Oregon is literally (to me) one of the biggest what if teams in college football around that time. It's sad to see how oregon is now. But great job with the vid Flemlo! Keep up the grind.
Darron was a lot of fun. I'm a life long duck fan who enjoyed watching him play, and on several occasions had the chance to meet him. He was a kind man, who was generous with his time, willing to stand outside a Portland pizza joint and throw a football with myself and other teenage duck fans back in his Portland Arena League days. Great guy, wish him the best.
Buga Nation Jordan Jefferson was garbage under the Les Miles Offense--which consisted of just running along with Nickel & Dime passing. Jefferson had 2 years to get it together with LSU as the starting QB,but he was inconsistent. In the Wisconsin game back in 2016, he showed signs of improvement but when crunch time he choked & Les Miles went back to the running game for good that season
Austin Zilk it's believed that he suffers from CTE. I got to know Cliff around middle school/high school while competing with and against him in other sports before he fully pursued football. I honestly think that he was so close to becoming a future pro bowl CB/punt returner. Everyone knows him by that mugshot, but his story should be told!
The fact that he didn’t even get brought in for a teams OTA’s or training camp after 2 very successful seasons on a great team tells me that coming back for another year probably wouldn’t have changed much about his draft stock. They saw him as a unpolished quarterback back from a system that hasn’t translated to the next level while also not having an NFL caliber arm or break away athletic ability. He was completely average in talent but he was able to find success in Chip Kelly’s offense while being surrounded by elite college running back and receiver talent. Sometimes a good college football player will only ever be a good college football player.
Antbeast23 by D1 standards he was average talent wise but he had great production because he bought in to chip Kelly’s system and was surrounded by great talent and they had some success. He didn’t have any abilities that made him standout as an NFL prospect.
@Henry White- exactly!! I hate to say it but i agree with you 100% !! To not even invite him to a camp??? I really dont think a good or mediocore season would have made any difference!! & again what if he would of got injured?? I dont blame him for coming out early and trying to get paid!!!?? But again i just can't understand why no one took a chance??????🤔🤔
I remember when he played in the Boise State game in 2008, he was slinging that rock everywhere! even tho we lost in overtime, I knew Darron was going to be apart of something special, Jermiah Masoli would go on to start the 2009 season finishing 10-3 and a Rose Bowl loss to Terrell Pryor and Ohio State. Then 2010... the rest is history, as a duck fan I was very humble to see an undefeated season, even tho we had that horrible loss to Auburn in the natty, I still look at that season as one to remember...
I have a friend who is a major Oregon booster and really has his finger on the pulse of the players. He told me that Darron was concerned about losing the starting job to Mariota his senior season and thought he was better off leaving at a high point, but that might be total garbage. Mariota was immediately good, so it wouldn't surprise me.
Flemlo, you are so interesting in the way you present all this and I’m a person that always wonders what happens to former “stars” that seem to disappear You put such an unbiased look on things it is really interesting Won’t surprise me to see you on the actual TV one day doing some analysis or an E:60 episode Good work
King Blake the Greatest wasn't all that? He had 3 losses in 2 years starting, averaging 3300 yards and 35 TDs per year. 2010 vs teams that finished ranked #4 Stanford 69% 238 yards 3 TDs 2 ints 117 rush yards 1 TD W #1 Auburn 67.5% 363 yards 2 TD 2 ints L 2011 vs teams that finished ranked #2 LSU 57.5% 240 yards 1 TD 1 int L #7 Stanford 64.7% 155 yards 3 TDs W #8 USC 65.7% 265 yards 1 TD L #10 Wisconsin 74% 268 yards 3 TDs 1 int W 2 of his losses were by a total of 6 points. He won a Rose Bowl and was seconds away from winning a national championship. That guy was the farthest away from a game manager.
Dude my friend, I just got to tell you man you got a great-great channel here. I've been watching you for awhile but just sitting here watching how in-depth and detailed this video is and how much time and effort you must put into this I just got to tip my hat to you my friend. Great great great great job my friend. Sincerely, Johnny Roma from the Bronx New York
MLM 2 he got into legal trouble while at Oregon, believe he was charged for stealing stuff on campus. Got kicked from Oregon, played at ole miss 2 seasons later after his sit out/transfer season
Thanks a lot for doing this. That championship game is what put Oregon on my radar and then when I watched more of them with Mariota I always wondered where he went. One of the weird draft decisions ever, as he could have been really good if he stayed.
Darron Thomas was fantastic!! Loved this guy, and he is second only to Marcus in my book. (I'm a long time duck fan and an Oregon Alumni) Darron was the perfect trigger man for Chip Kelly, he ran that offense like it was made for him. Yes, his move to the NFL was not smart... but he knew that Marcus Mariota was gonna be the starter next year, he knew his time was short. But this guy was awesome at Oregon. Other than a Heisman Trophy, he accomplished as much as Marcus.
"Doing not the right thing" 😂 bruh I sat here rn felt like that one stuck meme I hit my blunt and heard you say that 😂. Hella funny love your channel brotha.
He tried to go to the league after his junior year because his senior year chip basically told him he would have to beat out incoming freshman Marcus Mariota, rumor from a lot of people I know that have some inside info. Darren thought he wouldn't out play mariota. That's the story. #goducks
63legendary a lot of people don't believe that, but it makes sense honestly. In Darrens head his draft stock was a very late draft pick after his junior year, he probably thought "well shit if I lose my starting job I won't even be qualified for the draft" and decided to not compete,I think he could have won, who knows if that goes down, mariota doesn't start till his 2nd year so he might have stayed at Oregon 4 years and finished his senior year at Oregon
He disappeared when he went to the Browns. But he was still better than the other Browns QBs, got stuck behind the young guy and vet (Delhomme and Colt McCoy)
Man keep this channel going you are the mdj mike korzemba of football I try to watch one vid every morning you do some great research keep it up get to 1,000,000 live that dream man
Loved watching Darren Thomas play. In the championship against Auburn he single handedly kept us in the game with his arm because Auburn’s defense shut our running game down
Great content. Just found your channel tonight with the video about my East Mississippi boys. Buddy was my o-line coach in juco so I try to keep up with them. Anyway, well researched and interesting videos. Keep it up.
So hey, I'm late to the game on this video. But as an Oregon fan who lives in the Eugene area and goes to a lot of games, I'm going to offer one suggestion as to why he left early. Marcus Mariota (arguably the greatest Ducks quarterback ever) was on the roster at that point, he redshirted that 2011-2012 season. The coaches were all VERY high on him. Darron probably looked at that situation and was like, "Well, there's no guarantee I'll even start next year" and figured that might be his best shot. I actually think that was a good call because Mariota did so good his redshirt Freshman season, I think there was a good chance that in camp they would have given him the nod. And where would Darron's draft stock have been then? He went undrafted off a Rose Bowl win. I can't imagine he would have had s better shot if he were to lose the job to Mariota.
do a video on my boy knowshon Moreno middle town south I was the starting MLB for ocean twp hs he played for the Broncos he even played with a acl tare for like 2 games in the NFL so he wudnt loose his job
MR. GOLIVE knowshon was the man for three years in high school. He was 200lbs as a sophmore. All muscle. I played in small north new jersey towns so i never played south jersey teams. They played Newark teams tho. I believe they played Shabazz High School because they both were group 3 schools. Plainfield and Piscataway were good too in the early to mid 2000's.
Hey flem, can u do something a little different and react to the Steelers bengals game, cuz I’m a big Steelers fan and would like to see what a Cincinnati fan has to say, cuz personally I couldn’t have been more happy to see burfict get steamrolled like that I think he 100% deserved it and u are a very respectable guy in my opinion I would like to see what u thought about the game, the hits, and what u think about burfict cuz I think he’s the dirtiest player of all time
Christian Oberhausen please tell me someone else, someone that has twisted peoples ankles after they are down, that have purposely dove at peoples knees for he soul purpose to hurt them like last year, a player that has gotten 8 unsportsmanlike penalty’s in one year, a person that celebrates after they have hurt someone like he did to leveon Bell, a player that knees a qb after the play TWICE in the ribs, a player that purposely hits people in the head to hurt them then afterwards they say the player faked the injury even tho he was knocked out, a player that Ray Lewis, Shannon sharpe, skip bayless etc even say he should not be allowed to play anymore. I’m not taking about 60’s and 70’s and 80’s or even 90’s players before there were rules against it when t was common to hit a dude after the play, but burfict has no reason to do this he has done it ever since college and there doesn’t seem to be an end
And if u are talking about players during the 60’s-90’s still tell me I would like to know cuz I doubt they have twisted peoples ankles while they r on the ground
You Is BUTT Stewart and Blount have had great seasons, Chung and Ward are great safeties. Mariota has been a very solid and Ngata has been to the pro bowl a lot
But you gotta think about it like this:He had did pretty much everything he could at Oregon except win a championship or Heisman and also if he stays at Oregon he could get in more trouble
Who else loved playing with the Ducks in NCAA 11 with Darron Thomas, LaMichael James, and Kenjon Barner?
And DeAnthony Thomas
NCAA 13 Oregon is crazy
Here
Oregon is literally (to me) one of the biggest what if teams in college football around that time. It's sad to see how oregon is now. But great job with the vid Flemlo! Keep up the grind.
Yeah and now Chip Kelly is going to UCLA. That must really suck for Oregon fans.
Considering we just lost our HC and our DC.
I bet they wish Taggart left earlier. They could had Kelly or Frost this offseason😂😂😂
Steven Asante facts
Clarks Hat yeah we looking bad now, luckily Oregon/nike isn't scared to spend big money on coaches

We smoked it all had my ass rolling
Nope it had Darron rolling 😂😂😂😂
Same!!!😂😂😂
I’ll say this: If Jordan Jefferson from LSU got a shot with the Bucs, Darren Thomas 100% should’ve gotten at least a look
Buga Nation
Jordan Jefferson was garbage under the Les Miles Offense--which consisted of just running along with Nickel & Dime passing. Jefferson had 2 years to get it together with LSU as the starting QB,but he was inconsistent. In the Wisconsin game back in 2016, he showed signs of improvement but when crunch time he choked & Les Miles went back to the running game for good that season
Craig Smith II Jordan Jefferson hasn’t played for LSU since 2011
Angry Eagles Fan
Damn for real? I'm thinking about the other QB that Les Miles had
Craig Smith II you’re thinking of Brandon Harris. He plays QB for North Carolina now but really isn’t that great. Idk if he starts at UNC or not.
Buga Nation jordan jefferson suckeddddd tooo

I really like your themes Flemlo. We can all take a lot from them. Be in the driver’s seat!
