To Kay, and anyone else who may need to hear this; (long story, because if you are like me, you need to hear more than "just trust that God loves you".) when we feel far from God, there could be numerous reasons why we feel distant from God. I recently had a bout of this myself. It was so bad that I became depressed over it. I woke up every morning with anxiety because of it. My days between seemed lackluster. I wasn't happy about anything and didn't feel motivated to do anything. I didn't even want to be alone.
I experienced a range of emotions, and a past sin suddenly came up. Something that happened 23 years ago. It was before I'd become a christian, and I asked God for forgiveness after I became a chrisitan, but for some reason, the guilt and shame came back. I begged God for forgiveness because I thought maybe He had never forgiven me, and this anxiety and feeling far away from Him was His way of punishing me. I prayed and prayed. Then, a few weeks later, I was in tears and praying about it. Still nothing. I couldn't even read the bible because all I heard was condemnation. Reading the Bible brought no relief and only made me feel more anxious.
Then, a few days later, as I was really depressed, I begged God for forgiveness and pleaded for mercy. Nothing. About 10 minutes later, a thought came to my head that couldn't have been mine because it followed a verse from the bible: "If we confesses our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive." And then another "voice", How many times are you going to beg me to forgive you?" I instantly felt such relief, and a feeling of joy came over me. I'm not one to be encouraged by my own thoughts, so I know it couldn't have been just my thoughts. The "voice" told me that I had been begging and pleading God for something that He had already given me. That's why I wasn't getting my "forgiveness." At least, not in the way I thought I would, God had already forgiven me years ago. Why that thing came to my mind so suddenly from 20 some years ago was beyond me. But I guess I hadn't received forgiveness because I wasn't allowing myself to be forgiven. Suddenly, what I was feeling became perfectly clear to me; when Adam and Eve had first sinned against God, they Hid from Him. Because not only were they ashamed, but because God is so Holy, when we sin, it is terrifying to stand before God's light. You feel the terror of judgment. This is what caused Adam and Eve to hide. God knew exactly where they were when He called out to them. "Where are you?" But they had to choose to come to Him because He will not force Himself upon any of us. So, like Jason here said, sin can cause separation anxiety from God. We may not feel it right away. Sometimes, it takes weeks, months, or even years, but if we have a relationship with God, we will eventually feel that anxiety of separation.
However, there are other reasons we may experience this distance as well. Another reason is that God may be trying to teach us to not just feel nearness to Him but to also know that nearness. Feelings are fickle and ephemeral. One minute, we are happy and joyous. The next, we are down and saddened. Reading His word can tell us this much, as well as the first reason for distance, our hearts can cause us feelings of condemnation. While our hearts condemn us, He is faithful. Even though we feel distant, we aren't as distant as we think. Look at Elijah. After being. Threatened by Jezabel, He panicked and fled. He became depressed and also felt far from God. Upon a mountain, he experienced a great thunderous wind, but God was nowhere to be found in the wind. He experienced a huge earthquake, but God was not in the earthquake. But then he heard a small voice and found that it was God. Showing that God isn't always or just, in the loud boisterous and exciting times in our lives, but when we are in the worst, darkest moments of our lives, He is the nearest in those times, we just can't always realize it.
After I realized this, I once again felt relief and happiness. But then I went to sleep. I woke up the next day with anxiety again.....why??? I turned to the bible and read. After a week of waking up with anxiety, I read about Paul, who said, "God gave me a thorn in my side. I have pleaded and prayed for Him to remove it from me, but He won't because it keeps me humble." You see, God wants us to stay humble and wholly dependant upon Him. Not only does it keep us grounded, but we grow in closeness and relationship to Him when we constantly need Him for everyday life. Since I've learned this, my anxiety no longer bothers me. I still wake up with it, but it makes me feel encouraged and happy because I have been praying to God every morning and every night for it to go.
Here's the best part of all! God says He disciplines His children. If He doesn't discipline us, we don't belong to Him. Just like a father disciplines his child and nobody else's, God also disciplines His children. The Holy Spirit convicts us, not only when we sin, of the sin, but also He convicts us of our identity in Him; His children! If we didn't belong to God, He wouldn't discipline us, we wouldn't feel far away from God because we wouldn't know what it meant to be near Him to know the feeling of being far from Him to begin with! And so, because He loves us, He sent His Holy Spirit to dwell in us so that we may have a relationship with Him as His children. Knowing this is the best feeling. Even better than feeling near Him. Because not only can we feel near to Him, but when we feel far away, we know that we only feel far because we know that we have a relationship with Him! As the Bible says, we can only have this relationship with Him if He had chosen us to begin with. So, be joyful in your feeling of being far from God, because at least in that, you know you have a relationship with our Creator, our Father! If we didn't sometimes feel far from Him, it would mean that we didn't have a relationship with Him to begin with. So, praise Him in all you do! Whether you feel an inch away or 1,000 miles away, because no matter what you are doing, where you are, or what you are going through, He is there with you, whether you can sense His presence or not, HE IS THERE and HE LOVES YOU! I hope this helps someone out there who really needs to hear it. I've been through it, and I know how it feels to feel far away from God. Reading the Bible may not feel like it's helping when you are going through it. But I promise this, and you can trust this; Once you receive that breakthrough, all of what you read will mean so much more to you and will make so much sense when you do!
In short, when you feel furthest from God, it is when He is closest. It is in that time that we realize that that feeling is because He wants us to run to Him and hold on to Him the tightest. Our God is an awesome and loving God who will never let us go! Praise to His Holy name forever and ever!❤😊

God bless you saints. Our flesh will fool you. Remember the flesh is an enemy of the Spirit. If you're desiring to be closer to God it's because the Spirit is winning within. If you're gliding along in life comfortable then the flesh is winning. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. Hope this helps. I love my family ❤❤❤

God is so good. He used you to answer my Prayer about feeling like He is distant and questioning my Faith. I have not been well for the last 2 months and all of a sudden I felt my Faith in Him slowly disappearing, even though I was crying out to Him to help me get through. I felt very scared and shook up because I always have felt His presence and then nothing? I believe that the Enemy was the one who put doubt in my Mind. I still don't feel the same as I did before, but i keep pushing towards the Mark of my high calling. I know there is a reason for this and some of the things you said "Hit the Nail on the Head" for me. Thank you for your Obedience to share this timely message. I know I'm not the only one seeking answers about this. Bless you and your Family.

Hebrews 5 - How to Feel Closer to God !
Jesus is fully man; fully human & as our high-preast, has known full separation from our Father God; as he experienced death on a cross. Once for all time as our representative. Thus proving Jesus places Father God above himself; his human self. Proving his faith as a human. Even if it hurts I've got to do what's right. Faith proven possible signed Jesus Christ !
This is really helpful 👏🏿 for me. I have been feeling distant it was worse inside the mega Church I attend, a very beautiful atmosphere filled with the Holy Spirit, but I was so hungry.
I stepped out and Worshipped from home via online, bit by bit I realized I miss my Heavenly Father, and that thing hurts 😢 it causes spiritual paralysis, makes things a little harder.
I bumped into a new Bible and fell in love just to fire 🔥 up, and I renewed my prayer after that.
Not yet out of the jungle, but God's faithfulness amazes me. However, I did pray to say, "I don't want the conviction of the Holy Spirit to ever leave me because it makes want to stay repented."
I subscribed to this channel a week ago, and this here is a confirmation that I was led by God.

This is so helpful to me in my walk of faith. I tend to give my feelings more credibility than the Word of God through His promises to me. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8a)
John 8.47 he that is of God heareth God's words. 1 John 4.5 we are of God he that knoweth God heareth us. Jesus said my sheep know my voice. Jesus said for the wisdom of God saith the blood of all the prophets shall be required for that generation. David said be still and know that I am God. Isaiah 44.6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel and he redeemer the Lord of hosts I am the first and I am the last and besides me there is none God. Zachariah 1.3 Therefore say thou unto them Thus saith the Lord of hosts Turn ye unto me saith the Lord of hosts and I will turn unto you saith the Lord of hosts. James Draw nigh unto God and he will draw nigh unto you. Study praying in the Holy Ghost is reading and studying the word of God.
At 6:03 so far, and honestly, I’m struggling with this too, although I know very well He’s here! No matter what! And I do follow trough with what ai honestly believe is His Will!
Yet right before these things happen (like a month before) I start falling into games and sexual sin again (even looking is immoral, but already at the point of somehow believing the lie of “as long as u don’t go past …” whilst ur already past the point Jesus refers to… (Looking with Lust = Sin!)
Me: March/April (Restoration by giving my life to God anew trough specific circumstances)
Apr-May: Prophecies unfold before my eyes (I added a LOT of personal interpretations… and found the reality of the prophecies > It hurt, had to let it all go, only then God opened the door!
May: Built up
June: Getting impatient…
July: Fails & falls back into repetitive sin…
Current: Despite sin, God shows me trough giving me standards & righteousness within me to see how wrong things actually are.. even the little ones that are ignored by most… (even me)…
Then I find YT channels about end time again…
Result: I feel like these demonic forces try to drag me to them, but Jesus prohibits them. (Could also be imagination idk…) > Despite gift of discernment still I can be blind… like how? (To my own fantasy and/or wishes/desires)
When I feel distant from God, I remember it took 20 and 1 days for Archangel Michael to get to Daniel to have his prayers answered. Patience and prayer will help you with being closer to God.

Hey Brother love your vids. God has been showing me over many years through discernment that we should not go off feeling or thoughts because the enemy loves to use those things to get us into agreement. He literally lies to us all day long and tries to get us to be negative or fall back into sin but with Holy Spirits help we can discern these things and make the right choices by God. God Bless!!

The thing that really convicted me in such a great way , was that “I” will never know the HORROR of TOTAL separation from God like Jesus experienced on the cross when He was bearing MY sins and was totally separated from God on our behalf.

Jesus learned obedience from what He suffered and I was called to suffer as well so I can grow closer and learn obedience too and finish the race he has set for me.
I often pray to God to reveal to me any sins that I am not consciously aware of so it CAN be brought into the Light; if this is what is hindering me.
Feelings are feelings like you say and not always truth. In fact I am sure they are a lot of times deceiving.

Yes. This is very true. I went through this as well, not long ago. It's easy to realize we need to not only ask for forgiveness, it's another story to 1. Forgive ourselves and 2. Accept God's forgiveness. Those are a completely whole different story. Forgiving yourself can be a hard thing to do. Especially for those who are hyper-critical of themselves. Me, for instance. If you and I committed the same sin, I could look at you and say "God will forgive you" however, at the same time, I don't give myself the same assessment. I'm learning to trust in Him more, however and since then, I've grown to realize that the feeling of being distant from him also means that I was close to Him. Because If I hadn't been close to Him, I'd have never known what it felt like to be close to Him to even know I feel far from him. In that, I now know that He loves me and that has become enough for me. But at the same time, I want to be closer yet.
