The lever in the elevator is what was used years ago when they employed ppl to operate the elevator for guests. Taking them to the floors they requested.
I've been in the hospital for over a week with no Internet and I'm so glad to be out and to see you again. Im very familiar with the history and hauntings of the Stanley, but I've never heard of the frozen dead guy before. Good to see you again my friend
@@nikitatro5508 Thank so much! I'm gratified to know I was conspicuous in my absence. I apologize for not responding sooner but UA-cam doesn't always give me notifications and I didn't see it until just now. Thank again!
My husband & I watch your vids all the time and love them....Jen gave us a big laugh with her "Jessica Simpson "moment, (albacore)...she is just so cute!!
Saturday October 26, 2024 they will have the Emma Crawford Coffin Races and Festival in Manitou Springs Colorado. I hope you mark this in your calendar and take us along with you on the traditional celebration
I live about 50 miles from the Stanley been there many times and the only time I felt a spirit was in the ballroom so it is indeed haunted Enjoying watching you and Jenn having a good time at the "Frozen dead Guy days"
Wow, when you said you felt a spirit in the ballroom I got shivers! I took a group on a ghost tour at the Stanley a couple of years ago and saw a woman near the top. I asked the tour guide if we could go up there too and she said it was closed off and no one was allowed up there. She said it was a ghost.
I can immediately see one issue with cryonics aside from brain death... how do you minimize or prevent cellular damage from the freezing process? I mean, you'd think something like full-body frostbite would be a problem. 🤔
You are correct. As of today it is permanent damage at the cellular level unable to live again. Who knows in 1000 years though but everything and everyone you knew I'd ancient history. Not worth it.
Good thing you are rid of that rental and getting your money back. Happy you didn’t get snowed in. Looking forward to the festival video and the Shining tour 😊
A family friend did the ocean memorial/disposal. They add your ashes to concrete, which is cast into reef starters. They give the family the coordinates of where you were placed so they can come drop flowers from a boat, or just watch the progress as your reef grows. As for me, I’ve sent my son the pic of the skeleton guitar & told him he has my permission to do that, otherwise have them harvest my skull, cremate the rest & have the ashes made into 2 gems, mount the gems in my eye sockets, and bam! I’m now the official family guardian elder. I did tell him he could rig me to a singing fish type plaque if he really wanted on that one 🤷♀️😂
What a fascinating visit with the frozen grandfather and the cryogenic chamber. I agree with Jenn, cryogenics offer hope for those that can afford it but I like the idea of just returning to the earth or the ocean. Stay warm and safe. Thank you.
The Stanley Hotel AND Frozen Dead Guy Days?! I'm SO excited and happy! Also thanks for the view from the drive up there. As much as I hate the cold and can't handle "real winter" anymore, Colorado will always be my home state. I'm so glad to see it from your and Jenn's perspective!
The museum was opened in 2023! Smithsonian online has a good article explaining how Estes Park and the Stanley got involved with the festival and the cryo company for educational benefit and tourism winter dollar benefit, all because of this do-it-yourself frozen Grandpa.
Just FYI, Estes is pronounced like es-tess (no long "e"). The "crank" on elevator is originally how the elevator employee would manually operate it before we had buttons. Moving it back would go down, moving it forward would go up, straight up would stop it. The further you moved it to either side would make it go faster.
You were talking to Jenn about finding a Frozen body... In a clinical setting wouldn't be to bad, But stumbling across one in the wild, I think would be quite unsettling. But seems people find frozen bodies in the Alps often.
I know I had to dig my car out yesterday morning just outside of Denver. That was a big storm and I'm glad you are both safe. I do need to go out there and check that out. Will probably wait till the weather warms up.
A Couple Good ideas that people are doing now. 1) Being Buried under leaves and soil slowly turning your body into compost 2)Tree Pod Burial Trees instead of tombstones you can actually hug your loved one when their Tree sapling gets bigger This was A Very Entertaining experience one I have Never Heard of until now. This has been a Laurl and Hardy Moment Super Enjoyable. I Love it when you Both do your Video Together uncandid moments of Fun
The whole entire Frozen Dead Guy story has got to be one of the most Norwegian things I've ever heard. It reminds me of that one guy who drinks vodka and bathes in ice. I think his UA-cam channel is called "Apetor."
If you watch Steven kings the shining then it’s like a 5 hour miniseries but it was actually filmed at the Stanley. I honestly like that version better than Stanley Kubrick version. But it’s looonnnnggg! I stayed in a haunted room there years ago and our sink kept turning on and off, have fun with the ghosts!!!
Have we not learned anything from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein?! 😂 The whole story was a warning that man needs to keep his ego in check. Or face the consequences! 🧟♀️
Morning Jacob 😊🌞 good your at Stanley hotel , were the Shining was filmed lol some other parts i think were filmed elsewhere. You have fun while going in the hotel, i would of love to see it in person. Thanks for sharing this.🤓📸✌️
There is one thing I can never understand about freezing and bringing back after a cure is found. That is you've already died of whatever the ailment was. So even if they found a cure for whatever it is they would also have to be able to revert all the cells which then died or were damaged, including brain cells. That is the old manual elevator control some also had a little seat next to it as well for the operator. You still find them in current service with older commercial buildings in say freight elevators.
Kubick’s Shining used the Timberline Lodge in Oregon as a base for the exterior. Pretty much everything filmed were sets in England but wide shots shot by helicopter are of the hotel in Oregon. Interior shots of the main lobby, elevator and all, are an exact copy of the Ahwahnee Hotel lobby areas in Yosemite National Park.
You two had me and my husband laughing so hard 😂 loved the information and you two talking about the frozen dead guy and your thoughts on your own demise 😮 can't wait for the next video 📹 have a nice evening
Kind of a morbid thought....BUT I think MR AND MRS CARPETBAGGER SKELETONS hanging in a Dark Ride - like at Haunted Mansion in Disney World would be awesome and very fitting for you both!! :)
When my beloved brother died, I got a few tablespoons of his ashes. But they actually creep me out. The rest of his ashes were buried in a cemetery plot. In retrospect, I think keeping anyone's remains is wrong. When it's time for you to be gone, go. Keep mementos and photos of the person. That's enough.
Hi Jacob hi Jen. You’re in my hometown of Colorado. I come to Estes Park many times a year and I did not even realize that they had the dead guy in the Stanley wow next time I go up there I’ll have to check it out thank you guys fun video.
Jacob wants to follow the afterlife adventures of Elmer McCurdy. 🤣 (If you don't know his story, you MUST check this out. You could make a road trip out of visiting all the important locations in Elmer's life and afterlife.)
The lever in the elevator is what was used years ago when they employed ppl to operate the elevator for guests. Taking them to the floors they requested.
Jacob you and Jen have the most interesting and funny conversations. I loved that. ❤ Bev GB
That banter between you two about what to do with your dead bodies was hilarious!
I freaking love you two! Thank you for taking us along on your travels.

Isn’t un-thawed the same as frozen? 😉 Welcome to our back yard! I’m glad you made it through the winter snow squall.
Eeeek! The Stanley Hotel is on my bucket list! Can't wait for your Shining Tour video!
"I'd cuddle with your sludge!" omg.
"He's not only merely dead. He's really most sincerely dead."

Your videos together are awesome, great chemistry.
I don't think I'll freeze myself when the time comes. The temporary nature of life is what makes it so beautiful.
This one is in the ice bag. For some reason i never realized this place would be a hotel still with tours. Something to look forward too.

At the pet cemetary, I would have looked for little or large pawprints on top of the untouched snow... ❤
Jen’s sludge question 100% reminded me of that “would you still love me is I was a worm?” conversation lol

Welcome to Colorado! I thought that drive looked familiar! Love from Denver. ❤🎉😊
Can’t believe it’s still winter and snowing in Colorado in March. It’s 80 degrees here in SC. I do t know how you guys do it. Take care!
@@ozzie4306 March is the snowiest month in Colorado. 3ft of snow on Monday and 60 degrees today. LOL.
That was established in the year I was born. Wow, makes me feel old and could explain why I am always cold.
Good thing you are rid of that rental and getting your money back. Happy you didn’t get snowed in. Looking forward to the festival video and the Shining tour 😊
I believe that body freezing story was about Walt Disney
I was always fascinated by cryogenics. Do you remember that movie with Mel Gibson called Forever Young in the early 90s?
Just watched Popcorn in Bed react to it. Have seen it many times before though. Great film.
The Stanley Hotel is where Harry and Lloyd stayed in Dumb & Dumber!
That is very true
The Stanley is also known for serving outstanding bacon as well...

The Stanley Hotel was the hotel in the made for TV mini series "The Shining". It was even better than the theatrical version
Frozen Dead Guy Day! Woo-hoo! Enjoy!
So we know you OWN a warmer jacket but why do you refuse to wear it in the SNOW? 😂😂😂
Cool😊. Your brave to stay there at the haunted hotel
Jacob freezing himself for a possible future where cryptids rule.

My son was a frozen embryo for IVF. I think he was frozen for about 2 years. It is weird to think he is actually as old as his sisters 😊
