That Umps strike zone is pretty big. Some of those pitches called strike were way outside the strike zone. That lefty White had a nasty curveball and his fastball has great speed and looks like it has some movement to it as well. He will be a great pitcher at any level.
Andover was my school's rival when I went to Exeter in NH. I played hockey though. I do watch baseball, and now that I know of this kid, I'm gonna follow his journey. Thanks for the vid
We played High School Fields anywhere from 370 to 405.. this is a small field i agree... but what's embarrassing is they can't even let the kids play on dirt anymore everything is artificial smh... get some staff that knows how to take care of field turf and a few reel mowers and let these kids experience playing on real grass and dirt like we did. Also what's with the soccer goal in left-center.. it appears to be inside the fence although I hope it's not
@@roots4x its also in roxbury mass, this game was played in the beginning of april, they are lucky if the snow is gone by now let alone grass on the field, artificial turf lets them play a longer season
Cool video. The dimensions are extremely below average. Great looking field and awesome back drop. Looks like an Ivy league game. Makes me want to visit Boston lol.
It's all about consistency...like Tim Lincecum picking up the dollar off the ground after each pitch lol 😆 my favorite pitcher to watch good luck young man
Hopefully someone let's him know he is tipping his pitches. His leg kick with the fastball is consistently high and hips stay closed while the height of his knee varies when throwing the curve it appears almost every time. Same thing with the amount of internal rotation with the front hip.
those Andover uni's are CRISPY. the creme with the forest green (maybe navy?) and the stirrups. in a place like Boston? these honestly might be some of the classiest uni's i've seen in a good while. *chefs kiss*
Haha its not the worst but it certainly is not great! These kids are pretty good. Forgot to mention the full soccer goal in left field and 321ft left center Gap.. oh and the best part you'll never have to clean your uniform because there's not a single damn blade of real grass or dirt on that field... I swear to you it looks like those are Throwdown bases, they literally slid them back into place.... this would never happen where I am in the southeast although we do have some Fields with artificial turf and *Real Dirt* mounds & infields...
The reason why he didn’t pitch in the bottom of the 5th was that, his pitch count was extremely high. A lot of 3-2 batters, I see control issues in his delivery. Bottom of the 4th he was running out of gas. Big bad wolf huffing and puffing. 😊
For sure. The catcher's reaction was about all you needed to see. He was thinking ball when he turned around to pick it up. Only hustled when the ump called third strike.
I don’t know how these kids knew to run on third strike calls that the catcher didn’t catch? Some seemed pretty far off but they were taking off immediately
271’ down left field?!!! And only 343 down center? Holy shit that’s a tiny field!!! Playing here would’ve definitely helped adding some home runs to my high school ball playing seasons. This is a great field for 14U, 13U, 12U but varsity high school baseball? Definitely too small.
I remember when I played in 17U Junior Olympics about 15 years ago there was this 15 year old from North Carolina consistently throwing 95 mph. He hit 96 a couple times. Never got to face him. I was 15 at the time as well. We came in 2nd Place. Lost to Arizona in the Championship Game. I played the bench most of the tournament. I unfortunately played the same position as the coach’s son smh he hit .113 in the tournament and I only got one at bat the whole tournament. I was pissed. I know I was a better player than him 100% but hey life isn’t fair like that sometimes 🤷♂️ Either way there is so much great talent. Maybe not MLB talent but 100% D1 college talent all over the place. All things considered It was still a great experience for sure
Kid is so smooth and uses his whole body to throw, rather than a violent three quarters whip that so many young hard throwers today do, like the righty that relieved him. He looks like he could have a very long MLB shelf life if he keeps working and gets there.
U should do a video on Loomis Chaffee high school. They’re ranked like top 30 nationally and #1 in the New England region ahead of Phillips Andover per baseball America. They also have studs like Gabriel tirado and chandler coe.
Looks to be very talented and he had nice stuff, good velocity and nice curve ball. I am sure the major league scouts know him well. Only crit is him holding a runner at first. That will come over time and for the filed having the batting cage and soccer goal on the field of play is very dangerous for the left fielder and center fielder. They home team should have a gate in the outflied to put it out of play during the game.
Where I played in HS our field was 315 in left 365 in the alleys 407 in center and 335 in right. This field couldn't hold me. I either struck out or HR. Go for the fence or nothing at all was my saying. Coach didn't dig it but I was the ace so I got away with it. Got ejected for giving the opposing pitcher the Jeffrey Leonard " ONE FLAP DOWN" as I jogged the bases after a400 ft. HR . Bet most kids don't even know what that is
in 7:10 the SS made an good play but tf is the 2nd basemen thinking as a SS myself i hate when a 2nd gets in front when the SS clearly has an easier play
Stupendous mechanics...throws with such ease, he may have another 7-8 mph in his fastball. Does not appear in any way to be risking his longevity by doing like a lot of throwers in HS in maxing out the strain they place on their shoulder, elbow, and forearm.
He obviously has a great arm. Have you ever heard of the "inverted W"? I think there's quite a bit of evidence that his mechanics can cause arm problems...like Kerry Wood and Mark Prior among many others. I wish this kid the best of health but I'd worry about his mechanics.
The defense is horrible (like 20 errors) and the pitchers on both sides can't hold a runner for chit. That pitcher is legit though - Is it 343 to center field?
finally a video for a kid that deserves recognition and is proven. Instead of a 12 yr old that happened to go thru puberty way way early.

Cool slow mo, after further review the call on the field stands but if you slow it down he is safe
The catcher wouldn’t stop missing the ball.
This did not look like your average high school game. Extremely well coached and played - even the catcher played well for most of the game.

What kind of Walmart bases are they using, sliding across the field
343 in center right center…. My high school field was 385 and my college field was 400… would have loved this lol
