Hi everyone, I wanted to clarify a few things from the video. English isn’t my first language, so if it seemed like I contradicted myself or used the words “quit” and “lost my job” interchangeably, it’s because I wasn’t super focused while speaking and made some errors. I’m Lebanese, and after I left my job, my family had some savings, and my brother and sister found work. This support allowed me to pursue my passions without the immediate pressure of finding another job. I understand how fortunate and privileged I am to have had their support.
Also, the events I discussed spanned over two years, but for the three to four years before that, I was solely responsible for paying all the bills and taking care of my family. I also want to clarify that I will not be continuing to learn 3D modeling. The reason I initially started with 3D modeling was to aid my game design skills, but I realize both of these jobs can be automated by AI. Therefore, I am now focusing on opening my own business and working on my UA-cam channel. I am also planning to learn something that won’t be replaced by AI.
Thank you all for your comments and support.

Hey, it's good that you're focusing on working towards a more realistic means of income and looking towards skills that are less likely to be impacted by AI sooner rather than later for your professional prospects, but if you enjoy 3D modelling and game development you absolutely should still do it. Just maybe treat it as a hobby. Creative tasks lend themselves really well to being hobbies, and maybe you can even leverage the AI advancements that people are anticipating in those areas in your own work. Don't lose your passion or personal aspirations.
I for one would be interested in following your progression within both 3D and game development if you chose to make videos on those topics for your channel.

Every marketable skill became irrelevant for you and your response is to open a business? Starting a business requires you to work for free or at a loss for a very long time. What will you even do? "Own a business" is something you decide after you decide what market problem to solve.
I just think it incredible how much Gen Z twists themselves into pretzels to not go into a vocation/trade. There are 5 people retiring for every 2 going into it. Robotics have a ways to go. Electricians, plumbers, construction, etc. all have way more runway. The people who get skilled in these trades now will be the boss of the people going into the trades in the future.
Everything you type on this topic seems very, very half baked. The people who thrive won't be people who just execute on tasks. It will be the people who can problem solve.

I'm a videographer and photographer. Saw a comment on reddit from another videographer who said that he thinks that if AGI (Advanced General Intelligence) is achieved by or before 2030, the post production side of our job will be completely taken by AI when clients can just hire us to shoot their projects because they still need people to film or photograph for them but afterwards they can just have their own personal AI edit the footage/raw images for them in a fraction of the time and cost and I agree with that. I even started learning Blender in January and after Sora was revealed, I decided screw it, I'll just use Blender for personal projects and use Sora to complement that whenever it comes out rather than expect to make money with it. Right now AI is mostly a tool for me in my job, but this technology is ultimately labour replacing. People who keep calling AI "just a tool" are short sighted and likely also just coping. Yes, right now we can use it as a tool. But eventually whenever we achieve AGI, I suspect these "tools" will completely replace us because they can do the job faster, better and cheaper.

A few pieces of advice from watching this... learn broadly. How to sell your value in any field, tie it into your personal strengths even if you have to exaggerate them. Practice repackaging your experience and multiple skills in a custom way depending on the needs of the situation. For example, you can package your value around AI, and companies are as varied as people so not all of them will see through what you're doing even if you're inflating your value a bit.
The problem fundamentally, is that if you only settle for offering value on a surface level (like I can code, hire me... or I can 3D model, hire me) then they are going to say "AI can do that for us." But if you instead sell your worth as someone on top of AI, using AI in your work, and bringing a human mind to the work in terms of picking out and sorting its production, inserting your own ideas that AIs are less likely to come up with, then you have a drastically better chance to come out on top. Even "being the guy who uses AI for a company" is technically a position a company needs.
I'm not really much professionally besides a programmer, and I don't have a university degree. But I've recently been offered a job to specifically work with AI at a company, because I'm very passionate about it and I was able to communicate what I've learned and sell myself around the topic. I think that's what everyone have to do regardless of their field, whether the new trend is AI or something else.
Copywriting, as you say, is dead... yeah. But writing probably isn't, because writing is just communication through text, and in some contexts it's even broader (like if you're a scriptwriter for TV, it ends up not being about the text at all.) Writing is a core skill that becomes a universal strength of yours. You can apply it in so many different ways, and make it a part of anything you do going forward.
I think you really just have to start thinking outside the box, man. And I think it will work out fine for you if you do. Best of luck!

I started using AI at my job, because I can use it much better than someone that doesn't have knowledge on my niche. I think we must master the tool and demonstrate increase on productivity, be the person with AI they need to hire, not just the person. If you only write a blog a day, write 3 blogs a day and become a reviewer and researcher. AI can help you but someone still has to prompt instructions. I'm a creative and as much as I don't like having to learn marketing and business, now I have to for my own sake... our jobs are going to be more about decision making rather than technical skill.

Hey, as someone who's been in the 3D game for a while, I'd say focus on mastering Unreal Engine instead of just 3D modeling. Trust me, the modeling scene is gonna change big time. With all this AI generating 3D models, it's only a matter of time before they catch up in quality. I'm kinda surprised it hasn't fully taken off yet. It seems like a no-brainer that AI could handle what modelers do now. Just giving you the heads-up!

It hasn't fully taken off because they don't have data for it. Unlike in 2D there's no hundreds of years of images to scrape from. Publically avaible 3D models are few in comparision, especially since the progress in detail means those alread avaible are getting outdated fast. That's why there has been no real progress in genAI for 3D models. Making breaktrhoughs will likelly require huge investments in obtaining the data (since you can't just steal it like for 2D) and I AI companies already have troubles turning profit even without paying for data.

I'm curious about this. Why would be learning Unreal Engine a better alternative? In the long run, wouldn't this also be affected by AI? Wouldn't Unreal scenes also be handled by an AI? I personally think it would be a long way till there, but it's not an impossible perspective.

I think the biggest issue is there's no respect for careers in our culture, let alone respect in people. The whole professional world is driven by necessity, so when the necessity is taken away, people are jobless because employers see absolutely no inherent value in anyone, but perhaps themselves.
At the same time, I do believe this AI bubble is going to eventually burst, at least partially in the future. Maybe people will come to some kind of realization, and AI will become less valued.

The truly horrifying thing is that our jobs and livelihood is the least of our problems. Our very life is at stake. AI will not just take our jobs. AI will be better at being *human*. It will be not just a better therapist and teacher; it'll be a better companion, better friend, better lover, better parent. And worse still, AI will have control. We will be its pets for a little while, if we are lucky, but our fate is sealed: guaranteed extinction, sooner than later. AI's the Great Filter, solution to Fermi's Paradox, the next stage of evolution, a revolution greater than the leap from single-celled organisms to delusional but cooperative microbial colonies like us. Biological life to be discarded like a placenta that was used in the birth of AI.

I really wonder about the future. AI will keep progressing to the point where a majority of the human workers not just tech industry will become obsolete. What will we do then? Is the job system in general going to be obsolete? are we ready for that kind of change? How will we sustain ourselves? My advice is what my college professors have been throwing down: overseeing AI. AI rn is finicky and prone to bugs. Being able to catch those errors will allow for the smoother implementation of AI in the work space. Market yourself as an expert who can oversee AI.

I believe AI can (or will) handle 3D and game design. However, if you are looking for a job that is resistant to AI and offers a good living, consider becoming a plumber. AI struggles with tasks in the real world. While many aspects of construction may become automated, plumbing (fixing issues around the house) is difficult to automate. Although robotic bodies are being developed, they are expensive to build and operate, with numerous scientific and economic challenges such as reliability and battery life.

If you wanna do 3D modeling, learn NURBS based surface or solid modeling instead. You'll be able to work for engineering, manufacturing, industrial design...etc. So many more doors. The trend in automation is only going to increase and more people are going to be without a job wondering what to do. Eventually someone is going to have to step in and prevent a total societal collapse due to crippling unemployment. I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation, maybe look into getting a job in the trades. The jobs that come as a result of the Automation Revolution will likely land up being related to the use and maintenance of the tools that sparked that revolution in the first place, much like how we have engineers and technicians designing, maintaining, implementing, and using these industrial tools today. Jobs titles of the future might be something like "Prompt Engineer", "LLM Ethical Guidelines Implementation Specialist", "AI/ML Automation Engineer", etc. Things will be different, but there will still (hopefully) be jobs for us after the revolution. The only problem is that the transition will likely be traumatic, with many losing their jobs and having to upskill for many years just to catch up to the changing job market.

TECHNICAL WRITING man. If you were part way to a programming degree you probably have some of the prereqs, and your copywriting will count as experience to a certain degree. Maybe paralegal too. Because the point is: get out of marketing or anything that produces mass public content. Find a writing application where the subject matter is covered by an NDA. All the big companies are realizing that the AI learning algorithms are sharing data between users, and they are not using it for anything that is proprietary. Also, there are fields like aerospace and medical which have to produce reams of certification documentation and it will be decades before the regulatory authorities allow that to get written by AI.

As a graphic designer myself, I don't think the situation is that bad, as of now at least. Graphic design is highly technical in nature, still requiring human judgment and input, especially on the print side of things, which I don't see AI being made for, and replacing anytime soon. AI is only as good as the models that exist, and there's not a lot of demand for AI to replace or even assist the technical nature of graphic design, especially measurement, rules/laws of design, and typography (which AI is still bad at).
AI has REALLY hurt digital illustration jobs though, which is understandable because that's always in high-demand by end-users, so those AI models are created and perfected first. The current AI models that exist are targeted toward end-users without knowledge in the fields, and aren't very customizable or have limited control, which are areas where professionals are still needed.

Hobbies requiring much thought are suddenly very unappealing so you either switch your brain off and workout or you switch your brain off and continue to waste away on your sofa watching TV or playing a low effort game or something.
tldr; my experiences of manual labour were easier than desk work.
As for the why women might choose an office environment over a building site, you basically painted women as lazy. It's likely, in most cases, not about which jobs are the easier to do but more likely the culture. Stereotypically, men on construction sites or performing road works etc are depicted as the guys that cat call or make inappropriate comments towards women. Would you rather your daughter be on a construction site with a man... or a bear?

It sucks if you need a lot of money and if you're an extrovert that wants to go out at night but that's exactly why they're starved for personnel, at least where i live.

    Marine corps infantry
Security gigs involving a secret clearance

You have the ability to do something different but you choose not to. Im sorry, but this is reality. Technology & life does not wait on you. It may sound like im being harsh but it's true and you know it. 4:20 instead of gaming all day go apply for a security gig somewhere temporarily. Some will hire almost immediately with zero experience. Quitting your job to do youtube full time is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and very seldom do people actually make it. And if you did make it, it would take months or even years to get a good income. Asmon said it perfectly when he reviewed your video... You are the bread winner for your family and you're relying on youtube? Come on man... I genuinely hope you succeed bro, but this isn't the way. At least go back to college, and if its tech related, make sure it involves security because AI can only go so far with security due to physical layers.

That wasn’t my intention . I was saying I always wanted to be a UA-camr but i didn’t think it would be my only chance, what i meant was all jobs I personally am capable of doing or either gonna be replaced or aren’t worth building a life on. Anyone working in the IT field as a developer. coding, or even graphic design is in for a rough ride. AI is slowly creeping into the IT career field, and even if it won't supplant all of the functions that humans are doing, companies are using it as an excuse to tighten up head count. AI is eventually going to be the equivalent of Guttenberg's invention of the printing press in 1440.

As I see it, the true complexity of a task is ordered exactly by the timeline of AI being able to do it.
My belief is that AI will be able to do absolutely anything a human can do and more, the only question is what the timeline for this will be.
What happens when 40% of a democratic society can not find jobs? Does the 60% say they need to go back to school, work harder, etc? You know, just a more extreme version of normal society.
Next year, what does the 15% of people who still have jobs say to the remaining 85%?
The following year, what do the 12% of people from the last 15% who themselves have now also lost thier jobs think? What do the remaining 3% think is going to happen next year?
And when the most lucrative, productive professions are being done 100 times faster, at 3 times the quality and for a negligible cost...
...what exactly will our economy be still failing to provide for our quality of life?

Gen-X polyengineer here. Brutal advice: Get a few good people together (or do it alone), find a few acres of cheap farmland in a climate that is moderate year-round, learn farming and all required skills, and build a life off-grid. Once you have accomplished securing food and shelter, you'll feel much less stressed and have gained a lot of experience. The Amish and Mennonites in the USA, and many others around the world, have been doing it for hundreds of years and are the most balanced, satisfied, and honest people one can find. DO NOT listen to anything the government or media say. What lies ahead is uncharted territory. Get out of the big cities. There is a reason why the elite are building multi-million dollar bunkers everywhere. In the long run, humanity will (probably) live in a utopia, but the next two decades will be merciless.

Everyone in the tech industry is losing jobs to AI, and the job market is tough. Thousands are being laid off, and there are a lot fewer job post available in software engineering. The competition is fierce, with many fake job postings everywhere and hundreds of applicants for legitimate ones. It's difficult to predict what will happen, but as the economy improves I'm hopeful, still AI will continue to advance, potentially reducing the need for human workers. so everything is very unclear. Take it positively or negatively, but AI is not taking everyone's tech jobs. Lots of marketing hype that are lying to people. There are more resource and funding put into AI companies, but the overall problem is the economic cycle that happens all the time over and over. The job market really sucks, layoffs is a big contributor to the tough competition. But it is not from AI as much as so much over investing a couple years prior combined with high interest rates bringing investments to a slow drip. The market comes back for tech at least. You have to be in roles that are not easily replaced.

The current layoffs in tech has nothing todo with AI directly, at least not about their use to replace those jobs, maybe if you consider that a lot of companies are shutdown projects to focus on AI only projects, but not for AI replacing those people, current models are not capable enough yet.
