I was taught your method by the previous owner of my van. I save this video for use year after year. I also remove the fuse to my water pump..just to avoid accidentally turning it on when the system is dry, and disconnect the hot water heater from power…same reason.
You guys are amazing. I’m learning so much. If y’all ever travel to Houston, TX, we’ll show y’all some Texas Southern hospitality. We have great BBQ and TexMex
Bosch does not recommend filling your water tank with RV Antifreeze (just potable water). Any chances of the anti-freeze damaging the water heater anode? I know this video is a couple of years old - so it would be great to hear of any long-term effects?
We haven’t had any issues with the antifreeze. We have, however, had one ruined from freezing. I’ll take my chances with the antifreeze, considering the alternative.
Thank you for this very helpful video. You suggest removing the undersink water filter. How do you then run the antifreeze solution through the faucet? How does it not spill out of the filter connections?
Is this anti freeze stuff not kinda dangerous for your health? Even if you drain this out later, as you said would this not also stay behind in the small gaps etc.?
@@thrivans How long does it have to sit before you need to winterise it? I live in a cold place and plan on going on weekend trips once i build my van.
Just curious as to what benefits this method has over just pouring the anti-freeze directly into the fresh water tank and then running all the faucets.

You’ve got a deal.
Thanks! This is super helpful. Did you say you made the little connector hose yourself or is that something I can find?

Thanks this was very helpful. Once you complete your process, do you turn off your pump and turn on water valves to prevent pressure?
Yes.

The filter we use has a bypass when the filter is removed. amzn.to/477K8kO

It’s made for RVs, and is safe.
Do you winterise it if you are traveling during the winter?
No. Only if it’s sitting.

You can definitely do it that way. It’s easier to flush the antifreeze out of the system if it’s only in the lines.
