I do think Princess is an excellent cruise like - I think they have a really nice blend of the ‘fun side’ of cruising, but with the added luxury of the gorgeous atriums and great itineraries. I took Discovery Princess to Alaska, and found them to be absolutely excellent - their daily lecture series was just fantastic on there!
I totally agree! We were on the Discovery Princess in June 2022. We were sitting at the dock in Skagway when the famous rockslide occurred that took out part of the dock. We heard it and saw the aftermath from our balcony. My video of that cruise is still my most watched. We are on the Royal Princess this May, doing a land and sea for the first time. I'm excited!
Glad to hear someone else agree! So far, each Princess cruise that we have taken has been better than the previous one, a function of evolving ships and evolving cruisers. But our trip to Alaska in May will be a test for us as to whether this will continue to be our first choice in cruise lines.
My first-ever cruise was last year on Princess and I've already taken a second (Alaska) and have booked two more! I see no reason to try another line since I have been so satisfied-- for all the reasons you give. Comfortable vibe on the ship with pleasant and happy fellow passengers. Great itineraries with extended times in Port. Fine food and entertainment. Many quiet spots (I want nothing with noise and parties.) Excellent value for money. Whenever I compare with other seemingly attractive lines, Princess always looks obviously better for the money. I check out Celebrity and HAL, which look fine but the price is always higher. Beyond that, for anything seriously tempting, the prices are orders of magnitude higher.
Good choice! We have done more cruises (5) and more days (51) on Princess than on any other line, and we have scheduled the Panama Canal for next year. It is our go-to line. We like Holland for the size and design of ships, but of the 6 lines we have sailed Princess is our favorite.

We have done a 7 day round trip Seattle, a 7 day Vancouver to Anchorage, and this time we are doing a 10 day "land and sea." It is a 7 day cruise to Alaska followed by a 3 day inland stay that includes Denali. Alaska is one of the places where you could cruise again and again.
We've recently given Princess a second try after many cruises with Carnival (and one with Norwegian). Princess seems to hit our sweet spot. Good food, fewer kids, and more relaxed atmosphere. I sure hope the new ships don't become "theme parks". That is what we are trying to get away from as we get older.
We couldn't agree more. We have sailed on 6 cruise lines (RCL, Norwegian, MSC, Princess, Holland America, and Celebrity). Our favorites are Holland and Princess, and we go back and forth about which we like better. We have done more sailings on Princess and every one was good. We are definitely concerned that our travel window is closing, and have book 5 trips booked for the next 12 months (2 of them standby). Of these, 2 are on Princess, 2 on Holland, and we are going to try Cunard. By a year from now, I am pretty sure we will have a definitive favorite.
Ken, it's great seeing that you are still making videos. We hope to run into you and Ellen some time in the near future. We were thinking about going to Alaska some time in May of 2024. Not sure of your travel plans, but I think in one of your videos, I heard that you two were also traveling in May. I’m a huge Princess fan, I have been on 15 cruises with them. I have only been on one princess cruise since Covid and I thoroughly enjoyed the medallion and we took advantage of the plus package even though we aren’t big drinkers. It was nice not to have to worry about getting as many sodas as I wanted a drink, here, and there, and a coffee beverage whenever I wanted, and then not having a big bill at the end. Last October I took a Caribbean cruise with a friend of mine who lives in Houston and well I enjoyed it I missed princess for most things. I don’t have children so I don’t really want to be surrounded by them on vacation and also it was relatively hard to find a quiet place on the ship other than the suite Lounge or the suite area up on deck. Normally, I don’t book suites but my friend found us an amazing deal. Now it’s my turn to show her princess and we have a cruise booked for next February out of Galveston. Fingers crossed she loves it!
I hope it goes well! This year will be the third time that we have introduced another couple to cruising, each time on Princess. The first two were so excited that they booked subsequent cruises on their own. This couple says this will be their one and only cruise ever. I'm betting it won't be...
