  • Highlights from Browns win vs Cornell in Game 2 of their 3 game series.
The Bears started things quickly picking up two runs in the first inning on a double by Brianna Rodriguez that scored Cameron Zytkewicz Ray and Laurel Moody.
Both offenses were held in check until the sixth inning with Rodriguez doubled again to left, this time scoring Jasmine Hsiao and putting the Bears up 3-0. Rodriguez came in two batters later on a sacrifice fly by Moe Kastens.
Starter Macy Borowski held the Cornell offense in check in the first five innings, stranding runners in the third and fifth innings but the Big Red broke through with a three-run home run with one out in the bottom of the sixth. Borowski got out of the inning with back-to-back strikeouts, keeping the Brown lead at one.
For the game, Borowski finished with nine strikeouts. The highest total for the freshman since her first start of the season.
After a walk to start the bottom of the seventh, Alexis Guevara came in to pitch or the Bears. Cornell twice had runners on first and second but Guevara got an out both times and preserved the win for Brown.
