That's very cool. With so many people trying to get these sounds so often, having a unit built directly for it is great. I think my only complaint would be that it's a little difficult (at least looking at it on a screen like this) to keep track of which footswitch is which effect.
I just appreciate the artistry and creativity of Jam pedals-I know this multi-effects pedal has nowhere near the versatility of something like the Helix, but it’s got personality galore.
Analog beats digital by a mile. Even as good as Helix and H9 are, up beside analog you can always tell a difference. Analog was around 1st. Just like amp sims can’t hang with real amps. Same principle.
This is super cool. But you can get an axe fx2 for the same price, maybe a used one. And I know the Axe fx is digital but that thing has infinite sounds plus sound patches that sound exactly like whatever band/song you want. Still, this is a cool ass analog pedal. Still, 1000 for 6 pedals essentially is kind of expensive.
Would love for you to do a part 2 where you use the send and return to add pedals that are missing like vibe or another gain etc. I like the idea jam group of quality analog, but curious how I can add to it and what downsides I might encounter
@@TheStudioRats thank you for your quick response. I thought it was important to know if you were running it into some kind of modeling technology and going direct, or actually using a real amplifier with a mic on it.
You have like 7 pedals there or better. All analog for 900. That's not expensive for the quality. Yes there are other options. Always are, but it sounds great.
I wanna know a little more about your clean tone at the beginning! Sounded just beautiful to me. Most of it's doubtless in your hands, of course; but for those of us with crappy tone but big dreams, can you speak to the guitar/pickups and amp?
Hi Big bag, and thanks. The amp was a Matchless Independence 35, There’s a Seymour Duncan vintage Tele in the neck, I’m not sure what is in the bridge position but the guitar is a CS 59 Esquire.
I would have to immediately strip the paint off that and relabel the switches. It's like looking at a 3d hologram poster. Even the knobs and indicator lines get lost.
Love Pink Floyd or not, this seems to be an excellent solution for me. I have too many boxes and patch cables lol. I've tried a lot of Modeling devices and returned all of them through time. I get that it's convenient and all, but still not the sound I want. This Pink Flow is all analog in which I prefer. I can also hear that it can do a lot more then just Pink Floyed tones. This is now on my bucket list, and hopefully will get me outta this rabbit hole iv'e been in for the last 35 years lol. Great demonstration on what this pedal can do, thank you.
This pedal is missing a Reverb, which would make it a complete, all-in-one structural "pedalboard". An extra $100 or so added to the price and an extra few inches to the size would NOT be a deal-breaker to me.
For something that'll get you at least some of the way there look at the Keeley Dark Side. It's currently sitting on my very short list of "things I'd want to add to the send/retrun loop on my multi." :D
For the price id sooner just buy a multi effects unit, which will do all this plus a lot more, and as most guitarists already own compressors overdrives, delays, fuzz' etc who is this actually aimed at?
Sounds great BUT what would it sound like using a fender hot rod and a Mexican strat or Squier. Can it make the cheap everyday gear that all of us have sound as good as whatever vintage custom shop stuff you got?
So the picture of the tap doesn’t control the tap function? The picture of the llama represents overdrive? I don’t expect to have to ‘solve’ a pedal before I can use it. What does the bear on the tricycle do again?
LOL How can we compare the two? One is digital with 4 effects, the other full analog with 6 independent effects. The Dark Side does not allow to use the delay at the same time as the modulation (WTF ???). The Dark Side is not ergonomic. The dark side has almost no interest next to this marvel.
A great selection of very good sounding effects. This one just might make me ditch my messy tangled up pedal board I keep plugged into my MK2 Katana. Very handy and great sounding indeed.
Holy moley…this is the first simple, multi effect I’ve seen where *every* component sounds killer. That compressor has no business sounding as natural as it does…
Just got one of these a month ago but haven't seen this review until now which is a shame as it might have speeded me up! I did um and err as wasn't sure about having an expensive one singe big pedal. But I took the plunge and best decision ever. For me it works perfectly. Plus the cost factor needs to be addressed. Its actually too cheap! To get that flexibility and level of pure delicious tones with a power and connectivity simplicity (so nothing goes wrong) would cost thousands. This does it all but you can easily add something to it where you want to add it easily too. It really is a marvellous piece of kit. My only thought is its a mistake even to market it as a "Pink Floyd" pedal as it just isn't that its uses can be so wide and varied and may have put some potential users off. But hey what do I know, Jam seem to have it sussed, they certainly have their sounds sussed, they make many other "boutique" sound - i dunno the word - dare I say "mediocre" maybe?
You gotta be british (or PF cover band) to use this... you can't bring that many massive pedals.. so thtas fine if you're planning to play the Beatles and Pink Floyd.. other than this..
Sounds absolutely amazing. But. Jesus Christ, that design. I'm all for fun graphics, but would it have killed whoever designed this to create a LITTLE BIT of separation between the segments? Just a simple vertical line between the units would've done the trick. For a thousand bucks, I would ask for every aspect to be well structured and thought through, including the look.
i'd like it if it switched off compressor when drive sections are turned on. too squashed by compressor. but, the compressor to be added for solo's at times. guess it just means a bit of tap dancing, but the pedal does sound great. NO WAH? that's ok. this pedal with a wah and a amp sim pedal affter would be a great fly rig. compact, quality tone and robust. i like it.
Mighty nice vibes there Paul, but a $1000.00 for a pedal? Yikes! I just scored a Keeley HALO dual delay which you may want to check out.... Top notch !!
For y'all who like to use batteries, I use a Mission Engineering Power 529 USB Converter with an Aukey 20,000 mAh USB power pack battery. It can power several effects even if they don't take batteries, you just plug the pedal cables into the Mission 529 and plug it into the Aukey, and the Aukey can fit in your back pocket and the Mission in the other, I have mine with my effects in a metal briefcase. If you use this with something like a Roland Cube Street and a Goal Zero Boulder briefcase solar panel and a Goal Zero Yeti Solar "Generator" you can be 100% off grid in the woods.
GREAT! THANKS! Now I have another buh-loody pedal that I HAVE to buy! Sarcasm aside, seriously thanks dude for the great playing and great demo. I do have to get one now...sigh. So much gear, so little time and even lesser places to keep it all! 😁
The overdrive in this sounds unbelievable
That's very cool. With so many people trying to get these sounds so often, having a unit built directly for it is great. I think my only complaint would be that it's a little difficult (at least looking at it on a screen like this) to keep track of which footswitch is which effect.
I understand what you are saying and when I pulled it out of the box I sort of felt the same way. But honestly, after 2 mins you get it.
This is really cool! I would love to see a pedal maker come out with a pedal based on Andy Summers/The Police.
Ever seen Longamp's Roxanne?
@@weschilton I have. Love to see a pedal with all his main effects crammed into one.

It is completely analog

Your excellent review is what gave me the final push to purchase one. I love it, thanks for the push….❤❤
that explanation for the use of the seagull effect :) :) :) besides of that - great demo, great playing!

Everything is "kind of expensive." If you were to purchase the Boss versions of each of these pedals it might actually cost you more 😉
An average of £167 per pedal is not all that expensive. Certainly not cheap, but for these kind of pedals, totally reasonable.
kind of???? this is a enermous rip off
Love the part around 9:50 when you hit all the switches and went full on DEF LEPPARD !!🤣🤣

If only you could move the phaser pre-gain it'd be perfect.
I guess I could add a second phaser, like a Phase90. E-Lady Flanger also essential
wow that is an incredible pedal
Brilliant review of such an outstanding pedal.
This looks way cool. Thanks for the video. Want.

They didn't miss a trick with that pedal 🥸
Hi Jonny, I’m afraid the wear is all done by the fender custom shop.
I could buy a lot of ice cream for the price of one of those and there's a heatwave coming.🍦
This is true.
No Other pedals used in this video?
Uni-Vibe? Is that what the 2-stage phaser is for? No photocell, right?
What the heck are you playing through? Sounds killer!
Oh, and I guess I should also ask what kind of pick-ups are on your Strat?
It’s a Matchless independence 35

This pedal goes where the Keeley Dark Side fears to tread with possible effect combinations.
The pedal that everyone wants to be half that price, have reverb and look a little clearer

Ugly. Front panel is busy and cluttered. Strip the top and streamline the control labeling.
It's a relief to find someone doing these kinds of demos who can actually play. Great touch and tone, long before you turn on the pedal. Subscribed.

It sounds like he is using reverb from the amp. There is definitely reverb in his sound, even in what he calls "clean" at the beginning.
Apart from setting the delay to do reverb like delay ,there are not many dedicated analog reverb pedals apart from spring reverb
Well, Gilmour never used standalone reverbs, so that's probably why it's not included.
I just got one of these and it's replaced six pedals on my board and I love it! So much more than just Floyd sound.
