      Nice machine. Take great care of it! Keep it clean & in top working condition. Use best engine oils. They may discontinue after '21 sadly. I grabbed a '21 700R-SE.

    Absolutely adore my '21 Raptor 700R-SE! Only added the GYTR intake kit (air filter is small). The machine is near perfect stock! Maybe a slip on Yoshimura or Big Gun exhaust next but thats it folks! Needs nothing. #Maxima #Fox

    The raptor 700 is a SOHC not DOHC just so no one gets confused. I think the yfz450's are DOHC though

      Kyle M. correct you are. Someone pointed that out way early on in the comments. the sad thing is we knew it. When you recording of voice-overs sometimes the words just come out wrong. thanks for paying that much attention. I don't think we make mistakes that often.

    Best all round sport quad ever. I own a 2007 Raptor 700 SE and it's still a great bike, the new ones are even better!!

    your test rider is a beast! he is as fast on a atc 250r as on a quad! I wish you would do a test between the 88/89 fourtrax 250R vs. some of these new sport quads.. LONG LIVE THE FOURTRAX 250R!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  8 років тому +3

      Rob greatly appreciates your complements on his riding. Yes, he can ride a trike nearly as fast as a quad. He can also toss around a dirt bike. We would love to to a few features on a TRX250R however purchasing one to restore and test will cost around $3,500. We will get around to getting one hopefully sooner rather than later. By the way, what kind of mountain bike is that you have?

    • @ronaldtartaglia4459
      @ronaldtartaglia4459 8 років тому +2

      +ATVonDemand yeah, rob is fun to watch.
      my sad of vehicles is as follows:
      quad- 2007 trx 400ex, ( I dream of an 88 250r, but there is no where to ride in Massachusetts)
      street- 2006 Ducati S2r 800
      mountain bikes - 1998 GT Backwoods ( hardtail)
      - 2015 GT Sensor Al Comp ( full suspension)
      I have been mountain biking a lot since every time I fire up my quad, someone calls the cops. I dream of having legal places to ride like you guys do....

      +ATVonDemand seems like you could poke around the R forums and find a small aftermarket business to give you a loaner in return for promotion. A proper test to teach us old farts a lesson or better yet educate the kids that atv's really did reach perfection 25 years ago!

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  8 років тому +5

      +ATVonDemand that Honda 250r motor is the best off road motor ever made.

    • @stockrappy

    is the front end to heavy for stunts? I'm 13 and I have always done stunts on a kawasaki kfx 90 but I'm looking for a new, updated quad. I'm thinking about either this or the yfz 450.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  8 років тому +3

      While we can't recommend this or a 450cc ATV to any rider under 16 in order to keep ourselves and Yamaha out of trouble, if we were looking for an ATV for stunt riding/freestyle we would want the lightest machine possible.

    I have a 2004 yfz 450 and i am having the same problem with the plastic being scratched by my boots, so i was wondering what to do to either fix the scratches or what to put there to stop that from happening

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  8 років тому +1

      Well, we are giving this thought as well. Maybe we should make a video on this subject. There are things you can apply to diminish the look of the scratches prior to riding. PC Plastic Renew helps get rid of scratches. Over the boot pants will help prevent deep scratches in the plastic. FTR Powersports make graphics that cover the lower rear fenders that add protection.

    If the air box and exhaust system makes the quad better they should come out of the factory like that would like Yamaha to take back the banchee 2 stroke ? KTM are still selling 2stroke bike's today can't see why Yamaha can't aswell

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  2 роки тому +1

      We could easily flip any off-road vehicle. That being said, the Raptor is a pretty stable and predictable machine . We really enjoy its out of the box handling. We have not problem cruising or flying on the Raptor. Practice and work your way up. The Raptor is great.

    I've got an '07, it's got tons of power and insane speed for nice trails like the ones in the video. If you plan on mudding more than trail riding get the Grizzly or Kodiak. The Raptor doesn't do great in mud or deeper water.

    Toward the end of the video you said "we would like to see a 49 or 50 inch raptor" didn't Yamaha start making the raptor starting in 2011 with a 50 inch wheelbase? Also I am in the market right now for a nice used raptor 700/700r, the 2016 is beautiful but way out of my price range so I am looking to purchase between 2011 and 2014. If given the choice between those four, years which would be your Choice and why? Thanks for the great in-depth videos you guys make and any information you would be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

    • @NirHason
      @NirHason 8 років тому

      I got the 2011 special edition and it's 46.1 stock...

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  8 років тому

      We referring to wishing Yamaha would build a Raptor between 49 and 50 inches wide. Yes, it has a wheelbase in the 50" range but the stock width is listed at 45.5". Another four inches in width would add another level of stability in corners and side-hills. Its not that the current model is unstable, in fact it handles quite well. All of the years share the same width and length, if we're not mistaken.
      That being said, The 2014 received some updates missing from the 2011. You can go watch our review of the 2013 model for the full list of updates. The 2013 updates weren't total game changers so we'd go with which ever machine is in better condition. Given the option between a model with fully adjustable front shocks, or the more basic non-adjustable ones found on some 700 models, we'd try to get a model with fully adjustable shocks. If you take the time to adjust them, you can really dial in the ride. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to hit us back.

    • @NirHason
      @NirHason 8 років тому

      +ATVonDemand you right, my mistake. According to Wiki it's 46.1 but according to Yamaha's website it's 45.5.
