A friend was a HUGE Phil Collins/Genesis fan...turns out he became a big wig in Hollywood and worked with Phil. Said you usually do not want to meet your heroes...except for Phil Collins! He was and is the real deal...BEST personality he worked with to this day! Phil even gave his young son a drum kit!
That's the true test of parental love especially if you have a working class home and cramped for space. Of course for Phil, space is not a problem. I understand Phil's mental hardship as it relates to hi s medical issues. He's has such a huge fan base and he's always been a performance monster, I said MONSTER! It's a difficult row to hoe, all he really wants to be is the unbeatable, uncompromising force he's always been in the past. Fully agree. I used to play bass. Those who don't recognise bass as an essential instrument try listening music for long time where you have remove the bass from the song...that'll be a terrible feeling even after a few minutes...
What I love about your channel, and you, Lee, is your sincere and total positivity. With nothing but good to say about the myriad musicians you’ve played with over the decades, have you just forgotten the inevitable a-holes, egotists and prima donnas, successfully avoided them, or just chose to ignore them? Whichever, it’s fun to listen to you reminisce about the wonderful, talented musicians and others you’ve encountered throughout your career. It’s a soothing antidote to the pervasive negativity that has regrettably become the norm these days. For me, watching old videos of live performances and seeing you standing back there, quietly doing your thing without any “hey look at me” fanfare, is both comforting and inspiring. You let your talent speak for itself. Thanks for just being you and sharing yourself with us.
The guitar solo at the conclusion of this song was immense. The pedal was just right, the chord progressions were to become immemorable and the picking was to kill for. One of my favorite tunes.
Congratulations, fantastic, I really enjoy seeing you playing very professionally, wonderful, it's very easy! spectacular. This song is still a great show. This gift is wonderful!
