Lovely! Great job not boring us with too much filming of detailed parts of the project. One word of caution...consider holding the cap with a pair of pliers when you drill the hole to avoid an accident. :-)
Hi I love these twinkling lights and plan in making them for our July 4th cookout celebration. We drink lots of water and have plenty empty water bottles for this project. Thank you for the share of you're video. 👍
Reminds of of a Passion flower which I’ve been wanting to create in some craft form or the than paintings or drawing. Thanks for filling the in the inspiration.
Very pretty such a wonderful ideal thanks for posting.. After watching I decided to give them a try. After following the video had the bottle cut apart and strips made for the petals. I pressed them down on table bottle cap part up and the petals kinda spread them self out had to adjust a few. Keep them pressed down against table. hold the cap/lid be sure to wear gloves and hit it with heat gun for a sec it done them all at once so I didn't have to use the side of table like in the video and just do a few peddles at a time.. after that was done I used $0.89 spray paint from Walmart (red, white, blue colors) to get the different colors. they turned out great. after dried I took the to the storage building and put the in the tote with my 4th of July decorations..These two steps saved a lot of time so I figured I would share with everyone.. Have a great day all and Keep on crafting
This is a cool project! the lights can be used any time of year. A strand of 35 lights would be nice to hang anywhere in the home making the firework flowers any color. The glitter you suggested is cool too as I am a glitter freak! Great Idea! Hope you have more ideas in the future! I am on facebook ;)
I am going to give this craft a try with my grandma who I am visiting for the summer in newport beach california and I will also sugest it to my parents in oregon so they can be decorative and green too. if it works out we will probally put them up for our party.
These would make great artificial flowers in your flower beds when the blooms have not formed yet or after the blooms have died.Would not need the lights for them though. They ar awesome ! Thank you !
? we were wondering where did u but your heating gun at ? thank u, i am always wanting something red, white blue, that what i am fixing to put on my door red white blue wreath ! thanks for sharing .
hi very lovely lights but on a safety note using the drill in the lid why not use either Plasticine or blue tac to hold in place as this will allow you to position rearrange as required without it flying off
Thank you. I have more pictures of them on my blog. If you go into the information on the video, you'll see the web address of the blog. It won't let me post the link here in the comments. I took a picture in the dark, but I can't seem to get a good picture with my camera. I'll try again tonight and if not, I'll see if I can shoot a quick video. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Happy 4th! Mona
I recommend you drill the hole first in the cap, with it on the bottle,.. easier to hang on to. find the right size drill bit. also using colored lights instead.. or maybe food coloring & vinegar. great idea,, thanks!
For making the hole in the cap you could use a hole-punch for making eyelets in leather belts,,,, less dangerous than drilling your hand , don't ask me how I know ,,.keep crafting ,.Alf
My only other advice is if you have acrylic/fake nails be very careful using a heating tool. Friend spent good money getting hers done. Showed us a project using the heating tool and wrecked her nails. They didn't just mess up the paint job it actually melted them-ouch!
CraftKlatch I was thinking of experimenting with the colors that I'd paint the bottle tops then about which color light to put in the socket to see how many good, decent colors I could get. I'm going to have to have some help since I have "monochromatic" eye sight. I see most everything in black, white or gray. According to optomologist I'm one of the few that has the worst case of color blindness there is. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble. Anyway, thank you much responding to my comment and I hope you many, many years of success in what ever you do. Bye!!!🙋😇
Absolutely!!!!! The bottoms of some water bottles make pretty flowers too! I was going to make some, but haven't yet.
Interesting inventive craft for 4th of July. Simple and elegant too.

That's a great idea! Not meaning to be rude, but I think I'll use flashing lights in mine to see how it looks. Thanks again!

Really Cute Idea
Will they keep their shape? I've never tried it that way before.
Mona
Thanks Pamela!
Mona
Why don't you use a flat or round curling iron? Might work, great cute idea I like this craft!
I Absolutely LOVE this. Have you tried on LED Lights?
Very nice idea, I will try this.
great idea
perfectly done.. :)
BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU!!
Thank you for sharing
Very clever!
I love this!!! But quick question, I don't own a heat gun, what else could I use?
Try bending it and see if it will stay. It might work. You can try a hair dryer to warm it up too! Thanks for watching!
so cutee
Thanks Ruth! Let me know how they turn out!
Gosh I don't know Lisa. I've never tried it. I have heard of people using candles, but I haven't tried that either. Thanks for watching!
Mona
enjoyed your viedo.
cute idea.. Pam
Yay! Thanks for watching!
you could always put tea lights instead of twinkle lights so that you could decorate tables with them as well
Awesome, where did u get the light part
Can you post a video or pic of these at night? I bet they are beautiful.
WOW
omg! thanks for the info.
I would love to see a picture of it at night
Thank you! I try not to, but sometimes I run too long anyway. Thanks for watching!
? we were wondering where did u but your heating gun at ?
thank u, i am always wanting something red, white blue, that what i am fixing to put on my door red white blue wreath ! thanks for sharing .
you could just use a warmer plate, just open it up and slide it open while you lightly push it open. Thanks for the idea..
hi very lovely lights but on a safety note using the drill in the lid why not use either Plasticine or blue tac to hold in place as this will allow you to position rearrange as required without it flying off
Cool
I wonder if this would work with bottles that are already colored- like green lemon-lime drinks...?Great presentation, thanks!
+Denise Carpenter I think that would absolutely work Denise!

I wish we could have seen a picture of what they look like in the dark
I recommend you drill the hole first in the cap, with it on the bottle,.. easier to hang on to. find the right size drill bit. also using colored lights instead.. or maybe food coloring & vinegar. great idea,, thanks!
I am going to try this with a few modifications
How did you heat set the (marker) ink in the bottles to keep them from flaking, peeling or getting
scratched off?
Shawnette Breaux I just used a heat gun. It's for melting embossing powder for rubber stamping.
For making the hole in the cap you could use a hole-punch for making eyelets in leather belts,,,, less dangerous than drilling your hand , don't ask me how I know ,,.keep crafting ,.Alf

What size water bottle are you using?
u can also put wax in them and use as candles for decorations
how well will these be in the sun or rain?
+TINA KELLEY They are plastic. They are fine.
If you try it, let me know if it works!
Hi! I was thinking about trying a brick instead of spatula. I'll Let you know!
--Denise
Is that a dremmel you used?
For the lid, I make an X shaped slit with an Exacto. For those ladies whose men wont let them touch their tools. Lol
nice
Good
Can you use a hair dryer
When u drilled the cap it sounded like an air guitar
Cnan you use a hair dryer
if u dont have a heat gun just smush it down on a flat surface and there u go!!
I posted a video of them last night. You can find it if you go to my Channel. Thanks!
shut up and take my money
Boring
Let save our time by not say "and" so much
That's a great idea! Not meaning to be rude, but I think I'll use flashing lights in mine to see how it looks. Thanks again!
Thanks and I don't think it's rude at all. Everyone needs to have their own vision!
