Love it that you are testing the limits on the 42-day ... guess we are too. Great video. Sounds like a great anniversary gift.

Go to the second standby video and check out the comment from 4 days ago regarding a passenger who successfully booked a standby (although he called it wait list). Very valuable information. Didn't get notification until 23 hours before, assigned a balcony, couldn't print his boarding pass, and check out his details regarding pre-booking discounts.
Could be all very helpful to us! Hope to see you in November!

How exciting! So many wonderful adventures planned this year! Looking forward to all of your videos coming. Safe travels and Bon Voyage!
If money were no object and my kids were grown and on their own, I would be happy with a cruise every other month. ☺️

It will be an incredible adventure!! I'd like to take multiple cruises, one after another, leaving from the same port to help with airfare costs. Will be looking forward to your cruises.

Yes, we work hard to minimize the travel cost, and it would be a good idea to do multiple cruises with one airfare expense. I plan to do lots of filming on our upcoming Alaska adventure.

I think one cruise per month is a good cadence :)!

I agree! These 5 trips total 80 days at sea, which is an average of about 6.5 days a month. We just bunched them up a bit!

I have done the QM 2 on a transatlantic. I LOVED it.

Looks like a good plan. And that 35k would only get you and the wife around 2 typical cruises on Regent or Crystal. I think Hal and Princess are the way to go. We also like the bang for the buck with them. We just did 5 nights on Nieuw Amsterdam, San Diego to Vancouver b/c we were in the SD vicinity. Overall good--but it was the final 5 nights of a Panama Canal cruise, and we did not get to see the stage productions. The Princess Alaska cruise/tour will be awesome.

From our very first cruise, we have consistently asked people what was their favorite cruise. The most common answers are Alaska and Panama. We are eagerly anticipating every cruise. And I agree on the value. Since I am pleased with quality of HAL and Princess, why sail on the luxury brands and only be able to afford half as much?
Really looking forward to Alaska. We leave in 2 weeks. Will post several videos on the trip soon after.

Have you left for the final cruise yet?

    • @mytravelwindow3061

Almost. Our final cruise is a standby that we don't expect to get. It leaves in 10 days. We should know 2 days before. If we don't get on, we plan to book a different last minute cruise from Florida. We will make a video of exactly what happens!

We received notice on Wed (3 days before sailing) that there was no room available. We had to weigh the cost of the plane fare, hotel, etc., knowing it was still unlikely we could board. So we chose to cancel at that point. I am putting together a video on the topic.
