      In Korea, we use a thick paper called "Royalji." It is a coated paper on one side and is about 0.6mm thick. The printed pattern is attached to the Royalji, and then it is cut out. For this reason, I didn’t include the process in the video. Have a great day! :)

    • @plan.b

      That is a skiving machine. It is used to thin leather by shaving off layers from the back side, making edges or specific areas thinner for easier folding and stitching. It's especially useful for achieving a more refined finish in leathercraft.

    • @plan.b
      @plan.b  Місяць тому

      저는 가죽 단면을 마무리할 때 세 가지 재료를 사용합니다.
      1. 토코놀
      2. 수성 접착제 + 물 (1:1 비율)
      3. 마지막으로 '왁스코트'가 있습니다. - 이 화학물질은 투명한 코팅을 제공합니다. 왁스로 마무리하는 것과 비슷합니다. 자연스러운 마무리로 사용하고 있어요.

      @@plan.b at 1:49 you put tokenole at the back of leather part and than you use glass slicker. Why are you doing that? Does the leather change texture? Does it become stiffer because of that, or is it something else? And is there any point doing that on leather that is not veg-tanned? Thanks :D

    • @plan.b
      @plan.b  День тому +1

      Rubbing with a glass slicker smooths the leather surface and gives it a shine. It does not make the leather stiffer. Tokonole is more suitable for vegetable-tanned leather. While it can be used on chrome-tanned or hybrid leather, the effect is significantly reduced. Thank you! :D

      I use three materials when finishing leather cross sections.
      1. Tokonole
      2. Water-based Glue + water (1:1 ratio) - This mixture helps the last applied chemical to adhere well to the leather.
      3. Lastly, there is “wax coat”. - This chemical provides a transparent coating. It is similar to finishing with wax. I use it for a natural finish. I hope this explanation helps.

      hi! Thank you for your positive evaluation of my video. The lighting I use is called “GODOX UL150”. I use two. And I use small LED lights as auxiliary lights when needed. The lighting angle is basically positioned at a 45 degree angle on both sides of the front. That's it. I think the reason the video is dark is either because the lighting is poor or the camera settings are dark. :)

      I use three materials when finishing leather cross sections.
      Thank you for watching.
      1. Tokonole

      Yes. We use water-based adhesive when attaching leather. Thank you.

    That must be THE most expensive way to buy leather. I can get sq ft pieces more than half the price that that mob charge.

    • @plan.b
      @plan.b  9 місяців тому +22

      You are right. Leather sold in pieces is more expensive. But for me, buying 3 different colors of leather to make this small card wallet is too much. If I had planned on making this card wallet and selling it over and over again, I would have purchased all three colors of leather. I think it's not a bad idea to buy carved leather to experience different types of leather. Thank you for telling us your opinion.
