- Himalayan crocodile leather for your pocket...
In this video I make a card holder using Himalayan crocodile leather. To keep the card holder thin, I used a thin calfskin leather lining for the inside of the pockets. The card holder design pattern uses overlapping pockets, with six card pockets and one hidden pocket for cash.
Materials Used:
Himalayan crocodile leather
Calfskin leather finished like Shell Cordovan
Fil Au Chinois Lin Cable 432 linen thread (0.63mm)
Vernis edge paint
Paraffin wax/beeswax mix
Leathercraft cement
Contact cement

Where did you buy the Himalayan crocodile skin???
@@Henri_Hilarious I got mine from a tannery in Thailand. Best to find a tannery near you as crocodile skins have many restrictions for international shipping.
@@TeranAtelier got it. Thank you!
Such an underrated craftsman! I cant wait till you get the recognition you deserve! All of us originals will be happily be cheering you on until then! Btw that croc card wallet is straight up smoking with the freshness.. white on white, classy and classic. I got some nile croc ive been waiting to use, now seems to be the perfect time!
Stay smooth!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! Best of luck with your project!
I love it. This is what i was just looking for. Thank you so much
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the video and the free patten. I have been watching your tutorials for something now and I have to say you explain everything very well. I am just starting in leathercraft so enjoy your videos very much. Please keep going
Awesome, thank you!
How have I never heard of you? This is incredible work. And thank you so much for the free pattern.
Glad you like it! I will be moving my patterns onto Etsy soon so make sure to get the rest while you can.
@@TeranAtelier🇵🇰 Good work bro👏🙏💐🤲
Love it…the best results whenever you use the best leather…congratulations your work is commendable ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! It is a really nice leather to work with.
I’ve got a long way to go! Thanks for explaining with such detail.
Happy to help! Just keep at it and you will get there.
Thank you so much! This helps a lot in making a thinner card wallet.
You're Welcome! You can also try fabric as a liner to make it even thinner.
That looks really luxurious
Thanks! I am really happy how it turned out.
Wowww is perfect
So beautiful and elegant
Thank you! Cheers!
Simple but turned out cool
Thanks! I am really happy with it.
I really liked the look of this wallet and the gold foil for makers stamp. Looks sharp. I’d like to see a more natural crocodile leather than the albino.
Thanks! That color of crocodile is dyed/painted and is called 'Himalayan'. I have been using some other colors in my videos like black, blue and brown.
Do you have any tutorials on making a fully lined card holder not using T pocket but normal pockets?
Is there a good microfiber material available to use as a thin pocket liner?
Hello, tell me, in this design, if you make a holder for 6 cards and if all the cards are stacked in it, then the middle is hard enough to open to put bills, is this normal or something wrong? Can you show it on the video?
Hi, a fully loaded card holder will be a bit tight, however as it is used, the leather will stretch and form around the cards a bit which will help. Another way around this would be to have the card slots only on one side and the other side with no pockets. Also as there are so many layers in this type of project, make sure you are using thin leather ~0.7-0.8mm thick and skive edges where possible.
Hello. First off, very nice work. I'm a bit confused though. If you chisel each panel seperately before glue than the slanted will not line up but turn into X shape which is hard to stich. ??
Thanks! When the two stitching holes align they will create an 'X'. This is as designed and both sides will have the stitches lay slanted. I have another video focusing more on this method ua-cam.com/video/GxPb19fvFVU/v-deo.html
Oh my gosh 😲 That wallet is insane. The white croc leather is so gorgeous and I NEED to have one for myself. Know where to get some leather like that?
Thanks! Crocodile/alligator is notoriously difficult to ship overseas. You should start by seeing what is available domestically.
Hello sir how can I purchased these types of leathers product when i belongs to India
Hi, you can find many exotic leather crafters on Etsy.
Good job - thanks!
Thank You!
Where did you source the leather
Hi. I got it from facebook.com/thaiandswat
I have a very similar hot stamping machine that I never got very far with, perhaps because I never dialed in the right temperature. Have you found that some foils work better than others, or is all good as long as the foil is indicated for use with leather?
@@TeranAtelier The foil I have is also generic for leather and paper products. I will have to continue experimenting.
What do you do with the cloaca(?) And is it wrong that I want to turn that part into a coin purse?...
I haven't got any plans for it but a coin purse does sound fun. I have seen some other crafters use it as the centerpiece of a project for fun but I think most people would just throw it away.
Teran - would you be willing to tell me where you got your electric edge creaser/soldering iron? The Regad and the Rocky Mountain Summit machines are a little out of my price range. Thanks!
This is basically the one I am using at the moment www.aliexpress.com/item/4000670514011.html it is a generic soldering iron. I use it with an FN2 tip a.aliexpress.com/_mL3oT9J that I got separately which is connected using a short M5 thread bar. It does the job so I have not felt the need to upgrade to a proper edge creaser yet. I recommend it if you are looking for a budget option.
Hello nice video, where you bought Himalayan leather
Thanks! I got it from facebook.com/thaiandswat
How much for something like that?
Crocodile leather is quite expensive so something around 200 dollars.
@@TeranAtelier u have an email or where are u located. Im willing to pay for you to make me one just like that
do you have any pattern for lanyard card holder
Not yet, but it is something I will do in future.
Hi, how do you remove the excess gold foil around the letters after hot stamping?
I do not know a good way to remove excess foil. The best way is to mitigate the risk by by using test pieces, reducing press time and increasing heat a bit.
@@TeranAtelier Thank you for your reply! I'll try messing around with temperatures and pressing time
I can see that Himalayan croc leather is your favourite. Where did you buy them?
Yes Himalayan crocodile is easily my favorite crocodile finish as it so iconic for luxury leather goods. I get my crocodile from a small shop in Bangkok.
@@TeranAtelier Does this shop ship internationally?
@@pequodexpress They say they do but I would think that it depends on the country as there are import/export restrictions on exotic leathers.
@@TeranAtelier We fuss in Canada, even bringing from the USA need Cite certificate and US seller asked 100 dollars. Here bloody can have seal skin, which is ban almost in all countries, but not croc or pythons(need cite certificate). Living in Canada, we have to spend too much money on tax, shipping, then DHL takes extra money as well as FedEx and UPS. you can't buy here good leathers or tools if you found one 2 times more than the other countries, why buy everything online.
@@bazlur-Vancouver It is unfortunate but you just have to make the most of what brands and exotics are available to you. Each country will have their pros and cons.
If you split the calf lining down to 0.5mm, what machine did you use?
You need a large expensive skiving machine to cleanly skive large leather pieces. I either buy the leather online with free skiving services like Rocky Mountain or take it to a local shop where they have a medium sized skiving machine. A bell skiving machine is probably the most accessible option if you want to buy a machine.
@@TeranAtelier A bell knife skiver has been ordered and I've studied up on how to use it to panel skive. An actual splitting machine is out of the question. Rocky Mountain Leather Supply? Are you in the U.S?
@@pequodexpress Nice, a bell skiver is great tool, I might get one in future. No I ship internationally, the shipping and tax is expensive but it gives me access to more brands and the skiving service is very helpful.
Do you know of any wholesalers/suppliers that do this?
You could try Equus Leather, they do alligator wallets.
Croc leather is hard or soft?
It is a bit soft and stretchy so I had to use my rotary knife to cut the smaller pieces.
I don't have crocodile but I'll try this with saffiano ☺️
That will also make an excellent looking card holder 👍
Love it
Thanks!!
Is it crimsons 3mm?
No this one is the 4mm model
Love your work! Great! Maybe I am wrong, but your golden logo does not reflect the quality of your work! The Font is too busy and the gold doesn't go with the white! One silver Bull logo with Teran (minus the Atelier) would be perfect. not in the center! left or right!
good One :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice and not full of none sense like women do
