthfully that my knee was also in pain. That’s when she agreed. Which to me was sad because she was considering my pain more then hers.

Hi Jaquie, Disney looks so pretty with all the decorations. Love the lights on your wheelchair. Nobody does things better than Disney. And it's snowing. How perfect. Wow, the castle is beautiful. It’s never to cold for ice cream! I’m from a cold part of Canada so 50F (10C) is really nice weather haha! I still eat ice cream when it gets down to -30C (-22F). I think it’s the same concept as people who drink hot tea in the summer to stay cool!

Hi hon! I'm glad you guys are having a fabulous time! I have a few things that may help🤗 Go to disability services and talk to them about options to help make your trip as magical as possible and mention you had to leave the xmas party early. Explain a bit about MCAS, and how you are at very high risk of severe allergic reactions that can be triggered by smoke on people's clothes, perfumes, etc. while standing in long lines. What they can do along with the fast passes is give you an alternative place to sit while waiting to board the ride so your system isn't repeated assaulted while standing on line. I know you get iv steroids occasionally which suppresses cortisol production. Our bodies can't differentiate good stress from bad stress and both leave us feeling crappy. We learned years ago that pretreating with extra steroids during exciting vacations really decreased my MCAS reactions, gave me more energy, and decreased my pain significantly. You don't want to do that all the time, for something as exciting and special as this, it could truly make a difference between having a good trip or having an AWESOME trip. Since your trip has just begun, I'd recommend calling your doctor and see if they are okay with that. Have a great time! I can't wait for the next video!
I was at Disney last year in the very beginning of January. It was so freezing cold it was like 30 degrees but the cold really helped me. If it’s really hot I suffer and feel exhausted, but since it was cold I was able to walk around without a problem. At the end of the night I wanted to keep going but everyone else was ready to go back to the hotel lol. It was really beautiful and I really loved the all the Christmas decorations.
Today, Sunday, It's 85 degrees here in Orlando! By Tuesday there will be a low of 46 degrees. A 40 degree difference!!! Freaky weather to be sure.

Yeah sometimes having a disability just gets in the way. I went to universal with g brother and just at basing in a line for the train had me out of commisison the rest of the day bc of the heat. But glad you're enjoying your trip.

Cookies and rides sounds like enough of an adventure :D Maybe next time you go, wear your ear defenders. It's just my own experience, but I realize that if I have to deal with less stimuli, I can last longer because I tire out a little slower.
Ok 50 degrees is warm compared to the 30 degrees here. I am from California, now living in Utah and at 50 degrees I don't need a jacket. I guess I used to but not anymore.
Some of us warriors have issues regulating our temperatures.
You should change your wheelchair lights to red or green, or put one wheel red and the other one green! Or if you can find some lights that have both green and red that’d be cute too! For Christmas!🤗💗

Yes. They have to train in all sorts of places and situations to learn how to handle each situation. They should already have basic obedience of course, but they're allowed everywhere a fully trained dog would be.
Caviepigs101 yes, because they are still classified as service dogs even when training. They need to also since they have to get used to where they will be

I have had to restbat the medical pavilion last time we went. I let my teen aged children go off and do their thing and I laid down and took a much needed nap for me and then I felt well enough to hang out with the family

It’s nice to see you and Judd enjoying yourselves, but I really don’t understand the appeal of Disney. I always thought it was an amusement park for kids, so it seems weird to me that adults like to go there over and over, and have their weddings and honeymoons and vacations there! I would find it completely overstimulating, with the crowds, lots of children everywhere, the constant music and all the other noise, and all the bright and flashing lights. Not to mention all the unfamiliar foods - isn’t there a big risk of getting an upset stomach trying all those things? I seriously don’t get why you like it so much. It must be a very special place for you, and I guess everyone has their own preferences! I hope you pace yourself and continue to have a great time!
