This is not a simulator. The first minute of the video specifically says they have optimised the game for game pads. Simulation games are not played with game pads.
listen to the devs, what they did, and what they think of their product. With the work put in, it is clearly what they say it is, a scaled down simulator. And by simuator I mean the one pro use, not simulator game like iracing. and a pad can be extremely precise if well set up, if you can't play a simulation with a pad, git gud mate
Not sure if there's a single device that has that name but the first thing that comes to my mind is a touch pad. Honestly just use the correct terms to describe certain devices. Don't come up with broken names.
Controller is not a different name of a gamepad :P Controller means every single device capable of controlling, gamepad is a type of a controller. See the difference?
Guys,Stephen is obviously an ex South African going by the accent. Please don't insult the man by spelling his surname incorrectly.I expect more from this excellent channel :-)
What Project CARS 2 needs is a custom offline championship mode similar to Assetto Corsa where you can hand-pick your opponents' cars, name them and select the number of rounds and where you want to race with your custom rules set (number of laps, practice, warm-up, qualifying and other rules set and race settings). That way, Project CARS 2 will be something worth playing. 2017 is no doubt a great year for racing games since we have: WipEout: Omega Collection This one Forza Motorsport 7 F1 2017 GT Sport NFS Payback
You can get it in a mod. I have it and is fantastic you wouldn't notice the difference with an official track. You can even remove the chicanes to have the largest straight on a track ever.
really man. the physics model alone cannot be enough. for eg Doom plays amazing but without those visuals it would fall flat. I just feel AC depends too much on mods and subpar visuals most times. And i love the damn game dont get me wrong.
For Sim racers, the Graphics of the game is the least thing that matters :D The proof of that is that iRacing and rFactor are still the best simulators ever.
Forza Motorsport 7: Gigantic roster of cars, many motorsport disciplines and incredible levels of overall polish Project Cars 2: Dirt racing, huge track roster, full race weekends and great community influence Gran Turismo Sport: "It's Gran Turismo!" - silence - "Graaaaaaaaaaaaan Turisssmoooooooo!"
Wow. I'm at 6:55 where he's talking about getting the actual drivers from the manufacturers and how McLaren licensed exclusively to them, had their driver there, giving feedback, so that they knew, if you want to drive this car and you can't afford to go to a show room or whatever, you can do it in Project Cars 2. And for a McLaren to say that, wow, that's a very, very strong endorsement.
For those that love real Autosport Project CARS 2 is #1 Assetto Corsa #2 GT Sport #3 Forza Motorsport #4 F1 2017 #5 Project CARS 2 Over every racing Simulator on Console, no other title has this much content, and this many features. Now with the new Tire Model it will handling more realistic, and with the controller improvements to make it easier for the Arcade drivers.
Thanks for the rating system for multiplayer🙏 I would take races very seriously and a car would back up on a track. I try to brake then hit him, get a penalty!!
Has a great ghosting system for that you won't hit him, even on the first corner with this penalty system & you're a high rank for sportsmanship you'll tend to find you'll never be properly rammed with the people you're matched with. Just hope it stays strong in the face of all the casual players as its not overly hard to play nice to level up fast to a higher rank but it'll also quickly drop if you decide to ram people / play bad.
Thank God this is coming out. I was about to resort to just buying GT Sport as there weren't any other worthwhile race choices for PS4. This should definitely hold me over until GT7 comes out.
Good to hear they are going to try to address controller/gamepad issues... although I wish they DID have a "dumb down" option for the gamepad as well, as in Forza's "Normal" vs. "Simulation" steering option, because i'm still nervous as to how the controls will handle the old checkmate countersteering problem.. At least it should be much improved. Excited!
There seems to be a lot of heated argument in these forums about whether a software product involving cars can be described as a game or a simulation. Can a game be a simulation and can a simulation be a game, or can they be both. Twenty and thirty years ago, everything was a game but that's all changed. With software and hardware development at the level it is today I find it hard to call the current crop of car driving products "games". All of them are so technically sophisticated now that I think you have to put them, or at least some of them into the simulator category. You can still call them games if you prefer and treat them as such, they are all enormous fun whatever you want to call them. If you're on a PC, with keyboard and game pad and a 17 inch monitor, then I think most people would consider that to be gaming. But for anyone who enjoys motor sport and cars in general, sitting in a set-up with wheel and pedals, a gearshift, and a 50 inch monitor or TV is much closer to a simulation experience than a game. I used to be involved with multi-million dollar full motion airline flight simulators and I am amazed at the detail and physics and realism of all these current car driving/racing software/hardware packages. I cannot call them games. In a few years time and further software development, I doubt if anyone will be able to call the next generation of these products games.
i was already excited for PC2 (i really liked PC) but after hearing pretty much everyone who have played it rave about the new physics in the game I really cant wait.
love love love thant we now have Nissan , Ferrari,Porsche & Lambo for gt3 , i adore gt racing & am so satisfied that slighly mad studios has those licences, a masterpeice for sure
Was a long time fan of gran turismo but with the announcement of no career mode in gt sport I will be buying this. Wasn't a fan of project cars 1 but it looks like they're stepping it up this time around.
I'm noticing a lot of stutter. There would be absolutely no reason to not use a top tier gaming PC for their demos, so I'm thinking that they haven't yet fully optimized it for utilizing all CPU cores evenly. I'm sure it will get ironed out over time. Looks promising.
Sounds awesome. Forefront of technology. Amazing detail with regard to tires, weather, etc. When will Pcars 1 be patched so the cars handle properly? Yep, salty. And I do like project cars.
D.GHoST IsBack D.GHoST IsBack the guy was referencing to the fact that pcars2 does 12k, supports VR and triple screen while competitors aka. Forza can't and has only just went onto 4k. And then his comment about the simulation details when he brought up the dynamic weather effects which already existed in pcars 1 whereas forza only just implemented it. So he's trying to promote pcars 2 as a superior title to forza, at least from a simulation and technological standpoint
i watched forza talk up their game and every thing was one upped by pcars2. i love seeing the major developers getting one upped by project cars has half the budget and there game is way more realistic
Forza can be pretty realistic in some areas.... I think what's holding project cars back is the fact that it looks the same as Forza 4 did graphically like, 6 years ago, and the sound model isn't that great. The car list is also atrocious. Project cars may have an insane amount of tracks, but why would anyone get this over assetto or iracing when those games are far better simulators, and offer mods. Being a better simulator is the only thing project cars has going for it compared to Forza, but Forza was never a simulator. The cars also all look like they have rally suspension on them, it's just weird to look at while driving.
You have to remember that this is a smaller developer that Poly or Turn 10. They don't have enough employees to work on 5 or 10 cars at a time. But I would say that their cars are the best of any racing game out right now.
Listening to this guy explain this, wow - I'm definitely getting GT Sport in the fall, but I'm also definitely getting Project Cars 2. I had one, and hated how they couldn't map steering emulation to the controller properly. The best at that was always GT, and Forza was okay albeit somewhat linear and not as dynamic or realistic, but still - both of them blew away Project Cars 1, where you had to modify out the gate, settings for interface to the controller, and it still felt and drove like crap - they had no idea how to emulate steering wheel to controller. It's more complex than one would think, and they failed. So this time it looks like they're getting it right but very, very exciting is this live seasons mode - this will make everything seem so dynamic and real. I just wish they had standard model cars to test this with, like earlier Gran Turismos - cars anyone could buy, so you have, in a museum, different eras of manufacturer cars you can take out and run against each other. Still, I am excited about the physics and understanding of them as displayed by this team. I think these people are serious contenders to compete with Forza and Gran Turismo, and that is saying a lot!
Depends on carlist, If there is some interesting cars then yes, but if there is those same crocks from Forza then answer is no. And more accessible = driving game for soccer moms.
Darthadios Hard/not accessible = unrealistic easier to drive = realistic in other words, the more realistic the physics, the easier it will be to drive which automatically means it's more accessible. people always think that the more difficult it is to play a racing game, the more realistic it is but it's actually the other way round. driving in real life is easy. so it should be that way in sim games as well.
This is going to destroy both GT Sport and Forza 7. Basically, they took both of those games, took everything they do and make it even better and realistic, add additional features that the other two haven't even thought of, and combine it into one game.
render 900p (30fps I might add) with checkerboard on a pro to "4k" vs. www.cnet.com/news/tv-resolution-confusion-1080p-2k-uhd-4k-and-what-they-all-mean/ Well... this. Again... nice try. But your lack of expertise and blatantly obvious lack of a gaming PC to even brag about with that cringey avatar, is showing more and more. Grab at all the branches you can as you fall buddy. Maybe one day when the ps4pro can hold it's own..... oh wait. LOL It can't. Not even close... Babeee.
Man I feel like a fool for pre ordering Grand Turismo Sport on ps4 after watching this. Want to cancel my pre order and wait for full game review, or just get project cars 2 instead. The reason why I never considered project cars 2 was that the 1st ones physics was really bad with the joystick, but looks like they have fixed this as well as giving me a reason to buy vr.
Ok... If what he's saying is true, and the game does simulate the racing condition to the level of detail that he says it will, then this game will redefine the racing sim genre.
AC for sure by the looks of it. in pC2 again the Antirollbar looks too stiff cuz the cars are just again violently bouncing on every bump, making putting power down a bit tricky.
the game does look stunning fir sure bro but even PC was a good looker in some weather and track combos. But il just always want AC with better graphics and a cooler career mode.
Well, i think pc2 is way ahead pc1, and everybody is saying how realistic and approachable is, and that's what's important. In terms of realism, iRacing, rFactor 2 and Automobilista are ahead of Asetto Corsa, but AC is somehow more approachable, and feels really nice. So we will see, i think PC2 will be really close to AC but with a plus, the licences to avoid bad drivers online is a really cool feature.
So simulation racing games have cheesy damage because the manufacturers don't want people to see the cars damaged? I always wondered why the damage was so lame on games like Forza
Chris Hahn It does when you've got the helmet view on. So as you come up to the corner, the camera tilts and turns into the corner. I'd recommend watching the Ferrari 488 GT3 gameplay to see it properly
The truth is that most of the consumers we have play on console with a CONTROLLER. So we are making everything in our power to make them happy and get the physics just right for THEM. There are thousands of 12 years-old who's mommy's are going to buy the game for Christmas and we cannot wait for December 24 we are so exited. There are a handful of serious sim racers out there who we fool in our kickstarter campaign, got their money to fund our game and now we are making more empty promises to see if they fall for it again. But if they don't doesn't matter we are a company and we know the real money is in consoles. Did I get the translation right?
You are so tough offending people on the internet, anyways. Let me tell you the why of my comment. Project Cars was funded through a Kickstarter that I and many others help to fund. We were promised a racing SIMULATOR not a racing game. Now PC is an excellent racing GAME with its beautiful graphics, soundtrack and such but is not a good racing simulator like we were promised. If they would have come up front and say hey we are not going to simulate physics properly like a real car, is gonna be more like a Gran Turismo type a thing. I would have been that's cool and keep my money. But no they weren't honest they took everybody's money and didn't deliver. So that's why some sim racers are furious at SMS and I'm sure you would be too if you would have helped to fund this game. Now if PC2 finally gets the physics right I'll be the first one to buy it, but I seriously doubt they will.
I don't understand why people play simulators with game pads.. All realism is thrown out the window. You can get a wheel setup for about $200, and it makes the game 1000x better. If you just use a controller, go play NFS or something meant for that.
The game looks brilliant and most things they say about it are very promising, but each when i here them say: ''it got easier'' i'm not so sure. I mean, was PC1 really that difficult to play?
I really hope we get real F1 cars from the actual teams like Ferrari, AMG, Red Bull, Mclaren Honda, etc. And the present GT3, LMP1&2 cars. Just the only thing I didn't like about project cars 1 was a poor selection of cars
2017 is like the year of racing games, no matter what type you like:
GT Sport
Need For Speed
Project Cars 2
Forza 7
F1 2017
And early next year:
The Crew 2! (now featuring PLANES AND BOATS)
Track Masters Cup Series you forgot Dirt 4.
Oh yeah Dirt 4!
Like, if you like racing games, you will like 2017's gaming year!
Track Masters Cup Series exactly !
Did you forgot "Micro Machines World Series" on purpose? ;p
The depth of field they use in cockpit view is really cool.
it was there in Pcars1. you can toggle it ON/OFF
It don't come like that out of the box. You have to adjust it to your/real world liking.
Ok, this is such a great year for racing games.
Forza Motorsport 7
Project Cars 2
Gran Turismo Sport
The Crew 2
Need for Speed Payback
Dirt 4
f1?
Angry Toast gt sport doesn't count?
Gt sport should be at the top of your list
Antoine Bissonnette he put need for speed in his list..... dont expect logic.
bud ley lol
Nice to see, that Algarve is one of the racing courses on the game. It is one of the best newer tracks there is.
For all complaining for an arcade style street racing game. Need For Speed Payback and The Crew 2 is coming... Not to mention Forza Horizon 3 is currently out now. So please, quit your bitching... This is a video about a *SIMULATION* racing game for people who takes their driving seriously...

Man I'm sold for this game ,can't wait so I hope it will come co op gameplay
Good interview - he knows his product and goes into great detail on how the game is produced. Good representation!
I love how the guy always says "gamepad" and not "controller". Proper grammar is so nice to listen to :D
What about control pad. Is that ok?
Not sure if there's a single device that has that name but the first thing that comes to my mind is a touch pad. Honestly just use the correct terms to describe certain devices. Don't come up with broken names.
Calling something by a different name has nothing to do with grammar though.
Controller is not a different name of a gamepad :P Controller means every single device capable of controlling, gamepad is a type of a controller. See the difference?

akshay raj "pull their socks up"... srsly....
why? it has excellent physics model. only things it misses are some of the tracks like LeMans
You can get it in a mod. I have it and is fantastic you wouldn't notice the difference with an official track. You can even remove the chicanes to have the largest straight on a track ever.

this game is looking to take the top spot and that was a great interview

No idea why but I found the launch at 11:30 pretty hilarious
The drifting looks good and the concept about using the road texture and environment customization sounds magnificent.
Thanks for the rating system for multiplayer🙏 I would take races very seriously and a car would back up on a track. I try to brake then hit him, get a penalty!!

Only thing that makes me shy from this is lack of LMP cars in the car list.

This is the only car racing game i will probably need.
Now that project cars 2 got rallycross too in game
I preordered the first one, let's just say I haven't preordered anything ever since.
i was already 100% sure i'm going to buy PCars 2 and this is only getting me even more hyped than i was before
Forza 7 is the first Forza series game I wont be purchasing since Forza Motorsport 2. Making the jump to Project Cars 2. Cannot wait!
Man this game is gonna be great can't wait. Usually Forza would be the first priority but I think P.Cars2 might be 1 this year
Very nice that you do 12K, there's only no tv on the entire planet earth that can handle 12K
Real racers want true simulations. Hopefully project cars 2 will deliver that to us this time around.
So extremely glad to see another good sim besides f1! I hope they add (mandatory) pitstops and marshalls with flags :D
XboxOneFTW They had mandatory pit stops last time so I'm sure that'll be in :D
Don't even say anything about gt because gt is what made the racing simulation games what they are today it defined the whole genre
Ok, but can you customize car liveries in-game?
Was a long time fan of gran turismo but with the announcement of no career mode in gt sport I will be buying this. Wasn't a fan of project cars 1 but it looks like they're stepping it up this time around.
The original project cars AI was amazing for some series but not for others (open wheel) I hope they customize the AI for each series

The jittering while taking turns. gystg!
I want sprint cars and dirt racing so bad in this game.
Is there an option to turn off a drivers hands animation?I mean it's a simulator after all, it would be cool option.
I was a fan of Gran Turismo but this made me change my mind.
Kain Bastien You can be a fan and like other games too...
Kain Bastien If this game had the Car Customization like GT SPORT it would be awesome! And like you I've changed my mind too
Sounds awesome. Forefront of technology. Amazing detail with regard to tires, weather, etc. When will Pcars 1 be patched so the cars handle properly? Yep, salty. And I do like project cars.
12K...
How much do systems that can support smooth 12K even cost? Including having a 12K monitor.
by 12K they just mean 3x4K monitors
please tell me the centenario will be in the game
Alot of shots fired at forza haha
Harvey Lim Shots fired? This game has 150 cars and Forza 7 has 700 cars lmao
D.GHoST IsBack D.GHoST IsBack the guy was referencing to the fact that pcars2 does 12k, supports VR and triple screen while competitors aka. Forza can't and has only just went onto 4k. So he's trying to promote pcars 2 as a superior title to forza, at least from a simulation and technological standpoint
Can you or anyone detail why Pcars is better from a simulation standpoint?
Also pointing out the game has the most tracks on a console game ever.
No one's going to play this in 12k dude
10:40 We all know that PCars didn't work well with a gamepad. This sounds promising. I hope they've finally this.
i watched forza talk up their game and every thing was one upped by pcars2. i love seeing the major developers getting one upped by project cars has half the budget and there game is way more realistic
I'll be getting Forza over this. Why do the cars in this game bounce around as if they are detached from the road?
NxT Level i think its the suspension working when weight of the car shifting
Forza is an arcade game and never tried to be realistic. Project Cars devs are well known to talk smack. Be careful with the fanboying.
Eric B
Forza Motorsport is realistic in a way.
Forza can be pretty realistic in some areas.... 7:35 the damage is realistic... is it the damagemodel also?
Do you get disqualified for not going to pit-stop like in PC1? that was stupid.
So many numbers for calculations, lets see how the actual driving is this time around
To the people who played the first game, how many cars are in it?
Anthony Jordan That's it? I was going to pick it up but 60 cars aren't enough. How many are in assetto corsa?
A little over 120 cars in the complete edition, but I wouldn't drop 50 on it now.
bran. don Cool. 120 sounds much better than 60. why you won't drop 50 for it?
Buy it if ya can. I'm just saving money.
Solid game.
You have to remember that this is a smaller developer that Poly or Turn 10. They don't have enough employees to work on 5 or 10 cars at a time. But I would say that their cars are the best of any racing game out right now.
Eagerly looking forward to the release.
Can you use a controller for this one now? Playing project cars 1 on the xbox with the controller before was impossible!!
Sounds like meteoroligsts had to work harder that race drivers and game designers here...
Listening to this guy explain this, wow - I'm definitely getting GT Sport in the fall, but I'm also definitely getting Project Cars 2. passion + $$$$ = Project Cars 2

Not true.
And there already is accssible driving game for soccer moms, Dirt 4. So I hope this one is for racing game fans.
I just wonder how many players max can race online cause it was a huge difference on consoles and pc
This is going to destroy both GT Sport and Forza 7. Basically, they took both of those games, took everything they do and make it even better and realistic, add additional features that the other two haven't even thought of, and combine it into one game.
Gonna be the best racing game on PC
will i be able to drift properly on this game physics engine?
11:44 to 12:06 please tell me you can change that
Aint there 4 platforms? (nintendo)
I bought PC1 but just played with a controller and honestly had the worst time... this gives me hope
Makes gt sport look like a game from 2003. LMAO.
Gonna grab this and Forza 7.

Grab at all the branches you can as you fall buddy. Maybe one day when the ps4pro can hold it's own..... oh wait. LOL It can't. Not even close... Babeee.
"""Microsoft classifies the checkerboard rendering and dynamic resolution scaling as a true 4k resolution"""
LOL
west webb Xbox One X will be laughing at your Ps4 pro LOL.
Pushpop LoC I'm picking up both as well.
Why are they slowing down?
Its a racing game, there's accelerate and accelerate more
Man I feel like a fool for pre ordering Grand Turismo Sport on ps4 after watching this. Want to cancel my pre order and wait for full game review, or just get project cars 2 instead. The reason why I never considered project cars 2 was that the 1st ones physics was really bad with the joystick, but looks like they have fixed this as well as giving me a reason to buy vr.
cuando saldrá a la venta el juego si alguien sabe gracias
Ok... If what he's saying is true, and the game does simulate the racing condition to the level of detail that he says it will, then this game will redefine the racing sim genre.
But did they fix driver errors with AMD graphic cards? And things like the stupid AI where all cars drive the same?
"all 3 platforms" which didn't include nintendo. dark times we live in....
TheRegalRolston Nintendo consoles don't have analog triggers.
Flo S_01 They do though. You can buy traditional controllers for their consoles.
Forza 7 The simulator Jackson Storm was using... Project Cars 2 is the simulator that McQueen broke
Project Cars 2 will be released ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!! HAHAHHAHAHAHAH
Akcent918 nice
Uprisen Phoenix, feel so sorry for you... Hope we both get this game!
Chase camera angle is too low
so keen for them to add sports cars like lambo Ferrari etc
i wonder which has better physics:asseto corsa or pc2
AC for sure by the looks of it. in pC2 again the Antirollbar looks too stiff cuz the cars are just again violently bouncing on every bump, making putting power down a bit tricky.
akshay raj you know the game looks so damn good with weather and tracks but guess we're never getting a proper sim
the game does look stunning fir sure bro but even PC was a good looker in some weather and track combos.
So we will see, i think PC2 will be really close to AC but with a plus, the licences to avoid bad drivers online is a really cool feature.
alvarokas on what aspect do you think iracing is ahead of ac??...i would like iracing but just way too expensive,it is like ps plus
cant wait. i enjoyed project cars
what should i buy project cars 2 or forza motorsport 7?anyways i want both of them
AK P both one for a realistic and one for going really fast with
Your friends
Yora opponents!
So simulation racing games have cheesy damage because the manufacturers don't want people to see the cars damaged? I always wondered why the damage was so lame on games like Forza
I'll buy this once they fix the first game ...
Does the camera or focus point move in cockpit view so you can actually see the road ahead when you're in the middle of a corner?
Marc Gooding I have never played Forza in my life. Do you only play simcades?
Didn't you know? Bashing PCARS2 and SMS is the favourite pass-time of hardcore simmers.
Marc Gooding trying too hard to be clever
Marc Gooding I replied to you didnt i? duh
This will be the king of sim of racing games.
I don't understand why people play simulators with game pads.. All realism is thrown out the window. You can get a wheel setup for about $200, and it makes the game 1000x better. If you just use a controller, go play NFS or something meant for that.
will it have drift season
The competition is on
The game looks brilliant and most things they say about it are very promising, but each when i here them say: ''it got easier'' i'm not so sure. I mean, was PC1 really that difficult to play?
Can't wait to play this game!
I really hope we get real F1 cars from the actual teams like Ferrari, AMG, Red Bull, Mclaren Honda, etc. And the present GT3, LMP1&2 cars. Just the only thing I didn't like about project cars 1 was a poor selection of cars
if this is like project cars 1 then im out of luck cant afford a steering wheel to enjoy this
Something about that Honda Civic was just janky. That movement didn't seem right.
Why does the car jump
So much
Looks good. But I have so many bad memories from pcars1 and all its bugs and shitty menus, I'll probably pass this game.
that man really knows how to sell this game. I was going to buy it anyway :P
