- I get to experience my first 3-400cc bike in years and I’m pleasantly surprised. A2 license holders and people looking for such bikes are spoilt for choice and all for the better.

My decease won't let me drive a bike :( I feel sad and terrible for that. Even thought I got the next best thing, my dream car... it is amazing to see the "biking world" trough your cameras... Whoa, I'm a fan for such a long time now and you don't stop surprising me, your dedication in your edits is pretty huge and you keep improving through the years. I love your new intros btw. Keep doing what you do best man and thanks for letting me... well, at least dream a bit ;)

Get one mate you won't regret it. I bought one a few weeks ago and it's great fun. No problems at all with reliability etc so far as some people have said.

I've had the duke 125 for a couple of months now and I must say it's a good solid bike! Nice vid!!
I've the 125 from 2018 and it's fantastic, especially for the city driving!
Perfect, i was waiting for it. I have this bike and it is my next bike after 2 years on scooter. I am very satisfied, it has really much power and easy to handle ;-)

The seat could be upgraded with an aftermarket one, or maybe KTM themselves have some options available. I remember the catalogue saying parts could be upgraded direct from KTM, so if that's the only complaint, it's a pretty solid bike then. Always liked these bike's design.
Would be a hard choice for me going with this, or a motard.

With regard to the physical size of the 390. I agree my wife has the previous version and it fits her perfectly as she is small and light.
I find it cramped if I have a spin on it 'cos I'm not!😄

Im getting a full system Akra for my Honda CB650, last one in Australia and its not cheap but boy will it spice the bike up and increase its value.
What is the weird dragging noise you hear or is that due to the recording? At 5:13 for example it had stopt for a few secs, but as soon as you manipulated the throttle you could hear it again.
Can you hear that mechanical whine under partical throttle when your riding it?? It's very noticeable in the video. What is it? Also congrats on hitting 800k subs RJ! 🍻👍
Does RJ still film in 1080p now? His FAQ says 1080p 60 wide but this video is in 2160p so was wondering
I have a 390 since 15, now it has 40000 KMS and is a very reliable bike. The only problem was with the cooling system, but it was replaced by the 690 one and that's all. Greetings from Medellin, Colombia !

I just bought a duke 390, i just got my driver's license and rode it for the first time today, i expected a bit more power to be honest but for the price i can't complain, overall i like it.
RJ could you please test out the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900, I know it's a little 'porky' but since you used to ride one it would be nice to hear what you think of all the new changes.
Would anyone recommend an older restricted 600/700cc or a new ish KTM 390? Cheers

I'm 34 don't drive just passed.my CBT 2 weeks ago bought a used 2016 lexmoto Michigan 125 just needs a clean up this is definitely my next bike

I have to say... i own the 390 RC and i have a love and hate relationship but with it but that's because of it's "racebike" ergonomics. But i am a littld disapointed from the engine. It's great, makes a lot of power down low but it always feels like a Ducati engine it's just not smooth. I like the 390s but a 790 has got to be in my garage next year 😉😂
I own the Duke 390 and even though I think it's a great bike and plenty fast I also would love to own as 790.

Should work again. A powerful engine is already in the Superduke... and they only need to make the RC bigger and more aggressive looking than the 390 and done 👍
It's such a fun bike man. I have 5,000 miles on mine and I still have a blast riding it. But you're right, the pegs are a little too high. I only have a 30 inch inseam and my legs feel cramped on really long rides.
I'm 5.3ft and 27 inch inseam. Will it be comfortable for me? Or will I have to sand down the seat to lower it down 😅.
it's a great little bike, the only thing putting me off is the horrible fan noise, not that you have to worry about that in the UK ;)

RJ, just bought my 390 Duke 4 days ago and already I’m tired of hearing “is that your little bike?” Trying to ignore them....trying real hard!
I've been riding my 2017 duke 125 for about 6 months now.
I'm thinking about upgrading to the 390 in august, and from the way you handle this bike, to the way it sounds.
Let just say august can't get here fast enough.

Bought mine 2017 390 duke last july,go for it you wont regret it ;) just keep in mind that it has triple the power(KW) than 125 so go easy if you get it :D

How much might insurance be for a new rider just got their A2?
which ne would you guys prefer? The Svart/Vitpilen 401 or the Duke 390?
RJ, do you prefer the stock mirrors shown here, the mirrors that drop down below the handgrips or the mirrors that attach to end of grips and hang out beside them or wide? These here in this video are easier to glance at without taking too much time away from the road ahead I think. But I'm new to riding so I would love your thoughts please. Thank You!
I never liked bar end mirrors for the reason you stated.
Replacement for the grom?
Hi RJ,
The Grom is getting a little brother. Honda will use the engine of the Grom for the Monkey, a former 50cc motor. This wilt be replaced by the 125cc from the Grom.
Have a go on the CBR500R next, that was my A2 choice and I don't regret it
I think with the lighter materials and fuel injection now, there is no "need" for the larger cc bikes especially if you are doing only legal speeds ;)

Got this recently, white version though. I agree with your criticism with the seat, i consider it a very small con. All in all when you consider the value for money, it's one hell of a bike. Since it's only made in India, we get it for a very very good price. Cost me 4500USD/3700EURO including all the taxes and insurances. It's also 100-200EURO cheaper in other Indian states.

Restyled version looks way way better than old one from 2012. Nice one KTM.
It's not for me. However, good to see you out in Hemel Hempstead and up Ivinghoe way.
I am still torn between the KTM 390 DUKE, or the Honda CB500F
For £1,000 more, you get another 100cc, and the CB looks more impressive.

Hey RJ! Can you pleaseeeee do a short ride review of the rc390? I just got an a2 license and reaaaaally tempted to get one. Im after a 2016 model in particular. Its either that or an xt660, although i really want to continue on the sportbike style! Cheers mate!

If you're going for the RC be ready to have a lot of back aches cause the riding posture is really really stiff, mostly noticeable when you're tall! Do spend some time with it !

Sat on one at the weekend, way too small for me but I’m 6ft 5. Could probably ride it ok for short distances but it’s not for me.

That 390 here in India is the king of the road , almost everyone one has that bike,its got the most sales, that y hurqsuana is launching a new bike to complete with the 390

lucKYluc nope i was 20 when i got my a2 licence. I drive a Kawasaki w800 800cc 35kw not downgraded. Depends purely on the kw, not the cc's
In India u can be 18 and ride a litre class

John Doe, I'm 6"3' and I ride it every day. I wouldn't tour on it and I recommend you change the seat for the ergo seat, but otherwise it is really well setup and comfortable. It is just so agile, filtering in heavy traffic is so easy. I love it!
Im more afraid that i'd be too short for it, being 5"7' (5"8' on a good day haha)
