    Helps me appreciate the benefits of my naturally aspirated ski.

    Vids like this are the reason i just bought a NA jet boat, the cost of maintaining ,and or catastrophic failure isn't worth the extra 10 MPH

      Same conclusion I came to.

      If you don’t need the extra power, you can definitely save in both maintenance costs, purchase cost and headaches by getting a naturally-aspirated ski. Safe riding.

    Love these vids repairing seadoo parts. One question. When you machined the oil pump housing ( 4:12 ) you are removing some scored material, then the rotor will fit deeper on the oil pump housing, it is correct? It will produce any problems ? The oil cover will fit on the same place but the rotor will have more tolerance between the cover and the internal wall. I never machined an oil pump and if it can be done i will save a lot of money. Thank you again.

      Talking to the machine shop they remove the minimal amount of material from the bottom of the rotor housing just enough to get back to a smooth surface the same amount of material is then removed from the face where the rotor cover mounts if .004" is taken out of the housing the same .004" is taken off the cover mounting face so the tolerances are kept the same.

    I own a Seadoo sportster 215 and my mechanic noticed a high frequency sound that was not normal. It turned out that flywheel teeth went through the lower end. Teeth were found in both oil pump housings. $4000 later I had a rebuilt motor. 😕

      Crikey, that’s a bummer. A bit unusual, too. Had anyone modified your machine?

      @@3ftDeepChannel Not that I am aware of, Unusual for a flywheel to lose teeth. Felt better knowing the engine was fresh and supercharger rebuilt. Took the time for a proper break in, longest 12hours in the boat. Lol

    I get a knock sensor code, warning horn and limp mode confirmed by scan tool after new valves installed.All new gaskets ,head bolts ,torqued to spec..What’s the chance of being a tooth off on timing using correct assembling procedures ? I should test wire that knock sensor plugs into. I can put in drive and it idles great for a long time, like 5 mph till I increase rpms.

    Ok, here’s one for you. I’ve been dealing with my ‘06 RXP for years now. Super charger failure. Complete engine rebuild. Runs like a champ now but throws oil pressure code while operating and goes into limp mode. New oil pressure sensor. No change. Checked pressure with manual gauge and it won’t build above 10psi oil pressure. My ‘08 RXT-X gets up to 85psi at start up. Both front and rear oil pumps have been replaced with new housings. Is there an oil pressure regulator that I could have messed up during the rebuild? Or simply my oil passages so worn from the super charger failure that I need a whole new engine?

    What is the symptoms of a oil pressure switch?
    So when I'm at TopSpeed, out of nowhere, my oil light comes on and turns off within seconds when I looked at the screen, it will say oil pressure, but then that will disappear as fast as the light came on not sure why nothing else happens

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому

      You can try replacing the switch, although normally that isn’t the issue. It is a cheap fix, though. If that doesn’t do it then you may have a slowly failing oil pump or two. Good luck.

      Swap it out and keep a spare on hand. Sometimes they fail without notice.
      Good video here on how easy it is:

    I own a 07 RXT , 3 weeks ago riding at 45-50 mph my machine just quit running , it's in the shop now , I'm wondering what the machine did when the supercharger went out ? Mine just shut off .

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому

      Hello Johnny, Hopefully it’s not your supercharger, as the pieces that are released from it can do serious (expensive) damage to your engine. Was the supercharger ever rebuilt?

      @@3ftDeepChannel I bought the machine 2 years ago . The dealership said they rebuilt it at that time . About 100 hours ago , I'm kind of a long hard rider , long rides , when I took it in the shop 2 weeks ago , they pulled plugs, turned over the motor , they said it sounded ok , pull the oil filter and showed it to me , it was clean . There was a grey oily silt around the supercharger, they were kind of thinking that was it , I'm in good standing with my mechanic at the shop , but haven't heard from them yet . Hopefully this week , Thank you for responding , I'm a subscriber to your channel , thanks --johnny with the RXT , Austin Texas 🇨🇱👍🏼

    This is why I like my 155 but still dream of the 230's and 300's.

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому

      Just avoid any 2007 and older machines with superchargers. You can still have issues with the other superchargers (except the 300s??) if you don’t rebuild the superchargers when recommended.

      @@3ftDeepChannel with the ACE300s they say they are not serviceable now. I have a boat and now a jet ski, total of 3 ACE 300 engines in them. Catch cans on all 3, thinking about blow off valves for then too. How long would you run these new engines before worrying about supercharger replacement? I don't race any of them, the boat is driven a lot less aggressively then the ski.

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  Рік тому

      That’s a great question. We’re keeping an eye on the forums to hear what’s happening to others, but so far ours have been working well. So, at this point we don’t have a suggestion for supercharger replacement. We expect they’ll last >10 years. The catch cans are a great idea, but we found that not overfilling the oil is even more important to keep oil out of the air system. Good luck.

      @@3ftDeepChannel Thanks for the reply, I'm also keeping an eye on any forums that discuss the Rotax Ace 300. As for not overfilling with oil I found it interesting and frustrating that my boat engines both have dipsticks that are very hard to read, slightly different than the dipstick in my jet ski even though they're exactly the same engine.

    Hey whens the last time you worked on a 10-12 model year ski with the ride plate mounted pump???
    Im looking for a video on the pump/ride plate alignment procedure.
    I can find NO posts about it anywhere, just shop manual literature which is a bit sparse

      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому

      That was a while ago and unfortunately we don’t have a Service Manual for a machine with that configuration. Good luck.

    because the sea doo supercharger releases a lot of white smoke from the exhaust?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  5 місяців тому

      Not sure what your comment is the answer to, but white smoke from the exhaust is not normally the symptom of a failed supercharger. A bad noise and terrible engine noise/seized engine are usually the signs.

    Is it normal to see some shiny flakes in the oil filter canister when changing oil. I have a 2016 rxpx 300

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому

      If it’s the first time the oil has been changed then you may see some very small flakes. It’s not “normal” though to see them when regularly changing the oil, as the debris that normally comes off the engine is very fine and not normally easily visible.

    • @godfatherstilllives5327
      @godfatherstilllives5327 2 роки тому

      The flakes are so fine that if you are not looking and kinda dissecting it you would not notice them at all.

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому

      if you have no other symptoms, I wouldn’t worry about it at this point.

    How do you break in these engines after you rebuild them? What do you recommend to the customers?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  2 роки тому +1

      It depends what we’ve done to them, but if the cylinders are honed we suggest that they take it easy on it for the first 5 hours. We’re not mechanics, though, so we don’t consider them “customers”. Thanks for your comment.
