This is one of the classiest rigs that I have seen in a long time. It appears Paul is a man who knows and gets just how much he needs and nothing more .
I've been watching your show for about a year now and enjoy them very much. As an Australian it's good to see Australian products being used they are good. Keep up the good shows.
Great cars. I have fond memories of my first car, a 1979 land cruiser, in line 6 diesel. Stock was a 10 seater. Had great adventures with my friends in the 90's
Great video! Would love to hear a review of the replacement head unit. I’ve always worried about reliability with that setup, especially since you’re replacing factory hvac controls. Thanks
Have you found any meaningful reasons to put a custom rear bumper on? Maybe increase departure angle? Also, does your spare 33" fit underneath the rig without any modification?
Forgive me if this is a silly question but how did he get a practically new Cruiser in the United States? Thought you could only import them if they're over 25 years old.
SwissnessVd Oh really? I never knew, at least none of the dealerships I've been to have had them. Do you know if the 200 series are the only ones being sold? A 79 Series Double Cab Ute would be my dream rig.
SwissnessVd thanks for the heads up. I honestly just want a god damn Toyota diesel lol. It'll be some time before I can actually afford a project anyways, maybe by then there will be one old enough that I can import it.
Great video as always guys! One question, was the ARB twin compressor not fully installed? It still had the shipping plugs installed. Just wondering if there was a clearance issue with the hood, or if it really wasn't fully installed yet. Thanks! Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the South America series to drop!
weird thing one gets to see so often: why put a full size roof rack / platform on the cars, when it'll be fully covered by the RTT? makes no sense to me. go for 3 bars and spend the money u saved for ... BEER !?
Clearly, inexpensive load bars are no longer approved for "proper" overlanding. And of course, you can't show off your $300 dollar Alu-Boxes without a $1500 safari rack unless your $3,900 Eezi Awn tent is mounted but then it sounds as if you need a bigger rack so both the Alu-Boxes AND RTT are clearly displayed. Lol, don't get me wrong, Paul's 200 series is killer and well thought-out but lately, "overlanding" here in the States appears to be a contest for people to spend absolutely incredible amounts of money to camp in the bush for the sake of a bit of convenience (perceived or otherwise). I find it comical. Not too mention the weight of all that stuff, carried on the top of the vehicle directly affecting COG while exceeding payload in a lot of cases (not Paul's 200, I'm just picturing, for example, a 5th gen 4runner with bumpers, lift, winch, skids, sliders, rack, RTT, fridge, storage, recovery gear, etc.) Here's an example: - Eezi Awn Series 3 2200 RTT 4 person tent: 210lbs; dimensions 96" x 87": $3,710 - REI Camp Dome 4, 4 person tent: 8lbs; dimensions 100" x 86": $199 Going back to the built 4runner example, it appears that the better sleeping solution is 202 additional pounds, mounted on top of the roof, with the form factor of a giant brick, affecting an already overloaded, poor range, gasoline burning 4runner for an additional $3,500?! Then you have to off-load, store and maintain said $3,700, 210lb brick... I simply don't see the bit of convenience outweighing those negatives if any emphasis at all is placed on off-road dynamics when off camber, long and short term implications of an overloaded vehicle and perhaps most importantly, vehicle range.
That is some heavy cabinetry for that vehicle. There are a number of challenges with the LC200. 1) Really needs the GVM upgrade to carry the inevitable weight used for overland travel. 2) The Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) has problems. 3) The vehicle is a little overpriced - but a bloody good vehicle anyway. In Australia, this vehicle is a very popular vehicle for overland. Your vehicle setup is very similar to how we set them up over here. It’s ok, but I live in a town that has a lot of land cruisers, ( and I mean a lot!) this would be considered average at best where I live in Australia. But in saying that my 2019 VX is 3 weeks old and still stock so its better than mine🙃
Funny is I and the group I was with ran circles around a group of "landcruisers". I was in my landdominator 2015 f150 fx4 crew cab, along with 2 4runners and a taco.
In the end, you are driving a ford. This truck is not just a Toyota but a Toyota Land Cruiser. If you really think there are comparable then it shows you don't know jack about vehicles, especially overlanding.
@@wolfshield469 I stand by my statement. I'll put my f150 against a 200 series any day. We can compare how they are built, I'm pretty sure my f150 has a much stronger frame and suspension components.
@@1FiftyOverland You can stand all you want on your statement. No one is taking that from you, actually stand by it all the way, but only a fool builds a home on sand and stands tall till his foolishness proofs his arrogance.

One of the best builds component choice wise I’ve seen. Kudos.

Love everything you all do. Thanks for the great ideas and getting me motivated to start doing more adventures.
Awesome video. Paul is quite a salesmen! He could sell cowboy boots on the beach!!!
Love your content/can't get enough of it! Y'all inspired me to get out there with my Outback and start exploring!
Thank you!
Love Equipt, great video as always!

Thanks for the video guys. Nice setup!
Great video as always guy's.
I also caught Paul's rig in the new issue of Tread magazine.
I have spent quite a few paychecks with Paul @Equipt :)
Dream car and dream setup!!!
Simplicity functionality....perfect tourer
Now I want a series 200! I have a wife and 3 kids and need a big rig.
Lovely. Can someone share a link to Paul's 100 series build please? Also where can I buy that gas burner and draw setup?
that vignette though
whats the dual battery system on that thing and the nice battery monitor near the gear?
Have you found any meaningful reasons to put a custom rear bumper on? Maybe increase departure angle? Also, does your spare 33" fit underneath the rig without any modification?
I hope you have started editing for season 3 !!!!

Mo G. Yep, a 79 series turbo diesel V8 is my dream rig as well.

when's the 40 series coming on the show?
What year is it?
have a look at all 4 adventure for a 200 series
All of these videos are dark. Why the vignetting?
Scott Hanson directed by David Fincher
So refreshing to hear a seppo pronounce emu correctly
No roof top tent is aerodynamic or pleasing to the eye...it will always be a brick and look like one.
Has it touched dirt yet?
hiskoolfunf this guy sees more dirt than almost anyone we know.

Options and versatility. If the tent isn't needed, you have a full storage system on top.
if you take it off, yes.

JustonianInstitute well said, JI. My thoughts exactly, particularly when everyone harps on about “less is more”.
Does he not realize that you don't have to keep the cool box cold? We use our cool box for stuff that's supposed to be in a center console...

Drooling all over my ipad
I can get all those things....minus the Land Cruiser. 😥
You need to brighten up these videos and lose that annoying dark filter
I thought the kids had turned down the brightness on the iPad
clearly this man is single
