Amen brother. I've been playing COD for less than 3 years and it took me a long time to realize that not everybody was trying to win the match. It finally dawned on me in a game of HP when I called out my team for not helping me get on the point and one player responded "Dude, no one is getting on the point. We're just trying to level up our guns." I responded with "you can do both at the same time." And I got back "I know. We just don't want to." I literally could not believe my ears. Who in the world can engage in a contest where there is a winner and a loser and not have a preference to be on the winning side? You can be in a hotly contested match coming right down to the wire and yet it would appear that there is nothing that will trigger some people's competitive spirit to help complete the objective to help the team win. I think that people's obsession with K/D ratio is another barrier to the enjoyment of this game. People get bored because they play every game the same way...maximize kills...optimize K/D. Doesn't matter what game mode they're playing every match the same way. And then they blame the lack of variety in games on SBMM. The sooner we forget about K/D, focus on W/L and let the camo challenges happen naturally instead of making it a race to mastery the more fun we're gonna have. In BO6 my K/D sucks, my W/L is 1.6, I know that the headshots will come naturally and I am enjoying the hell outta the game. Play the objective folks; SBMM will cease to be an issue for you and you'll have more fun.
Yeah the KD campers can be annoying. Can’t lie sometimes I can start worrying about KD but after being 3 prestige I am tired of playing this way, it’s boring and makes my games WAY sweatier which leads to KD staying pretty constant at 1.3KD. Idk why I even cared this long about KD but I’m over it for sure. The camo grind also started getting me burnt out and frustrated.
I’m with you! I’m in it to grind and win and give my best effort. Camos and prestige come, but the game is much better when those things aren’t your sole focus.
I've been grinding Zombies for the camo and I can careless for doing well in Multiplayer. TMAL is a great example of doing well but, not caring for a loss. Just having fun is my goal. Testing new guns and not staggering on the same three guns is what I have fun with.
He's definitely one of my favorites along with Hummus Thunder and Xclusive Ace when I want to watch chill CoD content and funny reactions from raging opps ("You're mad!" "Struck a nerve, did I?")
I played a match where a guy had a gold XM4 on the opposite team. The first day of release. But then, my team beat him, with him scoring middle of the team, and trash talking our guy who got the play of the game. It honestly made me laugh at him so hard

I've been playing CoD on console for about 20 years, and the only guns i put camos on are the pistols. I respect a gold/diamond pistol... that takes some familiarity with the weapon. On the other hand, gold on a rifle is not much of a flex, especially in BO6. if you struggle to get 100 head shots with a ranged weapon, then you might need some practice. Those dopes that trash talk other players are tedious AF. I always mute the lobby in general multiplayer. Fuck those dudes @austinhawkins3307
I'm half way through the Diamond to Darkspine grind and I can't do it anymore lol the 100 head shot in hardcore grind is just pure brain rot, loving BO6 when i'm in core and acutely playing the obj.
@zolod.uchiha5102 I recommend trying prestige at least once as the legacy rewards are pretty cool, however don't burn yourself out on it. Not having access to essential perks in MP like tac mask or ghost can affect your enjoyment of the game for sure.
I felt this entirely after reaching prestige 3, which is indisputably the best-looking rank emblem for this game. Watching creators get both Multiplayer, Zombies, and still have any energy to tackle the Warzone camo grind is insanity to me. I hit my mental limit whilst trying to get a bounce kill with a smoke grenade during peak hours in hardcore. I'm taking challenges in this game as bite-sized pieces from here on out for my mental health's sake.
Personally I think Prestige 8 and Mastery looks coolest, but I agree with what you’re saying. I got snipers diamond in a day (I mainly quickscope) and then I went to SMGs and those headshots took days for me. To the point that now doing any other weapon feels so tedious and annoying
@apollodivine To be fair, headshots in BO6 Multiplayer are the hardest in the series yet as the multipliers are garbage for most automatics even with the CHF barrel. Not to mention omni movement making targets even harder to track. I don't blame anyone for struggling or giving up on the camo grind this year. I'm only doing zombies along with just marksman rifles and pistols in Multiplayer.
I think your like the spiderman of cod UA-camrs bro, super down to earth dude that grinds and plays like the rest of us while having a part time job, but your alot more insightful and experienced than the algorithm lets on. This is one of the reasons why i love SnD. it’s one of the very few game modes in the history of CoD that requires some strategy and teamwork. camo challenges are very slow to progress on SnD so you know everyone playing that game mode is in it for the win.
I mean, this game sort of attracts sweaty, competitive young adults who think winning is the only thing that matters. I don't think there is going to be much thinking outside of that. This game doesn't necessarily cause someone to ponder and be thoughtful through gameplay.
I never was a fan of grinding for camos or visual stuff that you ultimately won't focus on, but the 1 thing I consistently LOVED grinding was the Titanfall 2 Pilot executions - each of them were very different and each of the ones you could unlock via tasks weren't a huge difficulty and often were a reward by playing the class/pilot you chose. I found great satisfaction in setting the execution to random and doing an execution on another player and seeing the one I worked hard for coming up. I never felt like I had to sacrifice the game or objective to be able to get these rewards, I could just slightly adjust my playstyle to get the rewards
You make a great point because a lot of players are there to just grind, whether it’s camos, xp, challenges or just to win. (I’ve always been more on the win/kd ratio but understand the other side now too) Also nice touch with the Halo background music!
I think accepting your not the player you were or are is the hardest mountain to climb,in black ops 1 i had a 1-65 kd and up till ghosts it was 1-88 or there abouts ive never been the best or the worst but heres the kicker,my friend put it best he said," You used to be good and now ,...your not "...by the way im 54 years old now and a grandad to boot,my kd is 1-18,and yes gain your exactly right about the grind blinding you ,i subbed to you after your vid on red card using the tac insert and blue perks,whilst i dont use the blue because i think some of them are just unfair at the mo ,im ok with red and green and i will use ninja though,anyway your videos are legitimately the most brutally honest take on cod ive watched i love that,keep it up
I have played over 80 hours in the multi-player already and when I switched and played LAN 2v2 snd at my local gaming place I seemed to be a step behind because I had to play a completely different way than usual but I was better off for it. I got back on pubs and I was doing really well.
This is why I don't "Go for mastery camos," and what I mean by that is, I play the game normally and just let the camos come naturally. I still get the mastery camo every year, but I dont hard focus it like it's the only reason to play the game. Sure, in MW3 there were some camos that I actually had to focus on to finish, but by and large, a lot of camos can be unlocked simply by playing the game. And that's true this year more than ever now that 60% of the grind is headshots, 13% is unique challenges, and the other 27% is kill chains. My brother is completely demotivated to play the game because he isn't having fun grinding camos, so I told him to just stop grinding and just play the game and let the camos come naturally and he was like, "No, I'm not doing that cause it'll take longer if I'm not hard focusing camos," but what he doesn't realize is, 87% of the grind can be done passively without actually focusing it at all.
thats what i never understand about these people. like youre brother. "is that litterally all the game is to you now? Even on camo grind ive just been playing the game and let the camo come naturally. At first i was really putting the work in the smg diamond camo (im on the last gun Kompat 92 ) and at this point im just playing for fun i stopped checking on the camo progress and just wait for the notification to come down on the top to see where im at, more fun and honestly feels quicker.
I learned my lesson. I never play CoD for more than three or four months per game. I grind one AR, one Snipe and one SMG and never go prestige. Not wasting my time on something I'm gonna drop.

I do the same thing, but how I work is that I’ll play from release to around January - February. I’ll get the mastery camos and then never play the game again for the rest of the year. Then I go and play games like CK3, Elden Ring, and other single player games, ect
Getting kills with headshots was the most satisfying and seamless way to get camos. I’d go a bit over that just to get gold camo, just like I did on CoD 4. The way the camo grind has evolved really got out of hand though, prestige is creepingly getting close and I hope it doesn’t get worse.
I agree with the sentiment. I took a 2 week break from playing and played other games in library. On coming back, i feel like I'm doing better than i did toward the end of my grinding stint. C9 actually felt good, and not like a peashooter, etc etc
i like a lot of the points you’ve made about the actual fun of the game being the sport of it, and i will get into ranked play when it comes out in a few days, but for now i’m still gonna do the zombies camos, afterlife is nostalgic to me from my school days playing BO2 and i want it so much.
My favourite online shooter experience is still UT2004. All weapons available to everybody, no unlocks, just playing for fun, and to win the round. I don't mind unlocks and things to progress toward, but that shouldn't be the whole purpose of playing.
A well said video! How true! I just started playing bo6. I haven’t played since bo2. I played to win and have fun and be the best team player I could. Then all the other stuff like diamond guns were just bonuses for having fun. I’m treating bo6 the same way! Happy hunting!
Camo grinding should only depend on score, kills and winning matches. Progression should be tied to performance in game instead of distractions. It’s made this way to nerf dedicated players going for Dark aMatter and enhance SBMM.
I got dark matter and I’ve been playing cod since I was 11. Never achieve the max mastery camos besides diamond in BO2 if you wanna count that. I love this game! It’s a mind set thing.
Most of the gring in bo6 is headshots,multi kills,sprint to fire kills,and killing multiple zombies in a few seconds,so the grind is pretty much just playing the game normally and its not really much of a big deal. Only thing that bothers me that there not enough people in my matches going for objectives as much as i do.
I did finish Prestige 1 Im on Prestige 2 level 30 completed I never selected anything on prestige one 😢 was not clear for me what to do, did I miss something or can I go back to it?
sorry about the caps, i would also like to add, my primary disagreement with the camo grind is that it forces you to understand the strengths and weakness of each gun, giving you a very full understanding of the battlefield.... i would say while in the grind you are mostly worse maybe... but once you complete you should be more complete. additionally as a working man, it keeps me playing by giving a goal i can reach unlike the idea of ever becoming a pro, more hours in game will make me better overall no matter what💁♂ just my thoughts
Do not play for camis.Its just dumb and never ever play just to play. Make sure you’re energized and can rip the lobby up on your terms. Play the game,don’t let the game play you.
I can drop 60 and get very little camo progression kills any game of nuketown i want its meaningless or i can go for challenges and get 40 kills but make progress in something. Yes i play worse when grinding but high kill games where i win more often than i lose doesnt make me feel anything.
I wish camos was based solely on kills with the gun like it is for warzone, some guns are trash vs other guns and if your not using the right gun ur gonna get smoked and form bad habbits
this is why i love xdefiant. no brainrotting challenges to get the rewards. just simply playing the game to the best of your ability and taking each death as a new opportunity to improve.
Everything talked about in this video can be fixed if SBMM was removed or made like it was in earlier CODS. Everyone loved them then. These new CODS theres on need to improve.
Carmo grinding should be about kills scores & winning only. I gets so many kills killing camro grinders. This have became a big problem. Because as soon as someone spam streak on them this is why. Not playing the main game. Then they wants to spam report saying they cheating. And nobody give a F about their glowing guns they trying to kill you. This is why SBMM needs to go. Who wants to be on a team of carmo grinding people's only to lose everytime a get spam streaks on & nuked on. When you trying to win the game.
Grinding camos ? Doesn't make you worse bro .. forcing yourself to play unorthodox ways via headshots or point blanks etc. . Changing up your Playstyle and making yourself uncomfortable will make you better. I change my fov and sense a lot just to shake it up

I totally agree. As someone who shoots at a range 4 times a week I take the competitive call of duty spirit with me. I can already tell when I blow my 100 or 50 yard rifle shots just by how I pulled the trigger. It gives you personal accountability. I even carry this mentality when trading stock options. If it’s too late to pounce on a move I don’t pull the trigger. Call of duty is more than a game for me it’s how I view things in my world too.
Coming from BFV with 5k hours there CoD definitely doesn't have the replayability. There is a reason they have a new game every year. This is the first CoD I have kinda fully commited to the skin grind and yeah most of what you have said makes sense. Not to mention how predictable the game is getting... like in battlefield I didn't bother remembering the spawns and there were so many lanes to take to an objective you never had an I am just going to throw an grenade down this lane and try to get lucky within 2 seconds of the match starting you needed a bomber plaen to do that 💩 and you could defend against it. On this game not so much, the grenade spam due to blast damage and range is ridiculous. Not to mention the netcode difference of the mover shooter given priority combine that with thrle desync and movement , hipfire and ads buffs. Sometimes you can't even shoot back preaimed ads, you see 1 bullet and they weren't even on your screen long enough to aim at them and pull the trigger... (my network is wired fiber, A+ bufferbloat, on a 1ms g70b monitor, 25ms latancy) so yeah the grind 100% makes your worse not playing the meta or having played so much in the first 2 weeks of the game you haven't completed the grind they have and you are screwed playing against meta bs whilst grinding. Not to mention the SBMM stay away from leveling the good guns you go from your lower skill lobby's from grinding to your ultra sweats real fast if you show even an slither of your skill with a good gun. Then it won't drop you back down skill levels for 6-10 games after that... crap guns first and stay on them till you only have the good guns left.
Don't play ranked if you're not all that great at the game, riddled with hackers too which makes it even harder for someone who's never played ranked matches it will leave you scratching you're head or putting your fist through the monitor, terrible graphics 💩audio and basically unplayable save your sanity 1v1 your friends or something first like this guy said, ranked was even worse than multiplayer especially the audio.

It's important to remember to enjoy each match and not so just see it as progress towards challenges.

Got smoke bounce kill ages ago. I just use smoke all the time and it happened on accident. Just relax lol

My favourite online shooter experience is still UT2004. All weapons available to everybody, no unlocks, just playing for fun, and to win the round. I don't mind unlocks and things to progress toward, but that shouldn't be the whole purpose of playing.

A well said video! How true! I just started playing bo6. I haven’t played since bo2. I played to win and have fun and be the best team player I could. Then all the other stuff like diamond guns were just bonuses for having fun. I’m treating bo6 the same way! Happy hunting!
Camo grinding should only depend on score, kills and winning matches. Progression should be tied to performance in game instead of distractions. It’s made this way to nerf dedicated players going for Dark aMatter and enhance SBMM.
Grinding camos has made me better. Lol. I now consistently keep centered to get headshots. 2.4 or higher kd games are achievable lately.
I got dark matter and I’ve been playing cod since I was 11. Never achieve the max mastery camos besides diamond in BO2 if you wanna count that. I love this game! It’s a mind set thing.

Most of the gring in bo6 is headshots,multi kills,sprint to fire kills,and killing multiple zombies in a few seconds,so the grind is pretty much just playing the game normally and its not really much of a big deal. Only thing that bothers me that there not enough people in my matches going for objectives as much as i do.
I totally agree. Camos mean nothing to me since they just show that you play a lot. I play for fun and enjoy the match

sorry about the caps, i would also like to add, my primary disagreement with the camo grind is that it forces you to understand the strengths and weakness of each gun, giving you a very full understanding of the battlefield.... i would say while in the grind you are mostly worse maybe... but once you complete you should be more complete. additionally as a working man, it keeps me playing by giving a goal i can reach unlike the idea of ever becoming a pro, more hours in game will make me better overall no matter what💁♂ just my thoughts

I can drop 60 and get very little camo progression kills any game of nuketown i want its meaningless or i can go for challenges and get 40 kills but make progress in something. Yes i play worse when grinding but high kill games where i win more often than i lose doesnt make me feel anything.

I wish camos was based solely on kills with the gun like it is for warzone, some guns are trash vs other guns and if your not using the right gun ur gonna get smoked and form bad habbits

Everything talked about in this video can be fixed if SBMM was removed or made like it was in earlier CODS. Everyone loved them then. These new CODS theres on need to improve.
Carmo grinding should be about kills scores & winning only. I gets so many kills killing camro grinders. This have became a big problem. Because as soon as someone spam streak on them this is why. Not playing the main game. Then they wants to spam report saying they cheating. And nobody give a F about their glowing guns they trying to kill you. This is why SBMM needs to go. Who wants to be on a team of carmo grinding people's only to lose everytime a get spam streaks on & nuked on. When you trying to win the game.
Grinding camos ? Doesn't make you worse bro .. forcing yourself to play unorthodox ways via headshots or point blanks etc. . Changing up your Playstyle and making yourself uncomfortable will make you better. I change my fov and sense a lot just to shake it up
I never grind camos because I’m not that good 1 and 2 I have less fun when I’m playing a specific way for camos.
No its actually not making me worse three more challenges and I'll have dark matter, only took me 4 weeks. I have 3 kids and a full time job. I play at night before bed. Just do it in free for all. Ez headshots. The community just doesn't understand walking out in dumb spots will get u shot, use thy brains, learn the maps, and come up with strategies that work. Cheaters are inevitable. Stop crying online.
I totally agree. As someone who shoots at a range 4 times a week I take the competitive call of duty spirit with me. I can already tell when I blow my 100 or 50 yard rifle shots just by how I pulled the trigger. It gives you personal accountability. I even carry this mentality when trading stock options. If it’s too late to pounce on a move I don’t pull the trigger. Call of duty is more than a game for me it’s how I view things in my world too.
Coming from BFV with 5k hours there CoD definitely doesn't have the replayability. There is a reason they have a new game every year. This is the first CoD I have kinda fully commited to the skin grind and yeah most of what you have said makes sense. Not to mention how predictable the game is getting... like in battlefield I didn't bother remembering the spawns and there were so many lanes to take to an objective you never had an I am just going to throw an grenade down this lane and try to get lucky within 2 seconds of the match starting you needed a bomber plaen to do that 💩 and you could defend against it. On this game not so much, the grenade spam due to blast damage and range is ridiculous. Not to mention the netcode difference of the mover shooter given priority combine that with thrle desync and movement , hipfire and ads buffs. Sometimes you can't even shoot back preaimed ads, you see 1 bullet and they weren't even on your screen long enough to aim at them and pull the trigger... (my network is wired fiber, A+ bufferbloat, on a 1ms g70b monitor, 25ms latancy) so yeah the grind 100% makes your worse not playing the meta or having played so much in the first 2 weeks of the game you haven't completed the grind they have and you are screwed playing against meta bs whilst grinding. Not to mention the SBMM stay away from leveling the good guns you go from your lower skill lobby's from grinding to your ultra sweats real fast if you show even an slither of your skill with a good gun. Then it won't drop you back down skill levels for 6-10 games after that... crap guns first and stay on them till you only have the good guns left.
Don't play ranked if you're not all that great at the game, riddled with hackers too which makes it even harder for someone who's never played ranked matches it will leave you scratching you're head or putting your fist through the monitor, terrible graphics 💩audio and basically unplayable save your sanity 1v1 your friends or something first like this guy said, ranked was even worse than multiplayer especially the audio.
Id rather grind camos and prestige than useless rank lol like all those other unfinished shitty games.
Fr tho grab a homie and go into gunfight focus on winning one on one engagements you’ll have way more fun
