- Edited version of "Built to Kill," the track that plays for Slaughterspines and Tremortusks. I added the Shepard's Tone from Slaughterspine fights and made a few other minor edits to this one.

Wow, guys. Thank you for all of the views and comments! I'm stoked that so many people have come to check out this incredible track. In game, the music is coded to switch to a Shepard's Tone/doppler rise whenever the slaughterspine's plasma cannon starts charging up, which is really cool in the moment, but can be jarring if you're just listening to a game rip of the music. All due respect to every UA-camr who ripped this from the game so we could listen to it, but it just wasn't a musical experience. My goal here was to make something more musically cohesive, with proper transitions and none of the weird overlap.

I remember when I first saw the icon on the map and I needed parts from it. I was like ‘slaughterspine huh? Neat.’ Spoiler warning it wasn’t neat! It was a horrifying experience where I was running and screaming in terror to dodge this thing! I only won cause I had a ton of explosives! Saw that thing later on and straight up had ptsd. It’s only when I was at end game level of gear I was like ‘miss me asshole?!’ And would actively hunt these things for parts and spite.
Definitely the spookier Thunder jaw. Thunder jaw has 4 weapons that can fairly easily be shot off. This boy has eight razor thin blasters on his back, three batteries that are only exposed half the time, and he's got way more AOE.

Its kind of unfortunate that the Thunderjaw is so underwhelming compared to the Slaughterspine. Like it looks so much more menacing but in reality it's one of the easiest machines to take down@@Navel_Colt
@@grotn_ I love intense boss fights, so the Thunderjaw was my favorite boss in Zero Dawn, because he was so fun to fight in that game. But in Forbidden West, both the new machines and Aloy had such a big power upgrade that the Thunderjaw became childs play.

Slaughterspine was the machine I loved to hate, my pure nemesis made to remind me that the best part of this game are the God-like boss fights. That´s why I decided to fight an Apex Slaughterspine with my best headphones at volume 100%, just before I say goodbye to my Ultra Hard 130 hours playthrough, and sell my beloved PS4. One year has passed and this machine is still one of the many reasons why I miss this game. So, if you find this message and you can still play this game, DON´T play this fight, FEEL THE FIGHT, LIVE THE FIGHT!

My favorite machine in the entire game. Saw its silhouette after completing the water cauldron (I think it was the water cauldron), read the name, and immediately made a mental side quest to hunt it down (spinosaurus is my favorite dinosaur). Once I got to the isle of spires, I immediately ran to the western slaughterspine site and my GOD was this thing worth the 20 hour (probably more) wait.
You can find one near boat before heading to isle of spires(San Francisco)

Hearing this track when your fighting that slaughterspine in cauldron Gemini almost made me shite myself, it has such a great way of communicating its moves and ideas that I feel no other track can in any game ever.
Maybe strange, but it almost feels sad to have to kill this fantastic beast (for parts). So if it's not necessary, I don't do it. Definitely my number one favorite!

That build up reminds me of safijiva nova in monster hunter. When he charges it up then nothing but silence followed by that devastating nuke style nova it does.

Usually i fight everything i run into, but the first time i seen one walking around on that beach i said "is that a spinosaurus? im good".

But then i got to the one you fight in the story and realized how the music matched his charging and thought that was cool as hell.
