Act 1 Bosses in Path of Exile 2

- Here is a look at the Act 1 Bosses for PoE 2, this was by far the part I enjoyed the most about playing the couch co-op. Every zone had a very interesting boss with cool dialogue and interesting attacks animated very well. I liked a lot of things but these fights left me on a high note every time we defeated them. Even from the early beginnings of having very few skills/gear/passives it was satisfying to take these bosses down.

I believe there was at least a couple bosses we missed in act 1 as they are optional and we may not have searched everywhere in each zone. I also want to apologize for not having the same 4k quality that was recorded at the playtest, due this being recorded with an HDR supported TV there was a bit of issues with file conversion into a format my video editor could work with where it would lose Color correction thus resulting in being a lot more gray in nature. Because of this I decided to just record the recording I had which was a loss of quality instead of bricking the colors as much. Hope its still enjoyable to see these fights in action :D
@CaptainLance9 how's the renovation coming along?
9:09 Monk's Bell + Ranger's Barrage combo is awesome
Reminds me a little of the WoL set from D3. Seems kinda cool.
Finally someone tried out using other classes sklills 7:00 , love that the ranger is using fire wall to power up the projectiles
Yeah noticed this too. Was that a ranger using a firewall skill and orbs from the sorceress skill gems? With Mercenary rapid fire? That's so cool. Awesome!!!!
One of Mathil's mods played it apparently and said he did Witch minions + rolling magma and it was broken since they tanked everything for him and he could just spam his nukes.
Damn, PoE2 has more bosses in Act 1 than DiabloIII and DiabloIV combined...
Ok the Executioner one-tap serely lived up to his name.
Whoever is in charge of the sound design did a great job. I love that bell tolling when you place it down.
Remember looking up every second of every possible footage previously but nowadays saving it all up for an actual play later this year, can't damn wait so making Poe 2-like builds for poe1 already lmao.
Thanks for posting!
Dope, always nice to see more thinking about bossing :)
man im so hyped for poe2, so glad this is the direction they have taken things. My wrists can't keep up with poe1 hardly anymore and this game just looks so smooth to play with controller which is a huge quality of life improvement. I really hope I can play with controller and use mouse and keyboard for inventory and skill menus as thats how i generally play other games(D4, LE). The monks animations look so satisfying I can only hope they feel just as good to play with.
9:10 combo with your coop's skill looks fantastic!!
I wish I could fight those bosses too. Thanks Captain!
The spin after every kill always gets me lmao
The game looks great! thanks for sharing this
I love you lance but i couldnt stop laughing when I opened the video and it looked like YOU personally fought the act 1 bosses
Thunderguard has been slain.
Thunderguard has been slain.
Thunderguard has been slain.
Thunderguard has been slain.
Thunderguard has been slain.
Thunderguard has been slain.
i think i can see a pattern here ...
on another note: i hope the meta lvling setups will speed up the bosses a lot, i don't see myself enjoying 5 hours of raw bossing every league start (even if it is enjoyable the first 5-10 times)
the Devourer finally gets to be what he should have been. beautiful
Letssss gooo I give captain lance a standing ovation can't wait for poe2
The importance of boss design and combat methods seems to be the state of art. The battle tension and excitement of the soul genre were combined with the build freedom of the arpg genre. Cool. And the whole music, narratives, sounds, ambiences are just so dope. I'm ready to throw another thousands of hours for this game.
@CaptainLance9 how long was your act1? I'm wondering what's the % spent bossing.
Thanks for the video!!!
The bell with aoe increase is sick
Better voice than Lance? Can't be
Im glad it was coop so we didnt have to see the constant portaling to refill your potions !
Want to play it already
the progress this shows with GGG is insane. PoE1 each campaign zone has a "unique" (usually re-skin) mob with maybe a trick at best... PoE2 each zone has something akin to a pinnacle boss, maybe not in difficultly, but in complexity. that's an incredibly showcase of 10+ years of growth.
also the little ghost skeletons trying to crawl away from the two Praetors is fantastic.
going to be avoiding most of these and avoid spoilers, save it for my own 1st playthrough. I been wanting a good ARPG campaign
You probably gotta wait like 4 months. I think it releases near October
18:57 throwing all the shade at your coop partner
my take away: if you dont die to some newb move, as a ranged character, you'll never have an issue with these bosses. kinda disappointing that they're the same as poe1 bosses in that way.
almost like soldiers using guns over melee weapons in almost every scenario. crazy isn't it?
@@fate7506 wtf kind of retarded loser logic is that? this is a fantasy ARPG.
Wow did you guys notice the arrows turn to fire arrows when they pass through the flame wall? The interaction between skills are interesting.
That is like that in PoE1 as well.
Man the monster and creature design for this is smagnificent. and this is only ACT 1....
Honestly I feel like I would struggle to play melee on the co-op setup with a ranged partner. It took me until the Executioner fight to realize but I find my eye watching the ranger rather than the monk.
After thinking about it for a bit, I concluded that this is primarily due to the camera functionality.
My eyes are always on the lookout for movement. In particular, the faster something is moving in my vision relative to other objects, the more attention my brain gives it. This is why I struggle horribly on maven's memory game final phase with all the spinning lasers. I can't focus on the tile order due to the lasers. I don't bring cosmetic pets around with me in poe1 because my brain sees movement coming at me and I try to attack it.
With the camera following two people, you have one person mostly staying in one area, along with the boss, while the camera pans around following the ranged character. Combine that with fire walls and bell aoe covering up the melee character, the eye naturally gets drawn to the person the camera is following all around the arena.
It might feel different when actually playing since you're actually fighting and watching the boss' movements instead of spectating like I'm doing now. Looking forward to playing some lightning monk anyways.
I kind of really want to watch this and it's hard not to since it is such a spoiler... so muted / shoved into background liked and came back after 30 minutes ;) probably a good video though ! Thanks :D
Revive only in campain or are we no longer limited by portals in maps etc.? Seems OP to play in groups, if portals still exist.
Shut up, seriously loner
this is probably the only video ive seen of the test that used skill synergy well
*demonstrated the skill synergy system well*
The only one here I really didn't care for was the Bramble Abomination. It still seems too much like a poe1 boss. The bullet hell ball nearly being unavoidable, the constant quick autoattacks in close range, the lack of significant openings and larger telegraphed attacks. I hope that one still gets tuned.
3:40 I think Path of Exile 2 still don't have revive stone or something. I need careful then, when i fight vs bosses.
If they both die the area is reset and the boss is healed to full but they spawn at a nearby checkpoint
@@Crabunderscore Yeah sadly, but no problem. I need to learn dodge fast. Thanks the info. :)
I'm so excited to play Dark souls the ARPG
Cool bosses for campaign... can't wait for them to be triple turbo'd in juiced maps making every single mechanic a gear check instead of a skill check
I'm curious, how much did the mobs/bosses feel like punching bags? It looks so slow, but I don't know how much of that is because scuffed gear/skill gem setups or if it's a balance thing.
I'd also really like to know this
It appears to be lack of gear and support gems. Plus they are pushing for players to use support skills rather than gems because you can only use one support gem of each type in your build. So you can’t use added lighting damage or increased area of effect on more than one skill
I don't know why people are complaining about the speed of Act 1. Even poe1 can't give you any clearing speed at act1.
@@jinjade7189 In what world are you spending that much time on act 1 bosses? These bosses take five times longer than any act 1 boss in PoE 1 even with white items on league start.
Ask the monk.
You guys are really something
Does the monk not get allot of defense on its tree? Seems kinda odd that you died almost every fight, sometimes multiple times.
its the freaking act 1, the f u expect 😂
plus he obviously suck on controller and not used to mechs etc
PoE 2 is probably going to be a shock for some people, it is going to be harder than PoE 1.
@@AndThenShwarmaAfter While I agree it's only act 1, he did die quite a bit.
Though being on controller is something I always forget is a thing because allot of PC players don't normally play on them.
Melee is always going to be gimped
What if they reduced the effect of MF, make builds other than ranged more accessible for new players, I meet many new players all the time and they can’t make currency like the UA-camrs do so the end up last online 6 months ago on my friends list, it’s in their best interest to retain new players as much as long time enjoyers.
Not sure if this has been said/asked... but is POE2 still going to be free to play?
Think this is a full blown AAA 70$ at this point. And I wouldnt even hesitate to pay that... have over 3khrs in POE1.
so they still haven't fixed melee in Poe 2
Those enemies coming in and out of view at 1:08 on the right side of the screen look really disorienting.
i think the bosses need to hit just a lil bit harder
This because players has poe experience, look at Executioner at other videos, he can oneshot sorcerer
16:18 boss lost visual contact and de aggroed? Wtf.
basically, grim dawn and im all for it.
Ummmm... Melee.. Can They breathe? 😢
A year ago, I was excited about it, but now I don't care. They've overexposed the product.
Muito foda
path of elden ring 💀
narrative bosses 😪
Monk's seems to be pretty weak ngl
It seemed the exact opposite from what i noticed. The bell combo was insane when paired with barrage. And at the praetor boss you can see suddenly the ranger turns into zDPS with the monk dead. But who knows!
@@NorthGateNoob if you are paired with someone. I was talking about playing as solo.
@@mendes423 people that played it said its harder at the start but then gets stronger than other classes
@@mateussousa8002 Oh It scales really well then! Awesome!
@@mendes423 I kind of have to agree with this. I'm sure it gets better somewhat, but Witch and Ranger look overall the best, and then the Huntress. So far, at least.
idc about how the bosses are difficult or their mechanic all I care about is are they worth it, poe player seem to always forget the memo, we ain't beating the monsters for the sake of beating the monsters....
Well, they do have a permanent boost to your characters. So there is at least that much.
I'm just worried that, like PoE1, these are also going to be the map bosses, at the appropriate difficulty. Mapping is very likely to take much longer per map.
Locks like d4 and monk skill by d3 😂
I am so f**king hyped for this its not even funny anymore.
Looks boring but im glad they are making more games.
Turns the Majority of the Community away from POE 2. This will be such a epic fail after the first Month
Stop viewing it as another Path of Exile 1. You should look at it as a different game and also if you don't want your enemies to fight back then just go back to Path of Exile 1.
@@KazaiTV Talk to me after you spend Time and Money on it just to be disappointed again in a long chain of Disappointment s 🤣 . Enjoy the first Month and we will enjoy POE 1 together don't worry 👍
It's gonna be a great reset. I'd imagine poe1 was also slow like this at launch. But hey, zoomies gonna zoom I'm not gonna fault you for that.
Majority of players will move to PoE2 rofl
You are so delusional lol. Poe1 is gonna be so dead after release
God damn, i knew this game ain't going to be good, but this looks like complete trash. I sincerely hope endgame will be something else entirely.
Conclusion: POE 2 is just another Diablo Copycat.
"copycat". Path of Exile wouldn't exist without Diablo. If you want to call something a "copycat" then direct it towards Diablo3 and Diablo4 since those are by definition copycats since the team that created Diablo 1&2 left right after. Diablo 3&4 were created for profit instead of passion and it shows.
@@KazaiTV i can definitely see the passion of ggg trying to milk their playerbase from 2 games instead of 1 now. Just wait untill they start releasing exclusive mtx for poe 2 and not both.
Stupid take. PoE 1 is a literal copycat by definition... it was made specifically for D2 players who didn't like D3's departure from the originals. And it ended up doing a better job lol
@@mmhg2986pretty much stole my comment I wanted to say
@@georgeb1298 Even if they do - so what? People spend their money how they want if it brings them joy. Stop worrying about other people wallets :)
i dont like how is feel the coop:S
Blaming ur terrible skills on the controller lmao
