It's so rare to find fashion videos that really delve into more philosophical approaches to style. I love the tip about irony-never thought of it in that way before-and the whole video is so on point. Thank you!
Indeed, dear Christie, Dearly Bethany truly teaches style and she does it from a philosophical point a view. I appreciate the manner in which she provides information. There is also another youtuber, Anna Yakimenko who is a Russian professional stylist based in Milan who also teaches style and not fashion. Her concept is also about implementing style not only to clothes, but to our daily life in general, eg. to home interior/exterior, eating,... According to her, a woman with style is the one who is harmoniously stylish in every aspect of her life. You can watch her videos by putting on the Subtitles option in English language, as she speaks in Russian. She is very methodical in her teachings and very agreeable as a person to watch/listen to.
For real! I can listen to her podcasts(if she ever made any🥺) for hours with absolute pleasure, the dialogue, the delivery everything, its so well articulated, no fake “tips or tricks” just pure knowledge based on actual knowledge. Love it, love it, love it. 💕💕
I always thought I loved clothes but after listening to you I understood what the love for clothes and crafting actually means. You described it so well as if you feel every thread of what you wear. We all need to have this level of passion towards our garments to fully express ourselves. Thank you for such an explanation 💕
I am so loving the content that you’re putting out right now. It’s like walking into a new blossoming transition of life and I am right there with you.
Ooh the color one is so important yet so frustrating. The last few years of fashion have been great with warm tones like mustard appearing everywhere. Now I see many stores turning to pastels which do absolutely nothing for me 😞
I wish brands would consider both warm and cool skin tones when doing their collections instead of focusing on just one each season. It is Autumn (fall) in the southern hemisphere right now and pastels are still everywhere. They don't do anything for me either.
I'm a broke lil fashionista. 98% of my clothes are from thrift stores. I can never afford anything over 10 dollars or 20 dollars. With a small budget, I really pick my clothes carefully. Color pallete wise, budget, quantity, and even quality. There are good days and bad. Sometimes I'd buy something that are too dressy or hard to mismatch. I'll just find myself wearing the same top and bottom cause only both of them work together. Your videos are really helpful to me. I always follow your tips. I religiously take note of your advices to heart. Especially the warm undertone advices. Life changer
This video is incredible. I loved seeing the color swatches on the screen as a kind of border to the video as well as showing warm and cool, really beautiful work.
Wow. I just love listening to you talk about why you choose what you wear. I have never put this much conscious thought into my clothes. You inspire me.
To be honest, I came across your videos by complete chance. I would not even consider myself particularly fashionable. However, I'm very impressed by your clarity of thought, your dedication to your wardrobe and the thoughtfulness and at the same time effortlessness of your outfits. I find your whole approach very interesting and inspiring! So thanks a lot for making these videos!

I'm 66 and still trying to find my style. You are so young to have learned all this already. I'm going to subscribe to see what all 8 can learn from you. Thank you.
Thank you, this is really useful 💖 especially right now that I'm doing a major declutter of my closet and I'm feeling overwhelmed by the large amount of stuff I have vs the small amount that I actually reach for and and wear daily. I held on to many things that I never felt confident walking out the door with (although I really did love the pieces) and I see now it was the undertone. I also need to downsize and I love the idea of a no-fail core wardrobe and the basic colour palette. I'll try to use your criteria to think of my current task as "shopping" my own wardrobe instead of a "declutter" and if I feel the piece I'm holding is not something I would have bought today, it will be much easier to discard. Even if it's just clothes, I feel when I streamline that part of getting ready (the wardrobe) it will have a huge impact on how I begin my day.

ooh the undertone and color discussion pairs very well with this video I watched, cocoa styling. I think it's still a bit confusing as far as cool v warm v undertones but when you see the colors on yourself or other people, you get it
Long before I could afford better fabrics I learned that dressing in colours that are right for my complexion to be far more expensive looking than any pricey fashions in unflattering shades . Often by being closed minded to new things on every front leaves many good things unexperienced in life . Modern classics are my style but I do occasionally buy something of another style sometimes b/c I liked something on someone else . The item is usually soon returned but I was willing to try it .

Hello Bethany 🥰 I love your content and your style and you’ve inspired me and educated me so much in my journey to curate my wardrobe ☺️ (I’m a petite and approaching the end of my 20s so I think my soul is asking for change!) I wanted to thank you for that and ask if you could do a video on your best practical advice to care for those pieces that you love and wish to keep for as long as possible. Thank you!!!🤗
thanks Maria! You're not alone, that is a request I often get. For now I can tell you that I use a steamer on my clothes between wears. Steamers are more gentle on clothes than irons, esp silks. The steam deodorizes and somewhat sterilizes, aside from removing some wrinkles. I do iron when needed though. And I wash clothes with cold water on the gentle cycle. And I use Woolite delicate detergent for silks and woolens.

Hi Bethany, I found this video incredibly helpful...such great advice. I would love to see photos of your wedding gown and veil!! Thanks for sharing! ;-)
When redoing your wardrobe how many pieces should you have in your wardrobe? For example how many pairs of shoes? How many pants? How intentional are you with it? Do you follow like the capsule wardrobe? I’m asking because I know a lot of people tend to overwhelm themselves with so much clothes and end up not being able to match them .
