    I agree, they should make an optional off road gear set for the new suzuki carry. They can probably make it an off road package that includes the gears, knobby tires and taller springs

    I too have noticed the clear lack of kits, BUT also that alot of the new RTR models are not getting spare parts or upgrades released for them, as in the body and other accesories.
    They do have the option of the new gearbox with a 370, which should help things significantly.
    Altough it would be nice to have that as an option when buying the RTR, rather than having to buy it seperatedly afterward.
    Also you have the 2 speed gearbox, it is quite bulky and has to be fitted with custom brackets to have better ground clearance.

    I was considering to get the D14 for crawling and trailing videos because of the 4WD feature until I watched your video. Thanks for the insight, interesting why they chose to do so with the gearing. Im happy with my C74 though for lighy crawling and trailing but may still give this a try. Cheers mate 👊

    Im more of a speed oriented rc play but still having options at stock form would be great.
    The old c24 gearbox is actually versatile as it can go trail speed at stock and high speed when a gear was removed 😅

    I can understand the D series having a lot of speed since most like to drift them, but like my c74 was pretty much unusable on a trail until I completely changed out the motor and gearbox

    There are only few of us who love to build these stuff. Most are after RTR. That's why I think they stopped producing kits and to bring the cost down, they have to use cheap components. My favorite two WPL kits are B36 and C44 and sadly, both have been discontinued. Yet, it's a good thing that many upgrades are still available. Out of all motor/gearboxes, I prefer all metal single speed gearbox and have been using it in most of my WPL and MN trucks.

    I really didn't know about WPL until recently so I don't know if I am qualified to commit on this. I have 2 WPL's with 2 more on the way. All are RTRs and I know I have to upgrade them. Thinking back, I kinda wish I had gone with a SCX24 in the 1st place. It's seems to be a better crawler out of the box than a fully upgraded WPL, but I just wanted a cheap way in.

      @656hookemhorns you should try fms and there fcx24 range two speed gear box so really good slow speed for crawling and second speed is about walking pace surveys a good motors are good end you upgrade to get better performance not to just get it to ruin scx24 I don't have 1 but from what I heard as soon as you start upgrading you have to upgrade servo

    What bothers me is that my mn78 is not only faster but also heavier but with better torque and modulation than my c64-1. The stock c54 was completely useless, I replaced the motor with the 370 with the metal singlespeed gearbox the same day I received it.
    I also find it strange that they changed the gearbox with the 180 to the 260 for the new ones because the 180 from the c24 in off-white was much better and probably cheaper to produce.
    My mn78 is relatively recent, when I opened it it had a 370 inside instead of a 280, it seems like MN have been listening to the negative reviews of the launch. The MN82 does come with the 280, it is a little slower and has less torque than the current MN78.
    Maybe there is market pressure for these cars to be faster, maybe their main target audience is not adults who like to modify like us, but children.

    Ich denke Du hast mit Deinem Video den Nagel auf den Kopf getroffen.
    Die beiden Gründer wirkten in ihren frühen Interviews, als hätten sie eine Vision. Und ich teile Deinen Eindruck, sie hatten ein offenes Ohr für ihre Kunden und haben lieber drei Mal nachgebessert und beim nächsten Modell hat man immer einen großen Sprung nach vorne gesehen. Wenn ich da an Probleme mit der Qualitätskontrolle am Anfang denke...
    Und heute geht es auch da leider nur noch um Stückzahl. Ich habe mir den D14 auch bestellt und mir ist klar, das der einige Upgrades bekommen muss. Da hätte ich lieber einen Bausatz gehabt. Und am liebsten einen KM-Kit

    Have to agree , I have a couple of c24’s and a c34 , they are great but the c54 I modified to the older style gearbox as it could not perform off-road and the d64 is just too fast and useless off road . However the MN brand are going the other way the new MN82 is brilliant .

    kinda treated my c74 as more a cheaperish high detail hardbody an then started upgrading it with parts from other brands, like currently have losi mini LMT axles underneath cause their a slightly higher gear reduction and similar width to the MN D90 axles but I'd love to have a better gearbox but that allows for a full sized 380 in the nose of the c74 and possibly enough room for a 540 stubby

    Thank you for that video was thinking about getting one of their cars but now I know to stay away from them and stick with fms they sound like Traxxas putting insufficient electricals in their cars😢

      I love the wpl's. But I miss really new releases like the Jimny. I have a D12 and and D64. These "new" are only variations. When I saw them, I was s bit bored. I'm waiting for a new modell, which I can't wait to have. So the Jimny is my newest wpl. And I love it like my others B, D, C and E. For example I think an improved C74 new modell I couldn't resist. But these 😴

      Well said !!! FMS is great. They have the best RTR electronics on the market for the smaller scale.

      @R-EVLMNKY I can understand upgrading to get better performance but I can't understand buying something you need to upgrade to make half decent just to use normally but each to their own a🙂

    I think they should hire some actual rc enthusiasts for input. This direction is being made by corporate toy makers.

    Well..... don't forget that they now cost nearly TWICE what the average WPL was, when they first came out! :X
    That does NOT justify only 7 years of inflation!!!!

    WPL seem to have lost the plot a bit. It's all gone a bit toy grade, OK if you want to hurtle around the pavement but many of us want more. Where for example is a B16/B36 trailer kit to go with my Resv3 converted 6x6 trucks? I used to be a regular WPL buyer but not with their current releases.

    With the wpl get rid of stock motor and esc resiver stering servo. Put good stuff in and send it i one wpl c24 with brushless 2445 3600kv motor. And 2speed.

    WPL is not technically thought out, completely unreliable garbage. After modification, you get unreasonably expensive garbage!

    You don’t buy a WPL with the intent of keeping it stock, I’ve seen a few videos like this from reputable channels and for some reason no one ever mentions their ability once upgraded.

      @@005connect9 I know they are absolutely beast when upgrade but it more of a comparison between how good the older ones were stock. If you look on my channel there is loads of videos of modifying them.
