Beautiful music. The Tenebrae Choir is a London-based professional vocal ensemble founded and directed by former King's Singer Nigel Short. Co-founded by Short and Barbara Pollock in 2001, its repertoire covers works from the 16th to the 21st Century.
I have to add here there has been some greats in the past, Howells, Elgar etc but this composer, well the harmonies are so .... simple perfection!! This is different and quite unique and beautiful.
Goddness me this is heaven oh wow the harmonies the final page is well... Heaven and earth came before mine eyes. If only the world could be so perfect!! Thank you!
A marvelous performance. The soloists are excellent, and Tenebrae "nails" the thick last chord. And what a gorgeous church in which to sing this moving music by Paul Mealor.
Locus iste a Deo factus est! É isto mesmo que esta composição nos faz sentir: este lugar de epifania de Deus na música. Bem aventurado o compositor. Bem haja.
Yes I believe so, I saw him last year in one of the path of miracles tours in nj. I think tenebrae has a large pool of singers that they send out based on what they are singing at the time.
This is amazing - I heard your 'Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace' yesterday on Classic FM but can't find it on youtube - could you tell me how I can find it? Thanks :)
A lovely piece, but what's the key? It starts out mid-way between E and E-flat and eventually ends up in E-flat. Is it written in E or E-flat? (Kudos to Minnesota Public Radio's Choral Stream, where I first heard this piece and of Paul Mealor!)
You are referring to David Allsopp, a brilliant counter-tenor and soloist who sang on one of Tenebrae's latest recordings, Symphonic Psalms and Prayers!
This choir is the most sublime and consummate manifestation of the art that I have ever heard. Paul Mealor is brilliant.
The Tallis Scholars are also wonderful to behold.
Sublime is the word, yes.
This is the highest world class in music.
Everyone here is capable of singing professionally solo yet are like one voice without compromising eachother, amazing!

Required listening for times like these. Stay safe, everyone.

I have been searching for this piece for so long. Thought I would never find it. God wanted me to suffer no longer.
It really shows this dude was a king singer .. Same perfection and attention to detail, only ~30 people singing not 6 .. amazing.
Goddness me this is heaven oh wow the harmonies the final page is well... Heaven and earth came before mine eyes. If only the world could be so perfect!! Thank you!

Yes I believe so, I saw him last year in one of the path of miracles tours in nj. I think tenebrae has a large pool of singers that they send out based on what they are singing at the time.
Who is the bass-baritone who has the rich melodic voice at 2:05 to 2:22? Thanks.
