@@WW2HistoryHunter I love to watch where both sides where in war. But wish we never had it.. Europe needs to stop hurting other europeans and stand has one.
@@cincoy3679 I hate to say that i think it is coming again with Germany, they are unfortunately caught in the middle of the East/West war with Russia waiting to try to use them as a key player to their plan.
@@cincoy3679 Well i didnt want to say it but yes i hope Germany finish the job this time, people say that they were evil but the real truth is that they wanted to save themselves from the Russian evil , and ''other'' types of evil. Germany only lost due to some tactical errors in Russia, If those commanders had stayed loyal, timed it better and made some tactical changes then they would have had the '' Sieg'' , and i cannot be too wrong in saying this as Churchill had planned to make an attack with the inclusion of German soldiers after the war , so to me that says that the Allies would rather trust Germans over Russians! Personally i love Germans, their precision, perfection, they have always been a nation full of genius minds, stylish too!
I'm always amazed at the amount of structures that are still standing,I have to say ,what they built has really stood the test of time.Thank you both👍❤️🇺🇸
That was a great location. It looked like a small place but it was packed . The fire control bunker was great never seen one like it ! Good to see you healed up EE ! EE you spotted all the barbed wire great job EE ! Thanks HH such an amazing place & thanks for sharing it with us ! Be careful ! Be safe !👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice video you put together. In the control room. The small holes in the wall. Was mostly to shoot from top level to lower or outside. Incase they was breached they could control to fight. They even used to communicate from room to room.
Great to see EE is doing so well after his injury! It's amazing how much faster kids heal than us old codgers. Thanks for bringing us along to this incredible place!
I visited a few abandoned WW2 airfields in my area, one with an intact but weathered control tower had a vibe to it. Some of the other airfields felt peaceful, you must find yourself that some sites just have that vibe. Yet another great video, your research & perseverance in finding us these sites, is second to none.
So awesome to see EE recovering well from his broken arm so quickly. Great stuff! Love this location. It is still quite amazing to realise how extensive the Atlantic Wall fortifications were. With every bay and inlet needing bunkers and gun emplacements, and firing bunkers, and so on. The time needed, to build and equip all these different sites alone, is mind boggling. Love that Firing Control Bunker with its weird angled ladder. Most unusual. Yes, all that wooden cladding lying around is probably original as you can see some is still in place behind the bottom part of the angled ladder. That angled hole between the floors is for passing commands and reports, back and forth, from the observers up top, to the guys plotting ship and gun movements down below. It's little details like that, that make these out of the way places so interesting. Just love seeing these "forgotten" peices of WW2 history. Thank you for bringing this to us. Cheers to you both! Stay Safe!
The AW is so interesting you know , just because of all of that and the different locations. This place has a very special history as well and even today they find new details laying around the area. Loved to visit and EE is recovering so great and i love that. Thanks and greetings my friend.
What another awesome adventure! The terrain has camouflaged it so well it's amazing. I'm surprised the ladders are still there and sturdy enough to climb. It's so great to see EE is back to his old self. Especially with full control of his arm. Such a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing this and for taking me along. Take care and stay safe. 💖💯
Yes Julie , a great place that is to explore. EE is truly recovering well and so glad for all the encouraging words you all give him. Thanks and greetings from us.
In 1966, when I was 11 years old, my friend and I found a refuse dump from an 1880's Army Fort near the Custer Battlefield. The property was owned by a family friend so we were given free reign. We spent many days digging and found numerous artifacts. Uniform pieces, boot pieces, uniform buttons, many bottles, broken plates, spoons, knives, forks...and the most sought after "US" Belt Buckles. Sadly a new road alignment in the 70's obliterated the dump site.
Thank you both for dodging the cow poop, the tall grass and the many fences to bring us this video! The fire control bunker was in amazing condition, all things considered, and it is obvious it is not visited as all the materials would have likely been pilfered. So glad the EE has the use of his arm and shoulder!! Looking forward to the next video! Stay safe and well!!
Thank you Donald. Yes this place has it all and it is rarely visited it seems as so much is still laying around there. EE is healing up greatly and thanks for your incredible support Donald. Greetings from us and stay safe :)
When I see these old gun placements I always wonder whether those particular guns ever fired in anger. I'd imagine if an allied ship was fired upon there there would be records of it? Great video as always HH, and good to see EE's arm recovering well
This one time I was in Normandy and found 20 mg42 shell casings next to a bunker and before I left I swear to God I heard a German ghost soldier say "hello" and I was alone and no one was around so it has to be one!
Amazing what you can find when you know where to look. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and thank you EE for your enthusiasm and bravery. Glad your arm is healing so quickly and well.

Hello friends! Hello Eagle Eyes! So wonderful to see Eagle Eyes healing so well and making such good progress! Beautiful Bunker! Great location but it must have been a Bear in winter!
What an interesting and picturesque location HH. The variations in some of these defences constructed along the ’Atlantic Wall’ are fascinating, particularly when only a very small percentage of them saw any action. Glad to see EE is healing well after his mishap. Many thanks for taking us along with you and sharing your enthusiasm for history. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

@@WW2HistoryHunter It's looked like you were going to re-break Eagle Eyes arm again, when you you showing how much movement he had after having the cast removed 😂 That's awesome to see he is back to his old adventurous, confident self 😁 Physical injuries can definitely mess with your mental health 😭 That's awesome that he has gotten through that and is back to being active and confident within himself, but has the wisdom not to over do it... Memories of a lifetime being made everyday on the epic road trip ❤️
Great location my friend. The fact it is not a typical Todt construction is even better, the stonework is just beautiful. The FCB is a mastery of mason work. It is amazing what is just sitting there all these years later. That little mount pedestal in the lower deck of the FCB appeared to line-up with a window, could it have been a mount for a set of naval binoculars? I think you hit it that the upper pedestal was for the range finder, one of those 2-3m units. EE it is nice to see the mobility coming back to the arm. It takes time to get it to return, so be patience and just keep working it. I have been there and done the same. For all stay safe and well out there.
yes i agree , such great , not Todt , structures and i loved to see that place. EE is so proud and thanks for your great support and encouraging words for him. Thanks William.
What is that black thing with the markings on the table between the helmet and the bottle @ 10:57 ? Another beautiful location! Please tell EE that I am glad that his recovery is going well. Stay safe, guys!
It’s wonderful to see these locations. I love seeing how they are the same but also different. The way they are built and the location they are at. Some are hugely fortified while others not so much. This location took advantage of the rocks in the terrain to build these locations while other locations used concrete, bricks and steel. I really enjoyed seeing the fire and control bunker. The slanted ladder going to the second floor was unusual. The rooms were very large. I wonder if this was some of the first bunkers the Germans built?
Another great video from the "Team"! Keep exercising that arm, Adler Augen! Thought- have any of these land owners/farmers ever thought of taking those bundles of wire to a recycling center?? Was simply wondering. Thank you all for that location. A really beautiful area; I'm sure those cow appreciate the view.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Interesting. American farmers, unfortunately, are way too lazy to reuse something like that. Plus our recycle programs are so few that I doubt the farmers here would bother. Looks like "burying" is the common denominator between the old country and the new. Reason I asked the question is that grew up on a dairy farm. 'Junk piles' that were there in my youth are still there. Many thanks for the response! Stay safe in your travels my friend.
Fantastic video and location. Good to see EE is out of the cast and is getting stronger everyday. I think this style of building is much better than the cast concrete variety, seems to have more thought to its build.
How many of these gun emplacements did they have along those beaches? How many men are assigned to each gun unit? How many kilometers did these units cover?
That gun emplacement, if you re-work it with flagstone or patio blocks would make a nice picnic/ barbecue area. The area looks like a pretty quiet place almost like a park
HH, what are you feeding EE? In the couple of years I've watched you, he has grown at least a foot. I presume that many of the bunkers and gun placements you showed were blown in or backfilled. The one underlying current I take away from your vlogs is the power of nature to erase the scars of war.
I know Paul , he is the tallest boy at his level in school these days and i dont know why he is growing that much so quick but you should just see how much he eats. More then me at the dinner table :) Thanks Paul :)
I believe the slope part near the observation and probably machine gun post of this bunker was used to check who was coming into the bunker without the need to to go down and get shot.
The best part of this video was seeing EE back to his old self again, that made my day, tell his Uncle Bill from Louisiana that I'm very proud of him. Great job HH, did you ever get my email ?
@@WW2HistoryHunter It's my pleasure and honor to be associated with yall, I sent you my mailing address, nothing major, take your time, I'm just happy everyone's safe and in good health, that's the main thing, it may be a while in hearing from me after this Tuesday, gotta get my right rotater cuff worked on, so I'll be chasing u boats, stukas, tiger tanks etc....when I get home. So very, very gorgeous there. Perfect position for the Kreigsmarine defensive set-up. The cows looked pretty saucy grazing on top of the ammo bunker. The brown one was closing watching you. It would have been interesting to see the Schneider anti-aircraft gun . Was there ever alot of German barbed wire. You wouldn't want to fall on any of that HH 🥺 The fire & control bunker was quite large. Also, wonder where all the wood came from. That structure also placed in ab ideal position. I hope your arm continues to heal quickly EE. You are a tough little soldier. Interesting site. Thanks EE & HH.

Happy looking cows 😁
Guardians of the the history in an amazing persevered location.
Thank you so much for being out there discovering and sharing with us ❤️
we will soldier on my friend and discover whatever we can :) The cows there must be guarding something as they looked so interested in everything we did :) Thanks Casey :)
Hi WW2HH, cheers for sharing the video. Just wondering are there any chance tripwires, landmines still active in a historic area such as this?
Actually at some locations yes but very few. Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Wow, careful out there while venturing then friend 👍🏻
Awesome location, fantastic history as always. Huge thank you to yourself and EE.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video HH and EE. This control bunker is the best yet so full of history and artifacts,so glad you both found it and took me there!!😎🐓🐓🐓🐓🇬🇧🇺🇦
Glad you enjoyed it Christopher and greetings from us.
Great location. Congratulations to EE on his recovery. Stay safe my friends.
Thank you! Will do!
Hello friends! Hello Eagle Eyes! So wonderful to see Eagle Eyes healing so well and making such good progress! Beautiful Bunker! Great location but it must have been a Bear in winter!
Thank YOU for your incredible support and for the encouraging words for Eagle Eyes. Thanks
Another great video, and nice to se EE back in action, in your adventures.
Thanks my friend and greetings from us.
Agree Gary , such amazing details to look into and study at some of these locations Just love it. EE is healing up very well these days and we thank you for your encouraging words and support. Greetings my friend.
What a great location! So glad EE has recovered full use of his arm ❤️
It really is and thanks to YOURS and all the rest for your encouraging words. Thanks Beverley :)
Beautiful and interesting locations show you again. Still a lot to see about old memories and how the landscape has been shaped after the years
All our pleasure my friend and will share so much more with you later :)
Fantastic and spectacular location ❤️
Great to see Eagle Eyes back to his old self, with the cast off and his arm recovering 😁
I look forward to the next episode.
Keep up the awesome work.
Have fun on your adventures 😁
Agree Casey and it is thank to you and all the rest who supported EE so greatly when he had that accident and now he is like a new boy , so happy and so,,Eagle Eyes :) Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter
It's looked like you were going to re-break Eagle Eyes arm again, when you you showing how much movement he had after having the cast removed 😂
That's awesome to see he is back to his old adventurous, confident self 😁
Physical injuries can definitely mess with your mental health 😭
That's awesome that he has gotten through that and is back to being active and confident within himself, but has the wisdom not to over do it...
That was cool how he decided not to climb the ladder as he said it was too dangerous, but then managed to climb up the other ladder 😁
You're a real trooper Eagle Eyes 🙏
Take care, have fun and listen to your awesome Dad.
Memories of a lifetime being made everyday on the epic road trip ❤️
Hi HH
Fascinating absolutely fascinating,
Cheers
Agree Martin and thanks again for your great support :)
The wood on the floor at 16:33 didn't look that old. Interesting though. Maybe someone tried to repurpose some of these structures.
Could be and thanks for watching.
I always watch WW2 movie or history lots of love from India Nagaland
Thanks for that and greetings from us to India :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter where are you from guys
Super location ! Glad to see EE getting back to his normal self. looking good guy's , have fun out there !
Thanks! Will do!
Loved the video. Beautiful location Thank you
Thank YOU JimmyB for being here with us. Greatly appreciated.
this guy does his homework well done love this channel!
Appreciated Rich and greetings from us.
What is that black thing with the markings on the table between the helmet and the bottle @ 10:57 ? Another beautiful location! Please tell EE that I am glad that his recovery is going well. Stay safe, guys!
That is a ultra rare FLAK gun , in field , auxiliary aiming device. We have found 4 of them so far. Thanks for being here.
Amazing place. So glad to see Eagle Eyes arm is doing better. Such an amazing young man. Can’t wait for the next one. Stay safe m6 friends
Thank you! Will do!
It was built pretty early yes and what a great place to explore and share. Thanks Anthony.
EE says hello here my friend. Farmers often collect the wire and just either bury it or re-use it actually. Thanks for being here my friend.
Glad to hear Eagle Eyes doing great and back in action also as always thanks for the great content 😎🇺🇸👍🏻🦅🇩🇪
He is indeed my friend and so glad for that. Thanks for being here :)
👍❤. Looking forward to seeing more.
More to come for sure Robert and greetings from us :)
Fantastic video and location. Good to see EE is out of the cast and is getting stronger everyday. I think this style of building is much better than the cast concrete variety, seems to have more thought to its build.
agree my friend and EE says thanks for your kind words. Greetings from us.
How many of these gun emplacements did they have along those beaches? How many men are assigned to each gun unit? How many kilometers did these units cover?
That is not something i know but there are many thousand installments along the Atlantic Wall. Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Thank you for your reply.
Great video have you been to the Channel Islands there are some good bunkers over there .
Well all in due time :) thanks.
That gun emplacement, if you re-work it with flagstone or patio blocks would make a nice picnic/ barbecue area. The area looks like a pretty quiet place almost like a park
it is a fantastic great little spot and so peaceful today. Loved it and thanks :)
I believe the slope part near the observation and probably machine gun post of this bunker was used to check who was coming into the bunker without the need to to go down and get shot.
ok and thanks for watching.
EXCELLENT WORK 🙏😇🕊️🌹👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Double good news: another excellent video; and the healing of EE's left arm!
Indeed and thanks Sue :)
There is so much history like here in finland. Lots stuff everywhere.
Thanks for watching.
The best part of this video was seeing EE back to his old self again, that made my day, tell his Uncle Bill from Louisiana that I'm very proud of him. Great job HH, did you ever get my email ?
i will for sure do that and we greatly appreciate you being here my friend :) ps ; will read about 120 mails as soon as i can :)
I succeeded in getting my wife mad at me, told ya she's pure Italian, was watching Das Boot, again for the 25th time, anyways I called her a macaroni, 3 rules with an Italian lady, 1 she owns the kitchen, 2 never say I can't eat anymore 3 do not get her mad. I broke all 3 rules. With both hands on her hips, cussing in Italian and , well I opened my mouth big enough to fit a king tiger in. I now know what idiato primo means too.
amazing stuff you have found ,, keep it coming ..
Thanks, will do!
Who are you?? Do you have a name?? Email me if that's best
Glad to see that Eagle eyes is doing better. Happy he can be on the big adventure with his dad dosen't get much better than that. Best from Rob in California
Thank you and EE says hello here :) Thanks and greetings from us.
Are you allowed to metal detect in a location like this?
It depends on what the landowners says. Thanks.
Thank you very much. Where exactly is this? It would be great if in future you could display the location your are visiting on a map? Thanks again, very interesting.
Well so far we never reveal any locations but who knows in the future. Thanks.
What an amazing site you have shown us today, I have never seen an FCB with the crew bunker beneath it before and all made of field stone and not concreate just spectacular, EE you are recovering so well and fast so amazing. I hope the research you have been doing EE is coming along and that you have been finding some amazing site for your Dad to take you and us to see. I have so much more to say but will send that in an email.
Thank you for the kind words and i agree what a great location that is. Will read your mail as soon as possible my friend. Greetings from us.
great video
Thanks for the visit
Thanks! Maybe this will get you a 1/2 tank of fuel. Enjoying the history!
Wow , thank you for that my friend and it will for sure keeps us out there more and give us more to share with you. Appreciated and greetings from us.
Thanks EE & HH.
yes those are German ww2 cows defending the area still :) Great place and thanks Laura for being here.
@@WW2HistoryHunter 🤣
Would have loved to have known where..
Thanks for watching.
This is a very interesting area indeed. Alot of activity around there during ww2 Some really big guns not too far away from there I guess ;) Looking forward to the continuation.
There is quite a lot of different features around there and will show more later. Thanks.
chute at 19:06 is likely to drop spent shells into a truck or cart below.
That could be it yes and thanks for watching.
