This is a great video, and excellent teamwork. I recently purchased my own accessible van. It's interesting to see the same basic equipment in a newer vehicle. I have two sets of the retractable Q-straint system and seat belt receiver to allow for another wheelchair user to ride with me along with their carer or PA. I'm a manual wheelchair user, but I recognized many of the "growing pains". I kept trying to see in the video, but I couldn't tell - does this van have the kneeler suspension to lower the van as the ramp deploys?
Thank you, we have been looking and it is hard to determine the best van. My sister has taken rides to the doctor in a rear entry van and she really likes them, because she feels independent. She is 71 and it is getting harder to manipulate tight spaces.
We also have a side entry van, but when my sister goes in Forward sometimes her front wheels get caught on the easy lock system. I understand that it is easier to access the easy like if you back the chair in. I would like her to be able to do this herself. Do you just use the tape to help you line up and do you think it would be possible to back up the ramp to avoid getting the wheels caught?
Sorry for the delayed response, I have to wait for my assistant. For us, the wheelchair-accessible van was worth every penny. It makes our lives a lot easier and I wish you the best of luck in your search.
Nice ride Anna!!! But your beautiful smile is the best part of this video ❤
I'm a first time viewer. Thanks for the demonstration of the accessibility of your car.
